Bar one kick, Tom has been very good so far. Watts again among our best. Is anyone else concerned about Tyson? He gets caught all the time and when he gets one away, it is a poor disposal. Wagner has killed us with his only few kicks, all have gone to the Saints and cost a couple of goals. I know though he is only a rookie. Where are you Mitch White?
-
He has. He has dropped three marks. Only positive, a good handball to Jeffy for a goal. Appears very rusty. He will come good.
-
You may be right. His man has 3, but others stuffed up to make them pretty easy. He looks more a winger to me.

I am not really into the "P" adjectives.

Could Melbourne have Western Bulldogs-like resurgence in 2016?

Treloar, Aish and Howe say hi. -
I didn't see it, but it is worth one game.

I posted before I read the best players for the Pies. Interestingly, the first 6 of their mids I named, were their best players, plus Moore. We are on the right track. We need to develop, recruit/trade and retain players. However, the good teams cherry pick players from other clubs and get them. We need to get to that level and then do the same. Who were the best two for the Pies, Treloar and Adams. The Cats best of the NAB challenge, Dangerfield. The Dockers best yesterday, Bennell. Even the Blues' best, Kerridge, etc. -
Probably have to play a few games each year before you can be considered.

I was having a think about the list and tried to see where we could realistically be at. No doubt we have have a far better list than 3 years ago. However, lets compare us to a similar rival the Pies. They have better running backs than us, I think it would be fair to say and their tall backs of Brown, Frost and Reid are probably similar to ours in Dunn, Tom Mc and Garland. Their mids of Pendles, Swan, Treloar, Adams, Sidebottom, De Goey and Crisp would probably shade ours of Jones, Viney, Brayshaw, Tyson, Vince, Oliver and VDB. Their tall forwards of Cloke, Moore and Gault are probably similar to Hogan, Pederson and Watts. Their rucks run deeper with Grundy, Witts and Cox than our Gawn and Spencer. Our smaller forwards are probably similar, with ours perhaps ahead, especially if Petracca is the player we all hope he will be.. Line up the squads and you can see we still need some players to step up or be added, to be ahead of a similar club like the Pies, who are vying for a place in the 8 with us and others. -
Casey, 2 points for the second half. Wow.

I think Terlich will prove to be an uninspired retention.

At one stage of the game, Jetta was playing on Redpath and in another, Boyd. What was that all about?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY
Redleg replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't see him in our best 22. I rate him behind ANB and I don't rate him as in our best 22. -
But we were.

Hasn't impressed me so far. I saw plenty of young Bulldogs better on Sunday. -
Sometime before the game starts.

Saturday Talking Point: The NAB Challenge
Redleg replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I know this is only the NAB challenge and at this time of year, I agree with you. But to be honest, we have been down so long, that during the real season, I couldn't care less if we play the other clubs' worst sides, if it would get us into the finals. No one cares how you get there and we need the momentum. In other words I will gladly accept every break that can come our way, because we seem to have had the reverse over the last nearly 10 years. No one cares that we had injured players etc, when you look back at the season. We need everything going our way. Now if I can just control the bounce of the ball. -
Isn't that a Bee Gees song?
-
Correct, just like we did with Melksham.

Thank God they still don't.
