As I said on the Moving On thread, I would be happy to keep Gys if he dedicated himself to improving his endurance and core strength, starting today. However from what I have heard his attitude is all wrong and he is unlikely to commit to the work. That is the real issue here, not his undoubted talent. Maybe we ask him if he is prepared to buddy up with Jones for the off season.

Disagree WJ, just can't see Eddie letting him get to Carlton and for nothing, especially after the last two weeks. They will up the offer and give the last year and delist/trade a few to do it. I am sure David would be happy for his son to get 5 years at $900k each and then he can say we took less than was offered to stay loyal. I am not homophobic, but does there need to be an Ad on the Demonland Melbourne Demons Forum page at the top headed " Meet Gay Men Online". There are young kids on Demonland and I think it is pretty ordinary. It seems to be alternating. Now it says meet Asian Women For Love Online. Gee.

If I can dare to be positive, clubs can change dramatically overnight. I think it was 2009 when the Swans changed their team. A good draft and trading period saw many new faces in their side. Kennedy and Mumford from other clubs, became stars. If we act wisely we can do the same.

If we knew for sure that we would get Grundy, I would imagine Martin and Spencer then become surplus. With Russian, Max and Fitzy, plus Mitch to help out if needed, we would be well covered.

Let me throw a cat among the pigeons. If Tippett goes to GC and Crows demand pick 2, then GC would not risk nominating JV. Also if Crows got pick 2 I don't think they would take an U17 and would rather get Grundy or Toumpas. Grundy would replace Tippett. That could leave us in the position to get first , second or both U17 picks and that would guarantee us JV in second round. Also I can' t see GWS risking Lachie for bluffing on JV, which in my first scenario could see him slipping to us. Some interesting things may be about to happen.

Agree with that. We should learn from it though.

I think what gets up most fans noses, is that everyone seems to know who we should get early on in a draft and when we don't and then that player becomes a star and the one we took is going nowhere, the recruiter has gone and we are left in sh-t.

Hopefully it's more of a case that they don't see what we see. Let me say as a postscript that Cook and LJ leaving are 2 huge disappointments for me. I hoped Cook could show something and LJ would be back thrilling us.
