I'm certainly no authority here, but I hear this comment "Clearly this isnt working" everywhere. This implies that there is a methodology that does work. If so it would be a world first. I can't see the logic that just because one approach with one player "doesn't work" that the methodology is the reason. Experience shows that there will be some who people can't be helped no matter what. I'm not saying the AFL (as agreed by AFLPA) method is the best one, I wouldn't have a clue. Just amused how one event brings out so much uninformed opinion.

Latest rumour (from son of bootstudder) is Bruce to switch codes and become a poster boy for Rugby League
-
Wouldn't worry about JT - will be a star Will be as good or better than TS. I sense there will be a friendly rivalry here, both are so dedicated to getting the best out of themselves, A bit like having two young Nathan Buckleys
-
Maybe, but its subjective. He does have a history of in-the-back free kicks But I was also talking about disposal turnovers and up-in-the-air kicks Still, I thought he had a reasonable game (with too many mistakes, like Bruce) P.S. little criticism of Wona's game
-
If you are going to be objective James McDonald had more turnovers/frees against than Bruce. Bruces game overall was reasonable with some mistakes, but I would say that the whole teams's performance was highlighted (again) by too many silly turnovers and poor disposal. There would be many more players to be critical of than Bruce in this game, who seem to get little or less crtical comment.

I didn't mean to jump down your throat specifically. What I mainly objected to was the assumption by other posters that it was some sort of fact re $600k who then went on to assume it to bag Bruce, when in fact it was just the opinion of one anonymous poster. I don't have a problem with any poster posting any rumour he heard including yours (depending on content/context) I have no way of knowing your bonafides nor the accuracy of your memory (nor do other posters). You may be accurate or not, but such pronouncements should always be challenged Lets just leave it at that I like to think I treat all Demonland posters equally (at least initially). I'm not so sure you are my elder though
-
Didn't see any mention of a $600K package Nor did any other link I could find on internet mention any figure I'm happy to accept he is one of MFCs better paid players (quite deservedly), most people accept that I don't think other posters should just accept $600k as "fact" just because one poster said he heard it 3 1/2 years ago And lastly a "jagged little pill". LMAO. Whatever that is, sounds like something E25 would use I await bucket loads of abuse . . .

just threaten to substitute for cat
-
According to FoxSports the referenced contract was to the end of the 2009 season. Bruce signs contract That was my reference . . . not claiming it was infallible
-
So you are relying on your memory of 3 1/2 years ago of a "chat with a few folks from the old admin" about his previous contract, not his current and you can even estimate the performance content for this year! Pfffft! Yeah, sure
-
Interesting on how everyone is an expert on Cam Bruce's salary package Its all conjecture You wouldn't know his salary package i.e. what/if component is performance based, whether it has a front or backloading component, whether he has a promotional component etc etc Someone here just quotes a figure and everyone just goes along with it - what a joke
-
agreed, you would hope so, but they are not perfect and anyway players don't always follow instructions either but in principle you are right
-
It was hypothetical Read what the OP said "I heard from a family friend of his (who could still be wrong i guess)" It is just common sense that if a player focussed on one muscle group AND ignored a related muscle group that this could cause a strain to that muscle group I have no idea whether Gysberts has a slight OP condition or not But no doubt you will have the last say
-
as usual you must be right
-
Not convinced on the "nice guy" analogy, but I do agree that Newton is a nastier type of person
-
you should reread the previous posts and link I thought it was explained adequately the stronger opponents (he had a light frame) caused him to do bulk-up weights He didn't strengthen all the required muscles in a balanced way Hence he had an imbalance placing extra strain on groin It was only minor and should be easily remedied Not too hard to follow
-
haha, good one

As an aside, a second round pick this draft is more like a 3rd round pick in a normal draft
-
Yeah I'm sure we would like to see. Post the link. Will be very interested to see if you go ahead with the painting. Would be great and I bet you could sell a bundle of prints. Maybe you could do a deal with the club Good luck
-
Well after the insipid form of (most of) our forward line and Miller's good form at Casey he probably deserves a game on form alone, whether he is leaving or not. Coupled with his long tenure and being a good clubman, I have no problem with him getting a last game, if indeed the FD so decide Re Gotch, definitely not his position to announce delisting. I hope it was just a genuine misunderstanding/mistake.

To be honest and trying to be objective I couldn't split Goddard and Jurrah But, if I was forced, Jurrah by a bee's d**k
-
Well PJ only had a handful of hitouts last week and according to the Hun zero to advantage (plus a handful of disposals) So Newton hasn't much to beat. More pinch-hit than ruck though

actually I thought previous poster said the opposite the genuine 2nd ruck position to go, and be replaced by a part-time ruck with good forward potential its only a theory though and the AFL have not made a decision on limiting rotations yet
