Not just his kicking. No one in history makes more mistakes. Drops marks, fumbles, misses goals, overruns the ball... the works. Not going anywhere with Bugg in the side.

Reads more like the Demons website blindly republished the AFL's press release.

You're kidding, right? Labor's re-election is a certainty.

For some reason my brother and I were at Moorrabin with our next door neighbours (they were big Saints fans). People with radios were talking about Hudson's tally - 8 out of 9 at one stage - and then after Hudson went down it was all that anyone was talking about. Possibly because Hudson's previous game was the 1971 grand final, when Hawthorn beat StKilda.

Not sure we are quite ready to penetrate #ClarkoFooty. They seem to be back to a well organised unit, we are slightly off speed. Plus, with O'Meara and Mitchell added to the mix, they'll get their share of the footy. I'm eternally pessimistic, but our efforts against #ClarkoFooty don't boost my optimism.

Hard to know whether Collingwood is much better or Adelaide is in collapse after a horrendous 6 months. Bit of both, I guess.

Possibly tautologous.

If Wagner is doing exactly what the coaches ask for, and there is no one obviously better to go past him, he has to be picked.

Where are StKilda at? Next time you bump into a Saints fan, whisper in his ear "Petracca, McCartin" and watch him start sobbing.

Compare the 2016 game at the Dome against StKilda with the three games this year. That Saints game was the infamous "they're out the back here" game. We are slowly developing our forward defensive game so that we are able to better trap sides in our forward line. North snuck out early, but we were able to put the clamps on them before too much damage was done. The key is to replicate the forward press effectively against the better sides.

If it says in the rulebook that you are not allowed to look at your opponent, even if you don't touch your opponent, the rulebook is a farce.
-
You are allowed to take your eyes off the ball, as long as you don't interfere with your opponent. (Sometimes the umpires preempt this and make mistakes.) Lever looked away, then copped an elbow/forearm to the bonce. Free to Lever, for me.

"One kick away from 3-0" is deceiving. Geelong are a dubious prospect, while Brisbane and North are also-rans. We use the ball like we did against North and the good sides will slaughter us. We are spluttering along. Viney is our most important player (with Max) and TMac is a key piece of our puzzle. I don't expect to beat Hawthorn. Feel free to slap me around if we win. I won't feel it. But I am really looking forward to Richmond.

Bomb it long is going to lose us too many games. Teams like WC and Hawthorn set up to defuse the long bomb and will slaughter us going the other way. We must find a smarter way to take the ball inside 50. We certainly now get enough of the footy into the forward 50, but the slingshot sides will eat us up. #ClarkoFooty

The commentators were too busy raving about Majak Daw to wet themselves over a Melbourne player.

Not in the best 10 players under 23 according to AFL.com.on.drugs: http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-03-27/top10-under-23-we-rank-the-young-guns

We tanked to get better draft picks, then got penalised for not tanking. Tanking comes from tennis, where players intentionally dropped a set to conserve energy. Now we have belatedly discovered how to properly tank, at least by its tennis definition, as we drop quarters to conserve energy. Sorted.

Does that mean Melbourne gets a licence to print money?

I've been saying for a while that this will be a Geelong 2006 and Richmond 2016 year. The question is: can we turn 2018 into a flag year? I'm not optimistic. We need outside speed, height, more grunt from more players, and smarts (we continue to play dumb). I worry that Goodwin is superficial sexy moves rather than repeatable flag style footy. In short. I worry.

Be shattered but not surprised. #ClarkoFooty

There has been a rumour buzzing around that Tyson was out because of his role in the cancelled camp. I know of it said by a footy heavy hitter. However, David King on SEN basically said it was bull tish.

Yes. Kicking cleanly into the forward line is a product of midfielders finding clear space in which to kick. Our onballers are either too light to break tackles and get into space, or not quick enough to get themselves into space (or both).

I like to think we were a good side beaten by a good opponent, but I'm not sure how good Geelong is. Ablett and Selwood are all time greats, tho. So Geelong can't be too bad.
