If Collingwood had only beaten us by 10 points would we be having this conversation, which by the way, I'm enjoying immensly

There's 2 more that should be added

Maybe the mods could roll all the Liam posts into one

We have to accept on field mediocrity because that is where this team is at. No coach would change that. The older players such as Bruce, Green, Robertson have never shown real grunt as you call it. JMac yes but he's old now. Whelan yes but he's finished. Mclean shows ahat grunt he can but he's a very limited footballer, probably due to his injuries. Moloney too shows some grunt but he too is limited as a footballer. Miller, well same again. It's the young ones we need to look at and well, they are still too young and underdeveloped to play with real grunt. In saying this I understand what you are saying but I think you are expecting too much from this group, at the moment

I was only mucking around, no insult intended. My point is that the club as a whole has no intention of winning more than 4 games. We can call it what we want but that is the objective. Effort is still required from everyone but winning is not the focus. We are trying to teach kids and develop[ strategies and skills and fitness for the years ahead. I call it tanking but their are other names for it

Thanks for agreeing with me

Fact White, Neitz, Yze, Robertson, McDonald were all in the twighlight of their careers whan Bailey arrived. White was killed by the centre circle, Neitz was crippled, Yze's talent never translated to a team oriented gameplan, Robertson as never going to be much as a key forwatrd and the skipper's just plain old. None of these things could any coach change. Bruce is getting older, he won the best and fairest but let's face it he's never liked the game hard and fast and that's what it is today. Fact. Green had his best year last year as did Wheatley, Them's the facts Mo Fact Miller is playing like Miller has always played, an honest toiler who will be a good 3rd or 4th forward. Mclean isn't upto any game plan at the moment but prior to his injury last year most had him leading our best and fairest. Jones is still learnng the game, his decision making isn't great and his skills under pressure need work. Remember Mo last year he was pretty much our number 1 midfielder due to injuries but I suppose that's Bailey's fault. Bate's Bate, he's ordinary below his knees and is slow, he'll turn out ok in the future. As for Whelan. Fact is Mo his body was finished 2 years ago, again don't see how that is Bailey's fault Morton When you write Fact Mo try following it up with something that is factual not just more anti Bailey rubbish.

Sorry, meant to say the club will be tanking if and when it's needed. Currently we're just not playing to win. I know their's a difference I'm just not sure how to put it in words!
-
The guys I'm talking about are the senior players you and Mo believe are underperforming due in part to Bailey. I'm saying that they haven't underperformed. I'll also add that, bar Green, and probably Bruce, the rest are finished as footballers and there is nothing that Bailey or any other coach can do to change that. Suggesting that it is because of his coaching is just plain wrong
-
What are you talking about. Bruce won the Best and Fairest, Green has been playing easily his best footy since Bailey arrived. Robertson and JMac are past it, even Wheatley had his best year under Bailey. Whelan has been injured. Facts Mo, we need facts, not fiction

The best way to do this is stuff around with the team and positions , train the squad hard during the week and lose every game until the final 3 weeks. Then put the best available on the park, all in the right positions, back off on the training and see if we can't win the last 3 games. Send us off into the preseason with a touch of opptimism as well as picks 1 and 2, Boom shanka. And yes, the club is tanking and no we won't win more than 4, guaranteed, put your house on it.
-
Richmond will beat us, as will North. Port probably will too, so don't worry. Picks 1 and 2/3 are wrapped up
-
Who's he going to tap it to?
-
Agreed. There's no room for Mclean, Moloney and Jones all in the same team. Personally I think Mclean's been the worst of the 3. Moloney is still one dimensional. Jones has age and a sound body on his side and also seems determined to improve as a footballer. With Scully and Grimes coming into the midfield it's going to be impossible to play all three. Personally I think Mclean's finished. I will say that I'd never thought I'd say that so early but he's slow, his disposal has become poor and his decision making has deserted him. Moloney will still get games but off the bench. Our midfield must become elite if we are to win a flag. I've never seen the MFC with an elite midfileld. I hope they can pull it off, our future may well depend on it.

Get a second job

OUTS: JMac, Robertson, Bell, Whelan, Wheatley, Johnson, Buckley, Newton (just pay him out) Rookie Outs: Valenti, Zomer, Healey Elevate: Spencer, Mckenzie Picks 1,2,18,34,50 Pre season: 1

Yet you believe a team like Geelong or Hawthorn would give up a first round pick for him in the last semi legitimate draft for several years. Rivers would get us about pick 30 - 35 if we were very lucky. He'll stay a Demon
-
The Roos seem to be in alot of trouble. Surely Laidley didn't dserve to be sacked. The list is weak and the injuries keep mounting. Tough gig being a coach.
-
I don't share your confidence this week. Essendon on a roll could make us look really slow and very ordinary. If that happens again with a national audience we're going to look pretty bad. Let's hope this doesn't happen and we go back to the honourable loss scenario.
-
Rivers is no longer the number one backmen he once was. I'm hoping that with a full preseason he'll keep improving as a player. Frawley looks to be the number 1 backmen. Warnock takes the hulks, Garland the mobile forwards and Martin could possibly be moving up forward. Rivers is the backup, the second man in. He'll end up on the 3rd tall when the others are all fit and playing. In my mind, he'll play an important part in our future but it's not the guarantee it once was. Having said that, I'd trade him if another team wanted to pay over the odds.
-
Currently this is correct. But having only played 3 games as a forward I'd say there's an upside. It'll take some time and a full preseason of forward training. The last 2 great Demon forwards both started as backmen so I'd say the club will explore the possibility.
-
Well we do have a strong backhalf and a very weak forward half. I like his size and pace, hard to match up on. Let the opposition chase him around.

OUT: Wheatley IN: Scully Call what it is, shameless marketing, but hey that's the world we created.
