Not being sexist at all and in fact it was my wife who is more annoyed than me. More of the women grunt than the men and they sort of squeal and scream. It wasn’t around years ago and is a modern phenomenon.

The grunting by the women tennis players, is not only disgusting and off putting, but imo bordering on cheating.

What the hell is going on here?

I am just waiting for the next Michael Warner smashing of the MFC. Probably due the night before our first game.
  5. Could be handy if we become insolvent.
  6. I did say “ most” not “all”.
  7. That is surprising if true, as most players starting again at a new club, usually put in the effort to arrive in good condition, to impress their club and give themselves the best chance of success.
  8. IMO his disposal fell apart. His turnovers made him unplayable. A very good Demon for a long time and wish him well at his new club.

Amazing how Maynard incident is now illegal after he was allowed to play in a GF, same as the ridiculous Barry Hall punch 100 metres off the ball allowed him to play in a GF. Both important players in their club premierships.

Herald Sun today has an article on bananas, calling them a superfood. Just proves this thread is also a leader in foods and nutrition. We have known how good bananas are for years.

I am not afraid to declare my weight at 90kgs down 3kgs in last 3 weeks. Aiming at playing weight of 85kgs tops.
  12. Just checked and he had 2 years left at end of 20 when we tried to trade him. At end of flag year in 21, with 1 year left, presumably as a reward for a good year, he was given a 2 year extension to end of 24. It was a straight out extension and had nothing to do with taking a cut, which presumably would have been reported if it was the case. Anyway, hope he has a good year.

    No worries.

You have a 50% chance of being correct. Not sure that qualifies as a wild guess.

We can negotiate a new contract tomorrow, as there are changes to the list every year and we probably know in advance several of them. That is a list manager’s job.

Give him an increase and use some to rent a house for his family for the season. Jobs for all can be found if necessary, with the clubs contacts. If that is the real reason there are always solutions.

Agree and in 2 years when his contract is up, you could probably also add Max, Smith, Viney, Schache and some others who may be moving on. It won’t be our salary cap that is the reason he leaves, if he does.
  18. Might end up a mid.

You are a genius BBO. All I could think of was Ena Sharples from Coronation Street or Alf Garnett.
  20. Disagree on both points. My recollection is that Tom, after a good season, was given a 4 year contract and there was no pay cut, or extending the contract to help the club out. There is nothing wrong with having BBB, Tom and Schache all coming out of contract next year.
  21. There is no doubt that decisions are made in sport and in this case footy, by clubs about the abilities of players to play in various positions and to play to a certain standard. It seems to me that for reasons of pride, tightness of lists, or whatever, some of those decisions are never revisited by the makers of them. That is why some players leave clubs and go on to successful careers at other clubs. Of course others are never heard of again. I have always thought it is a difficult decision to make in many cases. Just look at the divergence of opinions among the fans. As an example, I thought Deakyn Smith could make it for us. The powers that be differ. That is their job to make decisions and no doubt they are often difficult and lineball. I accept that if these decisions weren't made, playing lists would hardly change.
  22. My post if you look back at it, was directed at bringing a fresh Schache on in the last quarter and was not about the actual selection of Tom to play in the game. I think its a bit unfair to say a criticism of a player is a cheap shot, just because other players made mistakes. If you can only point out things when everyone else is perfect, we should all stop all criticism of our players and Coaches. Can I mention the times when Tom was in the forward line as the second ruck and didn't get to the contest a few times? My point is that we had a fresh bloke on the bench and he could have been used. Would we have won, who knows?
