  1. The government should step in and do something about this, it's a joke.
  2. Would anyone else like a bite of banality?
  3. It's settled then, DB for new goalkicking coach.
  4. This has to be the longest appeal process ever.
  5. Pittonet in and De Koning out. Going with experience at bagger land.
  6. See my family seems to have a tradition of spite running through it. My dad was from a family of Carlton fans and being the youngest he bucked the trend and went Pies. Fast forward to the young me and he would have been hoping for me to follow but I bucked it and went Dees. So yeah the only way in my family is to turncoat each other! Something I resent in my inwardly focussed Melbourne way is how the public always builds up Collingwood being some kind of underdog against us like the last 3 times we've played each other and when they win it's like this feeling of scoring one for the little guy, which is total BS. For as long as I can remember barring some triumphs in between, the black and white team has always taken the honours over the red and blue team. That's the narrative, the public should now want to see us knock them off their perch.
  7. Yeah it was like that in the Warne stand too. To the point where some obnoxious Pies fans were making a scene in the Hassett bar. Plenty of complaints were made that night hence the email.I don't have a major issue with it either but if it gets overdone then you lose a bit of the premium gloss I guess.
  8. Yeah that's right, so many 'nearly men' on that list like Cory Mcgrath, Daniel Harford, Glenn Bowyer, Heath Scotland etc
  9. There you go, ANOTHER example! Always felt that 06 season could have been anything if we got top 4. That demolishing of the Dogs the week before was something else.
  10. When Russell perfected his routine he very rarely missed. Was very much a confidence kicker.
  11. I don't rule the Saints totally out this week. Unlikely but I'd give them a go.
  12. Yep, signing for 2 means a possible circus again next year. Wouldnt say no but could be in too deep now.
  13. I know Mr Leg, just having a lend of this 'appointed board'
  14. How about 04? Needed to beat these barnburners at Princes Park to seal top 4 and didn't...
  15. They do have a habit of landing their targets.
  16. It's another really good question that no-one ever seems to have an answer for. I always thought they just get the lawyers involved and try to get off on technicalities but I'd really know diddly.
  17. My dear old dad the Pies fan is an architect and always likes to share his opinion that the CFC has the best 'cross sectional demographic of fans in the game' ranging from battlers to successful and affluent people. Firstly you can pretty much say this for any club in the league, secondly just be quiet I tell him.
  18. True but he kicked it JG! Something few others were able to do regularly on the night.
  19. I think one of the reasons for our slight drop this year is because last year was so phenomenal and incredibly difficult to reach those heights again. The losses we had were more often than not backed up by bounce back wins. If you were designing an ideal premiership season that one would come mighty close. I hate making these kinds of excuses but the fact is if we pinch one or 2 more of these games we really should have won then the narrative is different.
  20. Yep, and we need a bit of that right now.
  21. The DB example is an excellent one and leaning over before ripping it was what allowed him to kick such great distances. I haven't studied this in great detail or anything but I find one of the most common faults of a goal kicking stance around the league is in the ball drop and more specifically the guiding hand. The way you guide the ball down to your foot (usually with your preferred hand) was always a big part of the drop punt skill when I was younger and I just don't think enough players even think about this.
