We have turned over 39 players since 2009 as well. If it is meant that 39 players on the list in 2009 are no longer on the list. If it is actual numbers of players added and then gone, the number is much higher. I would guess that we have turned over more than 70% of our list since 2014. 30 players on the list at the start of 2014 are not on the list today.

The reality is that Hogan has two years to go. He has said they will look at it at the end of this year. The club agrees. Hopefully it is done then. No point to worry now. However, if at the end of this year, it is put off until the end of season 17 , I would be very worried. At this time, enjoy season 2016.

I came up with a funny test of how our list has improved. Who on our list should never get a game? I only came up with one name. I obviously didn't include new players to the AFL, like our draftees. I think if I did the same thing 3 years ago, I would have ended up with several names.

How does that happen when we finish 13th?

We have a sensational development Coach, who will now have the time to properly develop players and add them to our production line. we are the new Melbourne Football Club. I await the day when I see headlines that say " star wants to leave his club, to play with the perennial finalist, Melbourne".

Agree and I think that Roos can allow the current situation to continue, while still being the senior Coach. He can do the TV match grabs and press conferences etc and can even continue to sit on the bench and talk to players about things during the game. Whether he addresses the group at breaks, or Goodwin does, will probably not really matter, as Leigh Matthews said, " everything is really done during the week". it is working and there is no need to change, Roos is the Coach and Goodwin is driving the new game plan.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I wonder how his umpiring review of the game will go.

I can't tell from the vision I saw where contact was. I hope you are right and it was the shoulder. It didn't look great from the head on vision, but at least the player got up and continued on.. If not I have something he can use in his defence. Show the film of Merrett's attack on his face witha forearm, as he marked the ball. That left him with a broken nose and a no charge to answer for Merrett. Don't think the Saint went off bleeding profusely from the face.

Posted 5 Nov 2015 (edited) · Report post Jack is the most overly criticised player in the AFL, all because of his draft position. If he was pick 50 no one would comment. There is a bloke running around for the Giants getting $1.2m a year, playing pretty ordinary football and escaping criticism for his pick 1 position and high salary. I think we will see an improved JW now, especially if he is allowed to settle in one position. BTW, I think he is the leading goal assist at the MFC and probably the best kick for goal. And yes there is a spot in our 22 for him. This is one of my pro Jack Watts posts and another said," I think he can be our big improver in 2016." Pretty comfortable at the moment with Jack's start to 2016.

No. As I said he is rusty and will come good. We all know he is a good footballer. However, I think we are allowed to say he dropped 3 marks, if he actually dropped 3 marks, aren't we? We can also say he kicked one off the side of his boot, if he did.
