  1. Maybe the 2000 Olympics year? Looking forward to the Boxing Day Bonanza!
  2. They should be sorry, it's extremely inconsiderate of them. But honestly it does put your life out if you are faffing around with public transport at near midnight and have an early start the next day. Not everyone's footy going days/nights are created equal like yours. As for having a few months notice, when has anyone ever planned ahead for a cold winter night that might deter them from going that day, the funds they will have available or the cruddy feeling of taking an hour to get home from the MCG late on a Thurs night? By that logic if you're going out for dinner in a few months you should have a much better chance of knowing what you're going to order because you have plenty of notice.

    Almost worth it really.

How the Bills aren't topping that division I'll never know.
  5. Well look what we have here!

Really missed Maddison and Van de ven, important to the structure. Villa in two weeks then City, will be interesting to see if they can bounce back.

Gee it's a hard tipping comp this year.
  8. Been a fan most of the year. Would be slightly disappointed if we didn't end up with either him or Mckercher but that looks likely.
  9. I never liked it either, it ranks alongside the argument that you need to be big in stature to be a captain.
  10. He’s right up there. The thing I love about Neita’s story is the leader that he became in his time as skipper. Plenty of off-field turmoil as you mentioned, the Crown incident and the age-old argument that you ‘cannot captain a team from full forward’ to contend with but I believe his leadership improved each year. They all walked taller with Neitz as captain. Garry was the best natural leader we had in my time. Connected so well with others and well respected in the league captaining Victoria one year.
  11. We'll make it.
  12. Been a little while since I checked the ranking but Ethan Read appears to have been a bolter? Running ruckman with good ground coverage. Any chance he could be in play?
  13. The new jumper thread got me a bit paranoid..
  14. Very good news, we need our leaders.
  15. Couldn't agree more. Most people I know like Thurs night footy for the TV aspect and something to do but very few of them are prepared to go to the G on a Thurs night and do the whole nine yards with transport, crowds, expenses etc. I'm sure there are people here that are happy to go on Thurs night and the TV ratings are great but I personally don't like it.
  16. No problem at all with him getting a rookie spot. You need honest toilers as many have already mentioned.
  17. Happy 1200th page day.
  18. One of the best captains we've had.
  19. I say go over there and spoil the party.
  20. Ikon Park be there or be square?
  21. Very moving service, plenty of legends in attendance. The football memories were great but it was much more than footy or Melbourne. We got to see the person and his son Ron the 3rd's speech was possibly my favourite.
  22. Do you know how much? You'd hope it's $300 or something
  23. Have you ever used one of those rental power banks here? Wonder what happens if you don't return them.
  24. My phone battery is churning up fast due to maximum screen brightness here on this belter of a day.
  25. I just did the same thing. This is the guy that refused to wear a handed out St Kilda scarf for Shane Warne's day service. Not expecting much more than regulation speaking circuit stuff.
