  1. White shorts always signified the away team. A jumper always signified the Team and its colours. What is your take on the carlton Jumper last friday night??-I an interested
  2. Yes i agree, i was quietly barracking for essendon last night, but they were absolutely woefull. Just a bunch of closet street fighters Essendon. Any way Carltons run is still reasnoably hard, as is ours-so we just gotta keep winning!! We owe the Shockers one...
  3. A social club is needed, one that all MFC supporters can and hopefully want to use.
  4. Owning something and almost having an opportunity to own something are two very different things. So it is not an issue to spend millions on a boutique stadium we may only use 1-2 a year. Can't see the logic in it anyway now we have re aligned with the MCC. Now is the time to grow attendances at the MCG not take games away.
  5. Well said, imagine if i said to my Dad "I don't want Melbourne to make the finals this year, so we ensure we do it better next year" My Dad is 75 and i am sure he wants to see as many finals as he can before he goes upstairs, as do i. Those who prefer a ladder finish of 9th deep down are scared of success & the spotlight.
  6. No i have never had trouble seeing who my team is, and that is the truth, that is why this whole thing gets up my Cruits. It's B.S. Last night Carlton as the away side wore their (disgusting albeit) trad jumper against Essendon. 2 Dark jumpers i would say. Did i have any trouble seeing who was who...No none at all. But i have seen many times where teams with less of a clash are forced to wear different jumpers, so the whole system is flawed. I am glad they didn't, but why did carlton last night not wear a white strip? Because certain teams get looked after thats why, and the AFL do not want to get on the wrong side of large supporter bases,as it effects the $$ returns. Last night was a classic example of why we should fight to wear our Trad Jumper to all games. White Shorts are fine (Tell Sydney that one day please) White Jumpers are a sign of weakness.
  7. wow those figures are staggering-Collingwood get all that money and the Golden fixture. This will not do.
  8. STOP IT!!!! i was sitting behind those goals at the main scoreboard end...I saw all those misses...Quit it now!!!!
  9. From the Game against Geelong at VFL Park until the sadness of the Prelim-i was walking on water in '87 it was trully surreal. I hope we can do it again, would certainly help Jimmy's recovery-all that positive energy. What are the Bookie odds on us playing finals at this stage?? I think we will get in, if the players stay tough and play each quarter hard.
  10. Fair comment WJ, but without Norm Smith RDB would not be the man he is. Without Stynesy this Club would not be standing in the AFL today as it is. These two men are TRUE LEADERS.
  11. HaHa! Let it go. That's just the attitude the AFL is hoping supporters to have...well said 25 you just showed your hand. I will take this arguement to my grave, as i do not want to support that insipid and weak looking jumper that is white. If i am wrong to think that-well so be it. I am not the only one who is [censored] off at all this corporatization of certain rules and directivess that are totally unnecessary. FIGHT THE POWER. (great song)
  12. Could it be the AFL is infact wrong?? has this thought been canvassed at all??? I am yet to see a real clash, although i am told of them-I watch games and always i know what team is what-although with all the "new" jumpers i do get confused sometimes, and that does p@#$ss me off.
  13. I Beg your Pardon. You are the one who just said you are all for the Clash white strip 100% You my Friend are the one who is confused and easily led by AFL directives..Keep your eye on the Red & the Blue....(no mention of white in our song-how interesting) I am rock solid on what i believe-never cloudy.
  14. Jim Stynes stands along side Norm Smith for that Honour. I consider them equals. Maybe a Statue outside our new Facilities is in order.
  15. Now the job of the club should be to acrue assetts that make solid residual income, so that we can forever stand alone and be strong, with our members and at our MCG wearing Red & Blue.
  16. Now i really hope the club plays in september. We are Melbourne old but new...That is a mighty poem.
  17. It most certainly is not...the white strip dilutes the power and the passions of the club, just that little bit more. This issue deserves an AFL member Referendum to sort it out.
  18. I have never and will never look down upon the MFC with disdain. I save that for the AFL who are the ones driving this disgracefull campagn. Is anyone aware of the imposed fine if the away team refuses to wear the "surrender Jumper"??
  19. A boutique stadium is only usefull to a club with a small supporter base. I don't see that problem with the MFC as long as the club continues to grow itself. This is a different club than it was in 2008, to upgrade casey would cost a packet, and many supporters would not get in. At the 'G seating is never a problem and we are guarranteed $100,000+ each game. North melbourne will not be in victoria within a decade.
  20. How do you fit 40,000 + members into a little boutique ground in 2 years time. North are doing it because they are dying. We are just waking up. Our Home Ground is the MCG-By all means build a 15,000 seat social club though, so we may watch interstate games on the big screen as a supporter base.
  21. Sure, and just like "Racetrack" i believe in the Red & the Blue. And i will not deviate from that. When people surrender they wave a white flag. It has no place on our Jumper, the Bulldogs chose it-they can have it with open arms. When people are watching a game on TV and have to ask who is playing-a problem does exist. The Clash strips are faceless and neccessary only because Vlad & Anderson can see a dollar in it.
  22. A new Debt Free House will always inspire Pride, so the new Facilities can only help.
  23. Whats wrong with standing up for what you believe in I.D.? Better than Kow Towing to the AFL, who have a pretty poor record when it comes to Public Relations,i mean they change their minds on rules and regs every half hour.
  24. No i think more to the point I.D. you are a closet Footscray supporter. When i Belt out "It's a Grand old Flag" there is no mention of white. Just Beautiful RED & BLUE
