  1. The response of the melbourne faithful singing the grand old flag was gold, but i agree with most posters on this subject, there is banter but then there is banter with malice. since coming from ireland the thing i liked the most about AFL football is the fact that opposing fans can sit together and enjoy some healthy banter. i used to hate the 'us versus them' mentality that soccer has. i used to live in london near Arsenals ground Highbury and u literally couldnt go outside ur door on a sat afternoon for the fear of violence. mark my words i have had some 'healthy' argumnts at Dees games over the years(Usually against the filth) but always was a shake of hands afterwards, win or lose. The last thing the AFL needs is violence in our outside the ground, but its up to the AFL to stamp it out. A friend of mine said that he says it was nothing compared to the days at Victoria park where there was tons of fights week after week, mostly filth fans battering each other, whick isn't a bad thing, explains the lack of teeth. the genuine richmond fans must hate seeing this crap, lets hope the AFL do something.
  2. well oh my God if everyone seem to like it then i better go with the flow and change my opinion!!!!!! Pardon me for having one. i just dont like it, the southern cross?? the trident?? too much in a small space. i like the shape of it and the colours.
  3. if its the logo thats in the Herald Scum today i thinks its a shocker, too much going on, shame, thought we were bringing back the demon?????
  4. yeah, i was at it, great laugh with miller and robbo, we were watching the game behimd the glass, i have to say miller is a top bloke, he remembered me from the plane to darwin. robbo loves the sound of his own voice i must say. and its obvious he still wants to be out there, yze and browny were ribbing him about how good the 24 looks on LJ, very funny. it's amazing listening to the boys comment during the game, they see stuff a lot quicker than the normal bloke, neita was great too, he reckons that greeny is probably the bravest player he's played with and is underatted by others outside MFC. i agreed. they were getting stuck into watts a few times with his decision making. but all think he will be a star. Ricky 'bobby' petterd rocked up too, he is a very popular bloke with the older boys, they took the [censored] but he held his own. the boys congratulated him on signing the contract, he said he was never going to GC, he loves it here. all in all a great day, was a bit surreal sitting drinking beers with that team, what a decent bunch of lads. Whitey is now ruck coach at GC, good move. yze looks as fit as ever. if u ever get a chance to go to one of these events its well worth the money carn dees
  5. Pull your head in Hannabal, the bloke is allowed his opinion. This was meant to be a positive post about Jimmy, we dont need you attacking other posters!
  6. Yeah, it's a real concern at the minute, i really don't know what our game plan is, i know people will say its playing through the corridor but you dont have to be a master coach to figure that out. we don't have a plan B, thats what worries me, and to be honest, that is poor coaching, DB bangs on about developing players, but who??? Chip? Grimes? Scully? and Trenners?, they are natural footballers, I could develop them! Look at Morton, he is 10 times worse than he was last year. Watts hasn't a clue where he's meant to play. you could see the frustration on the kids face yesterday when he had nobody to kick too in the last qtr. the players def have to take some responsibility too, no question, but in the end it rests with DB. i think he knows its gonna be squeaky bum time for him at seasons end if the improvement doesn't come, if we get the spoon he's gone i feel. When we're up we are great, when we're down we look like the worst team in the comp. Lets hope he sorts it out, i really pray for that. for me 8 wins is the target, and i cant see where they'll come from.
  7. Has anyone ever noticed how Julia Gillard and matthew bate are never seen in the same room together???? something to think about landers, something to think about
  8. i'm not religious but lets all pray it does disappear
  9. its no theory mate, i too have seen the strongest minds and bodies dwindle away and the worst kind of people survive, its an unfair disease, but there are those who just give up and they slip away without even fighting, that is my point mate. Jimmy won't give up, even if it does get him at the end, he will have given it all he's got.
