  1. No.
  2. I think you will find Iv'a was joking. This website may be of use.
  3. On a different tact, all beat, if it all goes well, cliché avoidance should be a basic fundamental. (Malaphorism)
  4. Ban bad punctuation - grammar and spelling two.
  5. What are the relative merits of the ablative absolute when delivering team instructions in Latin?
  6. That's why God invented "screen capture". And the technical term Greeny is looking for is "son-father rule".
  7. Plenty did disagree with me at the time. "Where's yer source?!?" and "Unsubstantiated!" and "Speculation!" and so on, and so forth, blah, blah. My information was solid - not speculation. Where is $cully now? The club played the game precisely as Roost It said:
  8. I know of a 1980s VFL footballer who photocopied his grand final ticket allotment and sold them all to a heap of desperate punters, only for that heap of desperate punters to all show up to the same four seats. The club had to pull some tricks to keep the dudded punters sweet. Not as grubby as the Scully saga (or as tediously drawn out) but a small indication that the VFL/AFL is full of shonks.
  9. The club were not hoodwinked for a minute. I posted this March 3: Melbourne merely played along with the charade to keep the water smooth - on the surface, anyway.
  10. Reported today that $cully $enior was ringing around list management groups at different clubs, trying to glean more information about required skill sets, etc. Who gave him the contacts? GWS could hardly employ an assistant list manager with rock all experience AND pay him double what every other assistant list manager is paid.
  11. Not often you get two byes in a row. (We should be well rested for our blockbuster against GWS.)
  12. Leon made AA in 2011 because Malthouse made him a sweeper, the easiest position on the ground.
  13. Yep. We talked about that further up the page.
  14. The good: Not hurt, despite what appears to have been a nasty stack; Not driving; No police charges. The bad: Fled* the scene, even though it was his own car - would you flee? Why did Colin flee? And was he hoping the car would magically appear at the panel-beater? Drinking (possibly boozing, but how many drinks is unknown) the night before IR training; Attracted fire from the AFL; Put Melbourne in the news for the wrong reasons - again. Further consolidated his reputation as an Official AFL bad boy. Rampant speculation - like mine. * "Fled" implies so much more than plain old "left". Bit of a surprise the media are yet to use it.
  15. The fact that Sylvia was involved in a crash at breakfast time makes him a cereal offender. Boom. Tish. Thank you. I'll be here all week. Try the veal.
  16. I may have made a slight miscalculation there. According to Old55: We would get the first pick after the ten non finalists, which would be pick 11. But since there are four clubs (including us) eligible for first round compensation picks in any of the next few drafts, it is pretty difficult to nail down the exact pick number.
  17. Idea! We tank for 1, 2 and 9.
  18. Maybe - most likely, even - Kennett was boozing it up with some Melbourne heavy hitters, one of whom said/joked/thought-out-loud: "Hey, Jeff old c0ck, I wish we had a president like you. You'd love to run the Dees. Give it a shot."
  19. In short, Denham's article could be a lot shorter: A headline A repeat of the headline A contradictory, ahem, confirmation from Kennett which, on one hand, reveals he has had approaches from clubs, and on the other hand, reveals that those approaches were from concerned powerbrokers not currently employed by clubs. Background and old news, some of which is tangentially relevant A separate story about the Hawthorn elections (A note about Red Adair).
  20. Journalists often talk about issues in the electronic media one day to set up their subsequent article the next day, or later in the week.
  21. With you there, O55. I thought King was a bit sharp, but the more I listen to him, the more I think he tries too hard to make clever points, but instead says the bleedin' obvious or make big statements that flop.
