You are happy with a bloke who drops marks and runs around like a headless chook and then with every single kick or handball, turns the ball over. Well I am not. Lumumba is a liability to us and was all last year and yet Grimes, who granted can do a poor disposal, but is hard and fit, is overlooked.
-
Daniher created the mismatches, by running into the middle and being picked up by a mid and then running back to the goals, with the mid with him. I pointed it out in the first quarter and called the play a few minutes before it happened. Quite a few times he was manned by Bugg or Jetta one out and the bleeding obvious then happened. At those moments Garland and T Mac were on smaller players. I repeat, the Coaching for us was diabolical yesterday.

Didn't reproduce your entire post, but basically agree with it. However, you didn't mention the glaringly obvious, poor structure, that together with the poor effort by the players, cost us the game. I am referring to the two loose Bomber players, one on each wing. They were responsible for the high possession stat and ultimately scoring of goals by the Bombers, as our players didn't know who to man up, with extra players everywhere. My question and I would love to ask the Coaches exactly that, is who was responsible for not ordering a manning up of those players. I don't blame Roos nor Goodwin, I blame the bloody lot of them. I have absolutely no doubt, that we would still have won the game, had we done that by say half time. I would have done it 3 minutes into the first quarter.

Well written George. You can see why I wanted Terkich and Matt Jones delisted for a couple of kids to be drafted with some pace. The turnovers kill you. However we have a winner. Harry Lumumba is the turnover king of the AFL.

I predicted this loss when the fixture came out and had not changed my view. On the way to the game we were discussing what could happen and it did. Then to hear Roos say some players were tired, in round 2, is just the biggest cop out of all time. Show some character and say we coached terribly and the players played the same. I am more angry at yesterday than 186. We have dumb coaches and dumb and lazy footballers.
-
BTW, did anyone else notice that a number of times Bugg or Jetta were one out against Daniher and the obvious happened. Garland or T Mac went forward with the flow of the ball, while Daniher would go into the middle and then be picked up by a mid and would then run back into the forward line, with a mid or Jetta or Bugg on him. You could see it happening. The two loose players on the wing, unmanned the whole day started the rot. I'll say it again, the Coaching box was worse than the players yesterday.

I think they also go loopy after a win.
-
Don't let him off so easily. Unless he was injured and he did go back into the rooms at quarter time, he was pathetic today, in all facets of the game of football. He has immense talent, but today showed no effort.
-
Not having a go at you, I just get frustrated when people on here say we will belt a team and it will be easy and others think every good player just wants to come to us. PS. Loved the way the Suns worked for each other
-
Its not just Roos, its the whole lot of them. Couldn't they see the two loose men on the wings the whole game? What were they bloody looking at? We all saw it in the first few minutes. Even the way the players came out onto the ground looked flat. No enthusiasm at all.
-
I love the way people throw up names, as though we are a great club to come to and that they would all be dying to get to us. I am sure Hurley would have been impressed with us today.
-
Disagree. While the players were pathetic today, as were the umpires, so we're our coaches. they had a loose man on each wing at every centre bounce and then played through them all day. These guys then ran without an opponent and were the link men setting up their thrusts the whole day. Why the hell weren't they manned up? I would love an MFC coach to tell me. That and a poor player effort cost us the game. BTW, I think we have problem with the $10million Man. He does not do any 1%'s at all. His body language is a disgrace. Yes he is talented, but he needs effort as well as talent. Too many on here hero worship him and I think he knows it.
-
Yep.
-
I thought the Coaching was terrible today and I blame the whole box full of them. Both wings had a loose Bomber at every centre bounce and guess what, they were used to set up the play every time. Then, as no one knew who was on them, they had loose men all over the ground. We could have gone man on man at half time, but oh no, these guys are unbending. That and a poor effort from the players cost us this easily winnable game.

Posted yesterday at 10:27 AM · Report post I don't like the cockiness of some supporters and hope the players aren't thinking the same way. This will be the big effort by Essendon this year, first game at the G, in front of the masses, showing their support of their club and their players should give the really big effort. I have seen so many games end in disappointment for us. We need to play at our best in every game, otherwise we will suffer. For me the win is paramount, if that happens, a big one would be great. Oh yeah.

Missed the game last week, so very excited to be there at the G tomorrow to see the boys, hopefully hammer the Bombers.

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 2, 2016
Redleg replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ambrose. -
Another victory.
-
Was it to drink in and stay, or take away and leave?
-
Then why are so many players signing at other clubs?
-
Stop pulling our chain DC.
-
Oh yes Bitter.
-
Third outcome, it continues exactly the same as always, but with a female co-host added.
-
Again I don't hang around with the likes of Demonland posters, except for one dinner every year.