  10. its really hard to say Daz. it may be a matter of time. i agree with you, i hope he pulls through. its a horrible disease, and thats being polite. but in what i have seen the human spirit and will is just as important as any treatment, mental toughness is key to defeating this bastard of a disease. spirit, will and mental toughness is what our Jimmy has in spades, so lets see how he goes, he won't hold back, he won't give up, he needs some luck too. as i say to patients i look after, you're only dead when ur in the ground, if ur still breathing, keep fighting, thats what jimmy is doing. he will give it all he's got, lets hope it's enough. our thoughts are with him and anyone else out there that is dealing with this disease, that includes the families, its just as hard for them too. a lot of u may not have known that last week was Mens Health week all over the world, the slogan we had was Men: Look After your Important tools! it was a time to ask questions about your own health and wellbeing, check you tackle boys, do it regular, from an early age. i am happy to answer any queries via email here if anyone has any questions, would be confidential obviously. we all want to be fit and well to see our boys lift the cup, its not far away, Carn the Dees
  11. thanks mate, its tough, sorry to hear about ur mother.
  12. i'm not saying this is fact for Jimmy at all, but in my experience this is how the treatment usually goes for tumours such as these. the fact he has no new tumours is def encouraging but the old ones are still there which is not. i am only commenting on experience with these situations.
  13. If they find some new Tumours then they will probably do more surgery, unfortunatley any surgery is pure salvage surgery, as in trying to extend his life, there is no curative surgery now, its gone too far.
  14. I am not a very religous person as an irishman, but hearing this i havent stopped asking the big man upstairs for a favour with Jimmy. I'm in the medical profession myself and by all accounts this is as bad as it can get for the man, but jimmy being jimmy nothing would surprise me, lets hope and pray that he kicks its arse. you only have hope, look at lance armstrong, that man should not be alive, but he is. Jimmy you are a true champion and hero to us all, on and off the field. keep up the fight. your a Paddy, we love a good scrap. good luck mucker
  15. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Although i'd love to seen him get lined up by Beamer. Ah Well,
  16. Well said mate, who cares, i thought it was funny, just a group of young lads having a laugh, there is a strong bond there, hence a winning side, probably the best in decades. so what. and lets face it, footy players are not rocket scientists!
  17. going up tomorrow arvo, cant wait, staying for the week, going to kakadu for a few days and on a fishing charter. will try get to the function on fri eve, what time is it at???
  18. BROCK IS GONE!!!!!!! GONE!!!!!! CAN SOME OF U LEARN TO DEAL WITH IT AND MOVE ON!!!!! HE WALKED OUT ON THE CLUB TO CARLTON!!!!!!! HE WALKED OUT !!!!!! its in capitals as i am shouting. great news about the brothers though. great for the club, especially up north. good on ya MFC. Keep the signings coming, Rick Bobby next please AGAIN BROCK MCLEAN HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!!!!!!!!!
  19. i certainly didn't clap the boys off at the weekend but there was one bloke, probably about 50, wearing a Crystal Palace soccer shirt(red and blue stripes) who was giving the team a torrent of abuse, Richmond fan like, it was a disgrace, Watts got most of it, and Davey, some of it racist, i am not a violent person but its the closest i have ever come to knocking somebody out in my life, and to be honest if i wasn't in the MCC members i probably would've. what a complete tool, he was a lucky man he got out of the ground, there was people baying for his blood. fans like this we dont need, there 's passion and there's just plain stupidness. hope i don't see him again. Crystal Palace are rubbish too, i think i mentioned that to him!!!!
  20. As an Ex-KOP season ticket holder (moved down here) i cant remember a more disappointing time to be a Liverpool Fan. What a shambles of a club at the minute, 7th is all we deserve to be honest. Rafa tried but lets face it he failed. Time to go, if he loves the club he should just go, but he's looking for his payout. sad. All the rumours are flooding in, Gerrard to City 40 mil, Torres going. O'neill in, Hogson in, who knows whats true. All i know is that if one of gerrard or Torres goes the other will follow, a chain reaction will occur, with many more on the way out too. Whats the solution??? The only way we will keep the big names is to get a WORLD class coach, Jose would be great but all he knows is money, he'll want 100mil, which he won't get, FACT. thats why i feel Hiddink is the man, he never turns down a challenge, and players want to play for him. Any opinions????? YNWA
  21. are u unwell? go into a dark room and lie down and think about above post, the get up, punch yourself in the face, then go lie down again!!!!
  22. i agree with the McLean sentiment, and if we win i'll be at the race to give him some more. Travis def didn't deserve to be booed. great player, sorry to see him go.
