  1. contaminated land, od. won't be fit for (real) humans for a century or so
  2. it might all be nothing but wishful thinking, but, i get the impression the mfc has got some political support in the right places, guess we will know which way it is going one way or the other in maybe 3-6 months?
  3. not at all. currently labor seem to be sympathetic. if they stay in power the odds shorten in our favour. richmond council or any other local authority don't have any definitive say in the decision
  4. so if the greens beat labor, that will just be more incentive to dan to make it happen?
  5. i thought the libs weren't putting up a candidate in that state electorate
  6. When the melbourne cup becomes a best of three races, then it might be time to discuss it
  7. alarmist politics, left of stalin?............are you confusing me with another poster perchance?
  8. i certainly can't see him taking the role of pavlich as freo dream of he may have the football talent of pavlich but not his other attributes
  9. bad choice of word (victim) then. "suffering the consequences of his actions" would be more appropriate
  10. oops sorry... you're correct dw. i meant to say perpetrator. put it down to a senior brain fart
  11. It's sad when the meaning of english words get expanded and twisted to fit whatever the latest liberalist agenda of the day is gaff is not a victim. he is a protagonist just having to deal with the consequences of his unsocial and stupid actions next we will call criminals victims because they have to do a stretch in the big house
  12. here's one out of the nostalgia bag for ernest................. seeing the thread title with "be like max" reminded me of the old days when we had snail mail and people actually wrote letters. a lot of wags used to write witticisms and acronyms on the back of the envelope. the one i remember was hey mr postie don't go slow be like elvis and go man go
  13. also got a lot to do with kick:handball ratio
  14. king gee and chisholm are casey demons sponsors, mac. see http://www.melbournefc.com.au/casey-demons

  18. next you'll be telling us the catholic church is just a business, smokey ?
  19. i understand the afl is obsessed with profit, it is self evident. the afl was originally setup with the agreement (and behest) of the clubs because the individual clubs could never agree on most issues and they needed an organisation which could fairly look after the interests of all clubs, and grow and protect the sport. it is a not-for-profit organisation that wasn't specifically setup just "to maximise profits". however, the afl has over time more and more put the pursuit of profits as its highest priority and often only played lip service to the interests of the lesser successful clubs, or the fairness of the competition
