Good idea, however gloves are becoming a minefield with the AFL. They have banned some types, which offer an unfair grip advantage, so really unless you have a medical reason, like Lynch's loose finger which his glove protects, then your better off not having one. Also gloves can effect the drop of the ball when kicking. Lynch has started to take his off at set shots so really there are few advantages.

Interesting commentary on Fox. They are claiming that whilst Geelong is one of the greatest teams, they are too 1 dimensional. Apply some pressure and disrupt their natural play and they will struggle to adapt, will fumble and turn it over. Interesting theory. For me Stevie Johnston added that element of unpredictability, with him out, I can see how they can be viewed as predictable. Throw in a quick Krakouer and Pendlebry and you can see the results. Macca, its because of that list that I believe we won't win another game this season. I understand you wanted to get some stuff off your chest, but next time lay off the attacks such as the ones in your first post. I'm not giving up on the team, far from, I am just being realistic that I don't think we will win another game. We are playing too poorly and the competition is playing too well. You're absolutely right, the third ranked player for receiving frees for dropping ect. played with the Selwoods at a junior level. I flicked on the TV this morning to watch something quick before work and it turned back onto FOX sports and it was broadcasting a game between Collingwood and Geelong in 2011... ironically right when I turned it on, guess who (Joel), had the ball near the boundary, was under pressure, could see a tackle coming, did the classic lower his body and threw his elbow up moving the player's arm off its original course and onto his face. When a player deliberately ducks and there is high contact the umpires dont pay the free... that should also go for it a players who deliberately move their arms in a manner to make another players tackle become high.

I was watching the post match footy show on FOX and Dermot pulled them out.

'rjay', the club has been criticised alot about playing new draft picks too early, there will be times when he will have to go down to Casey and if he gets injured. I think it was a good trade - particularly considering Viney has an injured toe ATM. Anyway didn't we get him for trading a pick over 80?

WCE always drop when tackled - I think its Hams in particular that always throws his head back which is boarderline diving. We learn't the hard way last year when WCE had 20+ free kicks at half time against us... at the end of the day if you play against West Coast, particulary at Subiaco - go for the hips.

I have a feeling Rodan was drafted because no one expected Viney to play so well/so many games. There is merit in some of the trades... Pederson I'm still trying to work out

That's why last year we secured Hogan and Barry through the mini-draft for debut next year, and chose an undeveloped mid, Toumpas, instead of a developed mid Wines. So thats 3 coming through next year (2 mids and 1 forward) Ps, If this performance keeps up we should get a few round 1 picks

What you have said has merit. People claim great coaches have to be charismatic and a 'bit left of center', examples are Sheedy ect. Not all follow this but if you look back on some coaches over the past few years there is a theme.

Macca, I have told you I know about the repercussions if we don't win - I have said already, most likely in this thread that if this continues, we will be first but not forever. I have said that I that I don't expect us to win another game for several reasons - and you have criticised me for not being realistic... given our current list I think I am being fairly realistic. You keep telling me to get into the real world, I am struggling to know what this entails. Let me lay it out for you. I am a strong supporter for giving MN the time (his contract) to improve, I am long-term orientated and believe the long-term list and cultural change that we need will take a while, which no one said it wouldn't, and that it is more important than short-term results. I don't believe, with our current list, that we will win anymore games this year. Whilst this isn't the situation I want us to be in, in the words of Ned Kelly and ruined by Ben Cousins: "such is life". I love mojitos, long walks on the beach, reading poetry - particularly the ballads of churnalism by Caroline Wilson, game of thrones, all things January Jones. I don't like Collingwood, Jeep adds, or anything Koshie. Never said we would only win one game for the season. The reality is our list is bad, its an awkward period between of getting rid of dead weight, and future draft picks which we have selected/secured coming in - thats fine with me, rebuilding takes time - I would have approached the seniors a bit differently but no use crying over spilt milk. Don't know why you are heckling me. Said this all before. If you want a fight go to stuie or RR - otherwise you know where I stand. Ps, given our predicament, I don't think appropriate goals are "to win games". How about increasing tackles by X%, improving fitness ect... something that will make us become team that can compete - rather than winning games which is what teams who CAN compete struggle with.

I am fully aware of what will happen if we don't win any more games this year - but guess what, I'm being realistic and think that we probably won't.
