Disappointing performance overall yesterday. The margin should of been greater to the Kangaroos. Having said that, the Kangaroos will go no where this season.
The positives: - S.Buckley, P.Johnson, C.Johnson (again- someone has definitely flicked his switch to ON), B.Miller, S.Martin, S.Valenti, N.Jones.
I liked what I saw in C.Sylvia in the 'last quarter'. But I want to see much more of that determination within him consistently.
I saw spirit in the last quarter too between alot of the boys. I want to see more of that, take the game on type spirit.
Daniel Bell is a confidence player. He possesses great tackling techniques, is physical, has speed. What he needs to improve on is his decision making skills under pressure, his awareness, and his execution. Dean Bailey is aware of this. At the moment Bell is standing on 'thin ice' to retain his place in the side for next week against the Bombers, due to poor execution at critical stages of Sundays game against the Kangaroos.
Unfortunately some statistics don't tell the whole story even though the stats don't lie.
34. Seen finals in '87 (very big highs - elimination & Semi's; very big low - prelim final & Buckenara/Stynes), '88, '89, '90, '91, '94, '98', '00, '02, '04, '05, '06. I think it's about time for a Premiership for the MFC!
Go Demons!
Davey will be stuffed after 5 minutes on Boomer ... he has the speed, can hurt Boomer if Davey has the ball ... but I doubt very much Davey can go with Boomer for even 1 quarter.
Firstly that $5 million is overall debt. Gardner and Co. I think when they started inherited that sort of figure and they had wiped some debt off, but this year and last year has seen it blow back out. (with a loss of $2million expected this year). Due to a mixture of poor performances reflecting lower gate receipts, coterie group(s) pulling the plug, lack of big sponsors, etc it all adds up.
From what I heard, and someone may correct me on this, but the Leighoak alone has cost the MFC $1million.
That would be the best outcome and the most preferred. But if you had the choice of selling home games at Canberra or Geelong, and the AFL gave approval, where would you rather the team go?
That is exactly what this poll is about, choosing to sell home games to either Geelong or Canberra for a comparable return.
And the votes are coming in...
This was suggested on SEN this morning on KB's show. Why does Melbourne insist on going to the nations capital for the Dollars with moving a game(s) to Manuka in Canberra. Why not take a home game or two to Geelong and yet still get the dollars! Or better still satisfy Melbourne based members by having one game scheduled at Skilled Stadium where many MFC members find it easier to get to, the other in Canberra.
