I was of the opinion of Caddy > Boak in terms of priority. I'm a bigger fan...

Federer may have just made it near impossible for Nadal to catch him having stretched it to 17.

Yeah, well done Macca and good thread. You tipped it IRW and we'll do it all again next year. I'll tip Froome from 12 months out !

They're just trying to get their heads on tv most of them. Think it was stage 9, there were 3 male spectators on each side of the road during the time trial with their dacks down mooning the approaching cyclist. Obviously had a skin full waiting to bear their nether region to the world. Agree on Voeckler. Imaging if he'd been ok in the first week ! Last year he was dominant in the first week or so. Last night he attacked and attacked and made the stage very interesting to watch. Got to admire him, he blitzed them. he looks exhausted on occassions and then all of the sudden, bang he's gone. I reckon he foxes with who he is riding with. Does it very well. Cunning. That was the last nail. Nibali doesn't stand a chance either. When you've got class like Wiggins and Froome and riding to instruction. dare say it's bloody hard to make a move. Evans seems to be struggling and his preparation prior wasn't what he'd like. He's the oldest le Tour victor since World War II and should be proud of his achievement last year, this year he's been up against a very strong team. Honestly, Wiggins is Ice Man, he barely shows any pain and remains calm throughout.

Anyone for cricket?
Haha. How Lee got roped into singing in India is one of the more bizarre things coming from a cricketer. But I suppose you only need 0.01% interest in India and you've got yourself a fan base....

Echo these sentiments. On a lighter note, not many excel in Bollywood. Binga is right up there with Tania Zaetta.

I don't know exactly what took place through negotiations etc, but I gather there's much to do with MFC's list management and Bruce's true market value at the time being the sticking points. Had he signed on reasonable circumstances, he'd have chalked up 250 games as a one club player. Not to be. That said, he was a good servant and representative of the MFC during his time at Melbourne.

Lol. Hit the pillow with 40km to go and missed the tacks debacle. Nice to read what Wiggins instructed to his Sky teammates and wait for the reigning champion.

CYCLING
Did anyone notice Wiggins' bike before the start of the time trial ? It differed from the standard IMO, obviously been passed by Tour organisers, but I can't help but think there was some sort of advantage in it.

CYCLING
Has anyone seen Wiggins get out of his seat on the climb ? The bloke doesn't raise a sweat. Cool, calculated, he doesn't leave Cadels wheel. Where's this guy been ? I reckon if Voeckler goes early tonight like last night, Cadel and some BMC riders should go with him. Try and break free from Sky.

Federer makes it seven Wimbledon titles. Mighty effort; class player. The Queen looks into ways to deport Federer from the UK after defeating Murray.

Aussies getting a lesson in England. Hoping Australia can get it altogether for next years Ashes.

I wonder if Cadel is referring to Frank Schleck seeing that Frank is a bit behind in proceedings. He'd be ideal help on the climbs.

CYCLING
I also know very little but I can't help admire Cadels confidence in his team. It's over 3 weeks so when the Pyrenees and Alps come around it will be interesting to see the support of teams Sky and BMC. Evans had to battle the Schleck bro's last year alone, I have confidence he can do it again. Rogers is a big plus for team SKY leading them up the initial stages of the big climbs. Tonight's time trial will be very interesting to see if Cadel can make up any time. Last year Cadel put in one of the best time trials late in proceedings. Let's see how Wiggins handles it, he will attack to try and put more time on.

CYCLING
Sky team surprised the commentators with Wiggins support crew led by Rogers for most of the climb. Let's see how they go for the 3 week tour .... Froome out pointed Cadel with ~ 200m to go and Wiggins stayed in touch with Cadel for the entire climb (big confidence booster).

The No T$ No B$ Thread
Davey is contracted for another year IIRC, Gysberts is coming back from a broken jaw which last time I looked is a hell of an injury to get over. Last week he appeared short of a run and was more involved in the last qtr. He needs more game time to regain confidence and importantly form before being considered. My guess is Gysberts will be considered soon enough. As for the others I do wonder about Petterd, I see others in front of him for the time being. What's disappointing for me is he hasn't progressed as I'd hoped for, to me he showed signs of being a dangerous forward/half forward. He has put it together on occassions but they're as rare as hens teeth. I feel Green's career is coming to a close at year's end. For Morton, I think it's up to him for the remainder of the season re: his future. He must take on board what is required; if he is left at Casey for the next several weeks, they may be stamped. Couch I wouldn't have thought would be going anywhere just yet.

I stayed up for it right until the end. Paying for it today though. I held fears that 3/4 of the peloton would go down. Ouch. Cavendish was not a happy camper. Yeah, Macca stage 7 I hear is a must watch for Saturday night. I'll try and get back some sleep for that one.

Anyone for cricket?
I've always thought that cricketers that elect to move and play for Sth Aust have been told they have limited options. In other words, I reckon NSW have been honest with him and said, "Phil, we are looking at our openers for this season and we see you getting (very) limited opportunities given your form....there might be an opening spot for you in Sth Aust." It's happened to a few VICS over the years.

Agree on relying on time trial. Cancellara finished 2nd for Day 2, Sagan won the stage. Cadel Evans finished 20th, Wiggins thereabouts as well. Same time. Cancellara yellow leaders jersey, Wiggins 7sec behind in 2nd, Evans in 8th 17 secs behind. Good work Macca on including stage charts.
