Two weeks ago I got a bill for $570 for replacement of the radiator (which I'm not paying), 4 days later the same issue presented itself (overheating) and a reconditioning of the engine plus another replacement of the radiator (under warranty...go figure) was required. $1770. Originally the second time around he said I was looking at ~$1100. That crept up by $670. Talk about deflating someone's tyres. No B$ - (on topic)

Just heard all out for 278 having been in a meeting. Lost 7 wickets after lunch and Clarke was retired hurt....wow Nasher, I hope you're at the Test. May have a good finish.

He's seated in first class with one exception with his booking. He's to be served no meat. Clarke has again shown good leadership and decision making. Looked superb again with the bat along with Hussey scoring his 19th century. Wade was handy with the bat again.

The de-caffeinated half-caff with a twist of lemon was his downfall. That and lifting the 'lid off the Ark' in AD's absence ..

Yep.WYL, how many pages are you looking at in your book? Hopefully you're talking to producers about a movie (series even)....and a book launch....wonder who will play WYL in the movie? Alan Alda? 50shadesofWYL book launch will be bigger than Ben-Hur! Must be chapters on "Batting first", "Top 150", "Michael Clarke", ..the list is endless. 50 chapters would fit in well with the title..

I'll have ever lasting memories watching Boxing Day tests at the ground and whilst away down the coast on holidays (watching the last couple of hours of play from tea) of Warnie mesmerising batsmen. I'll recall those days when crowds gathered around monitors when Warne was bowling. That's it, Warne created interest in cricket and was a must watch for many people. People flocked to see him turn the ball almost square and see the batsmen tremble.

Whilst we're looking for 2 more...... how is the publicity on Warne and his fanning of a possible Test comeback? Bit of a pipedream, but he's still going on about it. Must be growing tired of ol' Liz and her safety pin dress...

Some may have a better memory than me on what he said, because I tend to tune out. But he had a fair bit to say on our recruiting during the trade period. Worst on record apparently......

Sometimes I reckon KB just says that sort of stuff with tongue-in-cheek. Just egging Denham to continue the crusade.I did hear Denham say yesterday morning that, "Heads will definitely roll at Melbourne..." , he also added that he thinks the 'inquisition' will go into the new year. Guys (& or girls), It's unfortunate that the previous BEST XI thread created a couple of years ago has disappeared for some unknown reason. I would have liked to have used it as a reference, but it looks as though we'll have to start afresh. Have been contemplating doing another Best XI (Test) for the cricket tragics here. The most we can have is 8 players so if you're interested let us know in this thread please. We'd ideally like frequent visitors to this thread who are keen on having a go at this. So that the Draft doesn't take too long. However, I understand work and other committments make it hard to visit every now and then, plus we have all Summer...... Once we have the 'eight players' locked away I'll create the thread. For those who haven't played before it's like a Draft. I'll get eight names and eight numbers, draw them out and that will be the draft order. Each subsequent round the order will reverse. (For equalisation purposes). I think the last time we had : - 6 Bats, 1Wk, 4 Bowlers as a template. So, we'll use that again. Why eight players ? Because it amounts to 88 players worldwide, which is equivalent to 8 international teams and it gets difficult if we have any more players. ie. 9 players would require a 99 player pool and we'd be scraping the barrel for players. So register here and we'll get the ball rolling eventually... I'm prepared to also source an independant judge - and if I can't get one I'll be the judge (non player) - if you like to analyse the final teams (via criteria yet to be determined) to determine which team they think is the best team. I think I'm with you re: 3. What other options do we have? Some of the shot selections were again disappointing. This is Test cricket, the amount of mettle shown would suggest T/20 was just around the corner.

Losing a wicket on the second ball of the day reduced the spring in my step, TD. I'd like to see a miracle.

That would mean we would have to be found guilty of tanking old dee, for a sanction. It would also mean opening a can of worms including a lengthy legal stoush for the AFL including other clubs. Maybe this thread should be referred to as the No Tanking, No BS thread.

Don't know about anyone else, but I'm looking forward to what is left of this Test.
