  1. Drunk and hopped up on goof balls.
  2. Absolutely. I'd want my kids first memory to be the 18 final and then go through their whole life with no memory of losing to them like we had to endure.
  3. I don't know what to make of our defending in transition at the moment. When GC were coming out of defence and kicking long to the wing/centre I was very confident if we were able to kill the contest and prevent it from going further in that moment because we could then obviously setup behind the balll even if GC regained possession from a spoil forward or possession at stoppage etc. I had almost no confidence as soon as that long kick spilled out to the back of the contest off hands and GC gathered. From that moment they would proceed to slice us through the middle and create a scoring chance or a decent entry. I just don't know what to make of this right now, is there a chance that without Petty down there we are playing a deeper line than we usually do? It just seems like there is much more space between centre and half back for the oppo to run into or create with. When GC were hot this happened time and time again, against Essendon this happened time and time again, as soon as that ball came off hands and went to the back of the contest they were off.
  4. Curtain through the middle as well? Already touted as a great CHF or CHB. Possibly a Pavlich type?
  5. At least on all occasions the club comes off with a good sense of humour with the number of 'jokes'.
  6. It was one of the first things we all learned as juniors. Protect yourself. If something like this had happened back then and you got hurt there wasn't always sympathy, it was usually someone asking you what you learned from it and that you needed to use your body to your advantage.
  7. A lot of media outlets labelled the incident 'clumsy' so I thought we'd take a trip down memory lane. Anyone remember Paddy Mccartin cannoning into Neville Jetta in 2018 at Marvel? I was there and thought the action he took really didn't need to happen and he was quite late. He suffered one of his many concussions in this collision and I did not hear one person call it clumsy or suggest it should have gone to the MRO. I love Paddy Mccartin but to me this was no worse than what JVR did.
  8. It's just a point of precedence and what legal teams would use for their defence. Whether I think Cripps should have gone or not doesn't matter, the point is he got off. The incidents aren't that similar apart from the fact that there is contact to the head. Cripps concussed Ah Chee who missed the last two rounds of 2022, Ballard is expected to play this week, JVR was trying to spoil a ball and did while Cripps came in late with a flying superman elbow and got none of the ball. If we're going by a certain scale and checklist then it makes sense to mount our defence based on past incidents and if Cripps got off then I'd expect JVR to as well.
  9. I felt they would on this one. It's not right
  10. Yeah little surprised with the Hunter bashing at the moment.
  11. I'm confident we'll do the right thing. I'm starting to get pretty irritated by the discipline being handed out to players doing the right thing and playing the game in a spirit that we love. The Chandler incident against West Coast last year was a real shame and was unfair to make an example out of him in that moment. It's a hard game to play as it is, let's not keep throwing brain candy at these guys.
  12. I thought it did too and it was his forearm or bicep that collected Ballard's head as secondary contact. Defenders would be rubbed out every week if this was a crime.
  13. The JVR incident is actually the perfect example of why he's there. It's otherwise a routine defensive mark for the opposition and here comes the kid out of no-where making something happen out of nothing. It's been so good to have.
  14. Taken from @WheeloRatings site Centre bounce attendance: Oliver 86% Viney 71% Petracca 54% Grundy 50% Gawn 50% Sparrow 43% Jordon 25% Harmes 11% Pickett 11%
  15. I mean, it's a pretty impressive stat. But then again my 'infatuation' with Collingwood apparently needs serious medical attention..
  16. That's right, do what we have to do to qualify for the tournament then bring your best. Pretty happy to fly under the radar right now collecting wins.
  17. I'm still shocked that the incident was replayed as much as it was and then to hear it was going to the MRO was shocking. It was a bad accident, players get hurt.
  18. We saw what happened with Kozzie in Rd 1 and when he seemed to get caught in two minds when bumping after that. Decisions like this are going to turn an amazing young prospect in JVR with great endeavour into someone who will second guess that contest next time. It's rubbish
  19. This is an absolute disgrace. We are now punishing this great young man's physical ability and playing for the ball. Please MFC do not let this slide, they cannot keep getting away with this tripe.
  20. Well said, they are human and are beatable. It's taken a while to break it down but eventually someone will figure it out. It would be kind of nice though if I could pay a compliment to another team in this thread without being insulted by a low range poster who hasn't contributed anything of substance here yet.
  21. Job done again by the Pies, I know the thought police don't want to hear it but they are in this position for a reason.
  22. FIVE REVIEWS
  23. Probably because he kicked a goal against them once.
  24. When does the red line go through Sydney's season? Maybe not yet
  25. It is kind of funny hearing the love in the media for the way Freo played last night like it was a big achievement. Anyone can drive a car safely for 5 minutes, let's see them in a Grand Prix under actual pressure.
