I don't think there is any penalty for appealing as it is a submission to them and then we get told appeal denied. Can someone clear up a query I have. If we trade our compo pick that is behind our first pick in a draft, does it remain in that position or become the pick after the club that receieves it. In other words if we trade that pick to GWS and they come last next year, is the pick then 2nd pick in the draft or still where we finish? If it is the former we should be in first place to get O'Meara with the 2nd pick in a strong draft.

It's very simple really. Ask yourself if you would trade Scully for picks 14 and 20. They are the picks we are likely to get under the formula. The answer is an obvious no. We were offered picks 8 & 10 by Port for pick 2 so they could get JT and we said no. How is a 2 year more experienced Scully worth less than what was offered and rejected for JT?

Answered on other thread by Darren. It was a private matter that had nothing to do with the MFC and CS was quite angry we had been blamed.

Remember after this year 9 of the first 15 picks are not GWS. Therefore you move up the order by 8 picks so the compo pick becomes far more valuable.

Now someone please tell me how if true and a number 1 priority pick at 20, being offered in excees of $1m a year for 5 years and the Captaincy at his new club is not worth the number 1 pick in this draft plus another mid first round pick. We will not get that, but anything less other than 1st pick of the under 17's plus another first round pick is nothing less than theft. The AFL is determined to make GSW succeed and we all accept that but they also act for us as well. They are determining our compo and if we are unhappy 2 other AFL employees are acting as an "anomaly board" to hear any appeal. Any conflicts there so far? Unless we have done a deal with the AFL on this, if we end up with less than what was offered by Port for Trengove's pick before his drafting, we have been royally screwed by the AFL and it will be time for MFC supporters to rise up or forever be known as weak. If we are weak don't expect more from our players. I await the next instalment with dread.
