  1. I've always maintained that if Nev and TMac could have played out just average seasons we would have finished top 6. That' just a win or two more than we got. My main problem would be to see Nev in the black and white.
  2. 6. Christian Salem 5. Mitch Brown 4. Christian Petracca 3. Bayley Fritsch 2. Max Gawn 1. Jayden Hunt
  3. Bryce Gibbs, Matthew Kreuzer and Connor McKenna have all announced their retirements.
  4. Melbourne doesn’t do 8 point games very well but it will have to if it wants to remain a contender. Simple as that.
  5. Strange that nobody mentioned the fact that the Hawks dropped their #21.
  6. Probably doesn’t make a difference but I reckon that once a player is deemed to be unable to play at all for the remainder of the year, the proper designation should be “season” and not “indefinite”.
  7. Great news. The Dees playing deep into September again!
  8. If Preussy kicks a couple, gets 11 touches and 13 hit outs (as 2nd ruck) as he did in his first game last year he will be well on his way to earning his spot.
  9. Yep - one shocking umpiring decision can turn a game around and if one game’s turned around, it can change a whole season.
  10. All over for Hawthorn and $cully.
  11. That game v Essendon from Round 3 is now officially a bye.
  12. Demonland is now the club’s unofficial selection panel.
  13. Can we now take it that our Round 3 game v Essendon has been cancelled and both clubs officially had byes in that round?
  14. The strong sides often take the opportunity to blood new players in games against lowly sides and so, with due respect to Adelaide, that might be the game for James Jordon to debut.
  15. Too right. If Tomlinson kicks straight, we're 3-2 and they're 3-4. I know if your auntie had hairy armpits but ...
  16. You’ll have to make binman a regular guest!
  17. Daniher hasn't played for two years. I can see another Harley Bennell scenario where he plays once every four weeks because he needs to be rested. Enough.
  18. 6. Max Gawn 5. Clayton Oliver 4. Christian Petracca 3. Ed Langdon 2. Steven May 1. Michael Hibberd
  19. 6. Brayshaw 5. Gawn 4. Viney 3. Oliver 2. Petracca 1. Tomlinson
  20. As often happens when a new coach takes over a dispirited team in mid-season, Teague had a good start to his career. He gave them freedom, their confidence lifted and after a win at home against an over-confident and cocky Brisbane, they had a run of games against other teams in the lower region of the ladder. They won a few games and Teague was appointed permanent coach. He’s going to have a tougher job now with the clubs having more time to scrutinise the players and the game plan.
  21. They are mostly Casey players with a sprinking of Demons - mainly younger brigade like Rivers, Bradtke, Jordon, Bedford, Hore, Baker plus Jayden Hunt and Josh Wagner.
  22. Just wondering whether with these injuries (including Nietschke's season ending acl) it might make it more likely that a Pre-season Supplemental Selection would be utilised?
  23. Would we take both Jackson and Kemp - two players who will take a few years to develop?
  24. The plot thickens. The Suns get to pick a player from Darwin and the Dees get peanut shells. Suns' likely Darwin pick set to bring pace, pressure and tricks
