I also blame welfare. Without welfare idiots would die. These days welfare enables them not only to live, but to breed, thrive and buy computers. Should we start another thread?

I always take Mick Turner with a grain of salt, according to him all of his boys should get drafted. But he does have good athleticism works very hard and has hunger for the footy. There was a bit of a knock on his kicking but I beleive he has tidied this up nicely this season. Has 31 goals from 13 games in 2010. http://www.sportingpulse.com/team_info.cgi?action=PSTATS&client=1-3020-27620-0-8059232&pID=189744973&pname=Joshua%20Walker&news_task=DETAIL

Agree with JCB, he would be a big chance to go around our first pick. Very smart and capable big man. From the little I have seen of him he moves like Chris Grant.
-
Josh Walker I really like the look of this lad, have seen him a couple of times for the Falcons and Vic Country. Would be a nice option for a second or third rounder. He isn't just a lead up target, he gets involved and loves to lay a tackle. He also takes strong contested marks and kicks goals. Averaged a few goals a game and doesn't always play close to goal. Truth be known I prefer him to his more fancied vic country team-mates Lucas Cook and Tom Lynch. If developed he could grow into what we need. Tried finding some video, no luck! http://www.aflphotos...d=209150&page=1

Problem with Shane is that he can only play one role and that is as an engine room mid. This is why he is compared to Mitchell and the likes. Sam Mitchell is much the same in that he can only play this role. He doesn't have the pace to play a defensive role or the goal kicking nous to play as a forward. This hurts him. If Valenti went to a club that neeeded such a player he would pick up his 25-30 possessions every week and use it well, but he comes with some major limitations.

I believe Blease will be a very good player for the MFC. I see a very clear team role for him. I have less concerns about him than I do about some of our other higher profile recruits. Remember that he played a lot of part games in VFL reserves (in which he did well and looked a class above) before dipping his toe in at Casey seniors. It was never about this year for him. From what I saw of him he looks every bit an AFL player.

Urine extraction surely.

Great player and a champion but maybe should have pulled the pin mid-season. Has been getting a game on reputation for a while now while blokes like Moles and Everitt play in the twos. I wonder if the Akermanis jibes affected his decision to keep playing?
-
When Barry Hall is/was on song he would take the ball at full tilt and iron out anyone who got in his way usually on the lead. He also did much the same when the ball was on the ground. Obviously a thug, but also a very good footballer as stated when on song. Not however in the slightest bit soft. Would have loved a mentally stable Hall at the dees.

Brother in Bailey. The words you speak are true, surely you are a prophet. According to the book of Akermanis "with greater head punchability great deeds will come henceforth."

You have completely missed the point. It has nothing to do with anything affecting Bruce's decision. It is about the club. The club gets to have 2 veterans effectively extras on the list and have only half of thier TPP in the slary cap. It was going to be Bruce and Green in 2011, with Junior gone. With Bruce gone as well we would be failing to take advantage of the Veteran's list. If the club believed or suspected that Bruce would go, surely the decision to let Junior go would have been different or at least delayed.
-
Player's can't switch clubs and go on the Vets list.
-
You misunderstand. It's all speculation but my point is that if Bruce goes we effectively have 2 spots on the Vets list and only one veteran (Green). If the club wasn't confident of re-signing Bruce then why would they have let McDonald go.
-
Which still leaves a spot for another?
-
Why would we have retired McDonald? Doesn't this effectively leave a Veteran's list posi unfilled. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Many of us know the story of Samson of old testament fame whose strength lie in his locks. The parralels between he and Lynden are stark. Clearly the mo has some shortcomings, it has the appearance of a well manicured nomadic eyebrow. For the sake of Lynden's career and the MFC it surely has to stay. His performance amongst the opposite sex will surely have nosedived since it's appearance. Perhaps we can organise some volunteers or "martyrs" if you will. Please ladies...for the sake of the football club!

Agreed. I would say that Jurrah is better overhead, Franklin is clearly stonger. Like Franklin and Goodes Jurrah could play most positions on the ground and be damaging. All are great movers.
-
I really like him standing on the head of opposition players.

Try Josh Walker. Geelong Falcons/Vic Country. He would suit us nicely. Suit a later pick. I am sure I have seen footage of him, can't find it atm.
-
Very simplistic assessment. I would say that at this stage we are looking at finishing well ahead on the last two. That being said Jamar is the player we could least afford to trade.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/101646/default.aspx Interesting to see that the AFL website has listed Cam as of interest to Gold Coast. I must say I would be very surprised if it eventuated.

Geelong did not wake up one morning and begin playing thier game plan well.

Talented KPP don't grow on trees. And he is that. Remember that he is only 20 years old (a year older than Watts) and may have a lot of development left in him. There are stories out of Adelaide that he is a bit of a hero. Also that he is not happy with Neil Craig. I would hope that the club would try to speak to him and at least do due diligence. He has good hands, is a good size and contary to some beliefs has very good skills. If his head was right he would definitely be worth a long hard look. I need to go and headbutt something now for allowing myself to be drawn into this.

Agree completely. Moloney out/not fit hasn't helped. Stoppages have let us down over the last two weeks. No surprise against the stronger Hawks in the wet and Port Adelaide were desperate and pressured us all day. I haven't checked the numbers but it seems our tackling has dropped away too.
