Unreal. I was there when Lyon kicked that torp, a 16 year old kid. I was there when Robbie kicked that goal against Nth in the Elim Final in 87. I want to see a flag.

The thing about getting someone like Dylan Grimes is that you have an idea what sort of character you are getting. We know that Jack is a great kid with a good head on his shoulders and he has shown already that he can cope with the pressure of senior football. These attributes that have been instilled in him from his upbringing and probably genetics. Its a fair bet that if Dylan can play footy chances are he is cut of the same stuff. Would like to see him at our club.

Jesse Smith walks out on North Melbourne
jabberwocky replied to Demon_Tingles's topic in Melbourne Demons
No more injury prone players, we are setting ourselves up for disaster. A strong healthy list can take a risk of a Jesse Smith. We don't have that list. If we make the wrong decisions now injuries could be the difference between winning a flag or not. -
As much as we'd like to we can't get all the first rounders.

Looks like Ball is headed for retirement then I guess.

There is an athletic ruckman Nathan Vardy who I reckon is on our radar. Youtube him. He has very good endurance and moves nicley.

Grimes will be a favourite of all of us....................if he can stay on the park. Embodies everything you want in a footballer. Jurrah for excitement. Col Garland is up there and hope he heals up well. Have a soft spot for the Russian. Any man in the red and blue who puts his heart into his game and head over the ball.

The meeting was BS. SEN reported that his manager phoned them and said he has never met with the Dees. That and I think flash is still O/S.

Is Davey back from Bali?

I would like to see us play this week very cool. With all of the activity there is a good chance that a player of some quality will be available to us in the PSD.

I now long for the day that the opposition look at us and wonder who to tag. That what makes a midfield great and is crucial to a premiership. Ablett, Bartel, Corey Voss, Black Power Lappin
-
If they stay on the park pretty close I reckon. Frawley and Garland also possibilities/ A couple of roughies, don't all laugh at once. M Jamar, N Jones.

Not very gracious in victory are we? Get over yourself mate. Just post the bit where I was wrong? What I posted were facts ie: -your recent predictions hadn't come to fruition and -that second hand info from journos that they won't print is unreliable and shouldnt be trusted. First hand info from journos is unreliable enough. I admit you were right with the four years........ so one from three is not bad but still not reliable.
-
A: The MFC must draw a line in the sand and not draft any more injury prone footballers. B: We have four top draft picks which gets us the best young available talent in the country. Of the 16 clubs of the AFL we are the ones least likely to need or want recycled players unless they come free or very cheap. Ie from the PSD or surplus from Geelong.

I am saying that what you post needs to be taken with a grain of salt.... and you state that your sources are journos. Why then will a journo then release this exclusive and supposedly reliable information in anonymity with no reward to you and not in the media where they recieve kudos and financial reward? And as you admit you needed to qualify one of your statements after it did not eventuate and it still hasn't eventuated. You must admit it gives grounds to be suspicious of your information. I am not in the habit of badmouthing people, at the same time your credibility thus far is at best unproven. Even you have to admit that.

Demon 3 claimed some time ago that he heard that Baliey was going to sign a one year extension tomorow. Has also claimed that we were interested in Jamie Charman before the season ended.

I believe in fairies but its much the same thing
-
Fact is he has kicked taken grabs and kicked a lot of goals and has done so with a lot of eyes on him in finals pressure situations. He looks like the kid that wants to kick the winning goal, not the one that fears taking the shot. His rating has definitely climbed recently.

I think the magnitude of what this club is trying to achieve is eluding some. The club is rolling the dice. No longer interested in mere comeptiveness, finals appearances or even grand final appearances. Despite some people suggesting that mediocrity is being accepted the opposite is true. It is about premierships and premierships only. This club is no longer wanting to just survive it wants to thrive. Get on board.

You reckon Dr, I thought he moved pretty well. Players his size are never really going to be really quick. Not that I am making any such comparison but Jon Brown isn't that quick. This kid will grow to be a very strong man and has a presence about him. I don't do the bandwagon thing but I wouldn't like to see him at another club.
-
Nathan Vardy will be seriously looked at at 18 I reckon.
-
Very, very impressed. I can't comment on any of the other boys but this kid looks the real deal. He moves well his hands are good and he is big and strong. 196 cm gorilla forwards who move well aren't that common..... and he performs in finals under pressure. I think the has kicked 20 goals in 3 games?? Has an air of confidence about him too. Doesn't move to far from goal so either that is his role or he is limited by his fitness. I would be very pleased to see him on our list.
-
Really really like this kid. Big, strong boy with good hands and a strut. His stocks are rising.

No JA I think he means yarran instead of 11.
