In my backyard as a 12 year old with a Magpie mate listening on a transistor radio. Couldn't get a ticket and my parents weren't into football.

Here it is for those that can't be bothered searching for it. I am 60 and have supported them all my life. My wife and kids the same. Never seen them win a flag. Copped [censored] from other clubs fans all my life but never strayed. I started the first supporters club magazine, called Demon's World. I started a supporters group called the Premier's Club. I have been a Director of the club. I have been Team Manager of the club. I brought in a new President, Wayne Reid. I am a Foundation member. I am a sponsor. I enjoy Demonland. I have given all my hope and soul to this club. I don't want anything but success for the club. I have watched Boards fight each other. I was even part of one big fight. I nearly cried at the merger meeting when I saw the way people treated the late Tiger Ridley, a true Demon great. I have seen the club tear itself apart. This year I watched as Jim passed away, not long after two other Demon greats in Sean Wight and Stewart Spencer. I watched a sponsor stuff us up. I watched the Jurrah situation. I watched as our Coach was falsely called a racist. I watched the team get smashed week after week. I watched the media go to town on us and they still are. It just seems so unfair. Other teams cheat and win Premierships. We are the only team to win a game that losing would have given us a priority pick and we did it twice. When we did get a pick the kid spent a year lying to us and his dying President before the AFL took him away from us. There is so much more i could go on about. We seem to spend all of our time worrying about our club. It nearly makes you want to cry and give up. However that is just not acceptable as I have my children and grandchildren who I want to one day enjoy success that I have been denied. Stop the fighting amongst each other and all get behind the club. If we lose draft picks I want this club to fight all the way and I mean all the way. We owe it to those who came before and those who will come after. I don't give a rat's arse what we have to do to prevail in this situation, I just want it done. If we have to bring in every other club or destroy Demetriou or hurt the AFL I don't give a sh-t anymore. I have had enough. Yes we may have been naughty but no different to many other clubs yet we alone once again are copping it. Our brand is being trashed and our future hampered and in fact put at real risk. We have 40 or so players who want to win for us and we need to support them. I don't care how dirty we need to be just do it. We are seen as a weak club. NO BLOODY MORE. If we lose draft picks, we should hit the Courts, rally at the AFL and show the rest of the clubs that we are here to stay. Sorry for the rant, I have just had a gutful. I understand the GC and GWS have a free banana policy, where they are paid for by the AFL and not included in their salary caps.

    Anything happening at the moment?

Don't panic, there will be no draft, thanks to the Supreme Court, if we lose picks before we are afforded natural justice and the right to call our witnesses and cross examine the AFL's.

48 years of failure, yet still we support and hope. What will the AFL do to us next?

I sometimes wonder if the peripheral football matters get more media than the actual games.

Mick Malthouse has started already. He is claiming Carlton has a bad draw as they play some good sides early on, however it is rumoured that they will play only 1 final 8 side twice.

Could be a big day today. First training session. We might get to see pictures of all our new boys in their Melbourne gear.

Think we can make a good gain, if we can convince someone like Jacobs to come out and say he wants to play with us and that he will nominate for the PSD with that intention.

By mutual agreement you could change a contract. If he agreed to cancel or vary it to say $100.00 for the year, we could pay him out and he would be free to cross to WC. They wouldn't have to give up prized pick 88 and we wouldn't be up for some of his salary. They say they were keen to get him and they would have done a deal where they get him for nothing. They are talking about him making their starting 22 for the first game.

Bennell played nearly 15 games a year and but for injury more. Petterd had his moments. Jurrah certainly had AFL talent.

And we say goodbye to 5 more players from the senior list.

In today's Sun it says that Morton's relationship with Neeld was beyond repair and that, of course, WC really rated Morton and that he was a real chance for their starting 22 next year. Now I understand that we were getting rid of players and that those players were not going to get us picks that we would use. Therefore we obviously made the decision to do the deal whatever we were offered. However to trade Morton for the lowest trade pick in the whole period and then be forced to pay part of his salary as well is just plain insulting. At the very least, if we aren't capable of doing a deal with WC, then offer Morton a delist and contract termination and he could have gone to WC in ND or PSD for nothing. That is better for us than paying some of his salary. He would have taken the deal as he was desperate to get away from Neeld. Likewise on the Gys deal we caved and upgraded picks for North as well, instead of for us, which might have got us Ray. Harrington said we were very close on Ray. Perhaps a better deal of an unpgrade for us would have got us Ray. I personally don't understand how Gys is not worth a fair bit more than Pedersen. Who is younger and has more upside and future at this point in time? Until someone shows me why my view is wrong, I believe we are poor at negotiating. From what I have seen we have basically given what was asked of us on every single deal and trade including Hogan. GC got their Martin with pick 2 and we gave 3 & 13 with 20 back for Hogan. I am not upset about how it worked out but am just making the point. I also know that Viney was in there but so what, we wanted Viney at 26 and they wanted 3. Even with Dawes we gave 20 and then downgraded picks which again could have cost us Ray or another player. I don't think that we have demonstrated an ability to do deals to our advantage.
