This gets forgotten about a lot lately when these incidents get discussed. It's as if us arguing that the act didn't deserve a suspension means that we think that footy isn't tough enough anymore and that should have been play on. The JVR incident was the perfect example of this: Attempted to play the ball, incidental contact high and should have been a free kick against him, period. I believe this should have been the same outcome.

Going to take the benefit of the doubt path on this and say I think he was going to leave this week independent of the result last Sat night. It's never an easy decision to call time on a place you've called home for over a decade and with all the success he was able to achieve I'm sure he would have preferred to go out a different way. I haven't always loved his actions as a player or coach but I wish him the best.

Especially when you keep using them.

Leeds also in the frame but would have to beat Spurs and hope for an Everton loss due to poor goal difference.

I just thought of something, we've been super accurate this year and it's been great to watch. However at this point of the season, would people have preferred us to be like the previous few years of inaccuracy in front of goal but a consistent level of intensity/effort OR be generally accurate in front of goal but put out those 3 honker performances and times where it has looked like we've picked when to go. No right or wrong answer and probably a silly question but just a little Tuesday morning brain candy.
