  1. thought jake's ruck work was as bad as i've seen from him. comprehensively beaten......pretty well agree with the rest
  2. nothing article. all based on the word "if". of course they would be interested if hogan declared he was going home to wa. Do you think they would say they wouldn't be?
  3. my impression too. lot of room for improvement from some. A few really carried the load. Dunny bog for mine
  4. well yeah, over-compressing is another big problem, but i don't think you get a reading on that on your telly
  5. he took a mark in the last quarter and the commentator said he had been "superb" today.......sheesh
  6. yep, haven't seen him so completely beaten in the ruck, and by a guy a foot shorter. completely out positioned and outthought. the couple of taps he has got have gone nowhere. we badly need a backup for maximus and jake aint it.
  7. yes, but that includes up-scaling. not the same as filmed in 1080i broadcast in 1080i
  8. he's had his chances though and not taken them
  9. port melb ground has always been a dump, earl. pathetic decision by vfl to play finals there
  10. good quarter boys hope spencer picks his game up, getting a bath in the ruck from a much shorter guy
  11. yeah, think i may have mistook him for garlo a couple of times
  12. garland showing great run and carry - who would've thunk that?
  13. middle of the ground reminds me of the old suburban vfl grounds. plus the 50m arc only a metre or so from the centre square. wonder why they couldn't play at carlton. wonder if the locals still spit on the players as they go through the race
  14. you a life-coach now, pro? next you will be giving stuie moral advice. lol
  15. i've even been known (on an adventurous day, and with the appropriate apparel) to make it as far as the wilds of box hill north, bbo
  16. it's because you get great box choi there, wyl
  17. west coast and freo can't trade their 2016 + future 2017 round 1 picks as they would fall foul of the afl's 2 first round picks in 4 years rule neither club used a first round pick in 2015 the only way they could trade 2016 + 2017 first round picks this year is if they gamble on being able to trade-in a first round pick next year (or year after) and then use it in the draft that year so, scenarios of getting 2 first round picks for hogan this year directly from either freo or wc are pretty slim. 2 first round picks could only be managed by involving a more complicated deal with one or more other clubs involved
  18. you're right jesse, got caught in a moment of weakness.
  19. there is nothing contradictory about being performance enhancing and having other desirable medical benefits. why is that such a hard concept to understand? there is also a documented procedure in wada whereby in certain cases and for certain drugs under certain strict conditions, permission can be given to use banned drugs for medical purposes.
  20. you don't give up do you? i didn't realise you were a pharmacologist. it's on the wada banned list as a specific product as a performance enhancing substance, not on the s0 generic category. i know whose expertise i would consider most credible
  21. talking of langford, what happened to him? was playing some great games last year then has seemed to disappear
  22. it's not a question of "out thinking" it's a question of which way the cards are stacked and which side has the better strategic position. if it is given he wants out for compassionate reason and this leaves us with a max of 2 possible clubs to negotiate with then we are not coming from a very strong position and have fewer options than if it was a normal open market stuation. i don't like our position if he decides to leave for compassionate reasons......ymmv
  23. crows can be such a hot and cold team
  24. think we have more sources than gnf, luci, though without searching the archives i can't be too sure
  25. Caro, Matthews and others were discussing Hogan on 3AW today. Caro thought he was gone and others thought 50/50 but all based on speculation rather than "facts". They then discussed why he would want to go back home. They talked of all the usual WA stuff and even a thought that Jesse was a "different cat", but not once was there any mention of illness or any other issues in the family. Not even any broad generalisations in that direction. That struck me a strange because surely journos get a lot more info than we do. OK, they may have a pact to not talk about it out of respect to the family but if so why go to lengths to discuss other reasons? Why not just skip the reasons? It just didn't make much sense to me ... anyway make what you want out of it.
