Not leaving, just having trouble getting last week out of my mind.

Well we have a major disagreement on this point. The majority of our players can't be relied on to execute at any given passage of play. Our turnovers are awful. Guys like Lumumba, Grimes, T Mac, Garland, M. Jones, Tyson, Bugg, etc, mis kick so often, it is mind numbing that they are experienced AFL players. I have said before, that if they were rubbish men, the streets would be strewn with rubbish. Our hand ball is also often butchered. Games today are won by controlling the ball and limiting turnovers, that is our main weakness.

MFC 2016 Membership - Record Broken. Next stop: 40,000
Redleg replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can't blame the supporters. It would be most likely, that if we won last week, we would already have a new membership record. I would imagine PJ would be filthy with the FD ( players, coaches, etc ). -
Interesting take. If in fact Roos is the problem, which I doubt, he will be gone next year. I cant believe knowing that, that players would sabotage their success, because they don't like the Coach. Yes they might like Goodwin better, but he will be Coach next year and they know it. Reality is that we are not a mentally strong side, who can lift when needed, other than an occasional comeback in a game and we have weaknesses in our lineup, in addition to a lack of skill and pace.

Well, maybe banana dacquiries at the Romsey Hotel, if they know how to make them.

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - Round 3, 2016
Redleg replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree. He is not the same player he was a couple of years ago. -
Good on the kid. Looks a future Captain of the Dogs. Wish he was ours.

Pick up my first division Tattslotto win, because IMO, they are the same odds of happening.

With respect Saty, you don't seriously believe that players will tell a supporter they are not happy with the Coach, if they in fact are.
-
As I said in my post. No coach can come in with a crap list and immediately turn it into a superstar team. It takes time to trade and draft correctly and then develop.

Port beat them by 11 goals without five of their best players. It could easily have been a 20 goal loss. Highlights our lack of effort last week. One good quarter of footy would have beaten them last week. We hit the lead in the last, despite being killed all day. A 15 minute effort from that point would have given us a win. I am still angry a week on.

If slightly injured, happy to rest him and have him fresh for Pies next round. Maybe ins could be Garlett, Brayshaw and Petracca.

Why would you drop Oliver?

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - Round 3, 2016
Redleg replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Most teams have several injuries, except North, which seems to be at full strength. Oh well. -
Now there is a fair excuse. Would playing in ugg boots offset that?
-
A disappointing thing is that players are re signing at all other clubs but ours ATM. That is worrying.
-
Not sure last week they even played. Roos has only had them for two seasons not three. They did show flashes in the NAB Cup of a more attacking style. Hopefully we see more of that during the season.
-
ANB has had a delayed pre season and needs game time. Another effort like last week might see him in red and blue. We played Gus underdone and look at what happened. That is why CP5 is playing at Casey, to get match fit before he is launched.

Macca set up Beveridges' list and did the hard early work. Beveridge who is doing well, got the benefit of development and games played by his boys, gaining experience. When he came in they were ready to fire. Beveridge clearly has the players playing for him though.

We don't like that shade of grass.

What has grasping his joystick got to do with flying?

Thought I heard Tim Gossage in Perth, on SEN today, say that the Dockers would throw everything at Jesse to get him to come home and that Lachie Neale could be involved in a deal. He then went on to say, that his info was that Jesse liked it in Melbourne and would not be easy to move back home.
-
It didn't.

He is right a lot of the time. The problem is we don't kick very well. A similar problem to our handballing and also the effort we put into games against teams of similar or lesser ability.

That's not exactly right. On several occasions Garland was in front of Daniher, holding his position, but Daniher simply put his hands up higher and marked over the top of him. It was a poor match up. But not as bad as the Bugg and Jetta match ups on him, which occurred several times. That was pathetic structure.
