  1. The one area that concerns me, is his pace. He is not quick, but has a lethal left foot and is not a dumb footballer. Jesse must love seeing him with footy in hand.
  2. Still makes some mistakes and needs to go with the first option, but has carved out a good career, for someone who was gone a few years ago.
  3. BB I don't bring this up, other than to answer another post about the habit of attacking former players, which I don't like, as I said in my post, with one notable exception. I gave my reasons for that and if you don't accept them, so be it. You were wrong about the first reason you gave for his leaving, our club, it was purely the second, money. His behaviour was totally different to the three players you named, they were up front in expressing that they could leave. Dangerfield did not go for money, as he was offered more to stay. Ablett and Franklin were offered huge amounts, but their clubs knew they were going and in fact prepared for it. Our boy lied to us over and over again. As I said he even lied at Sydney Airport, where he said he was just going up for a look around and that afternoon was front and centre of their recruiting, having signed allegedly at the end of his first season with us, while he had a year to go on his contract with us, yet, with a CD already out, showing him in GWS jumper, which clearly had been done a few weeks or months earlier. I am allowed to dislike the way he treated us. He is the only past player who has gone to another club, that I have booed on the field. That is my right. I agree it was a massive win for us that he left. I find your last sentence extremely disappointing and in poor taste. That aside, hopefully we can catch up again soon, it has been too long.
  4. Yes, I would rather knock the player who lied to a dying President and Club great, when asked in confidence if he was leaving, as was verified in writing, by the said now deceased great's widow. The player then continued to lie to his club and supporters. The player then lied even at Sydney airport, when he said he was just having a look around and then signed the next day with his new club, which immediately had ready advertising material which had been done weeks earlier. No I don't blame him for going for the money, I blame him for his continual lying. Jeremy Howe was forced out of Melbourne, because the club wouldn't agree to the contract he wanted, even after he reduced the amount sought, after his 7 years with us. He was being shopped by us to the Suns and other clubs. He chose the Pies for less money but because they were his team of support and he idolized the Coach as a player. I know who I'd rather knock.
  5. I expect Maric and Deledio back against us this week, along with similar headlines to the Pies, about Dimma being under the pump. However, if we play to our best, who cares?
  6. I don't like the practice of knocking ex players, except in the case of one bloke at GWS.
  7. That is the simple answer.
  8. It doesn't help when you compare him to his predecessor Mike Sheahan, who is widely respected in Journalism and the AFL world. I find Robbo to be a headline grabbing fool. His attempts at logic are just hilarious. In a discussion on SEN last week about Robbo, Neil Balme could barely contain himself, he was basically saying that Robbo would print anything if it would sell papers. Then he realized what he had said and added, that he has done some good work as well.
  9. He also seems very slight. Certainly has talent.
  10. I think it was Barrett, or maybe King, who slammed us in the Kelly for Tyson and Salem deal, saying we had traded away a Brownlow medallist. I know it is only one game, but stats for Kelly in a 15 goal win, were 17 disposals and 1 goal with 5 tackles, while Tyson in a 6 goal win was 24 disposals, 2 goals and 6 tackles and Salem 20 disposals and 5 tackles. Seems we are doing well out of that trade so far. BTW, Kelly doesn't look like a Brownlow medallist to me, on the games I have seen him play, both against us and other teams. As Taylor Swift sings, "Haters gonna Hate".
  11. Yes free kicks can be awarded until the umpire says it is all over. For example, if you are having a shot after the siren and a team mate nearer to goal is dumped, he can get a free kick.
  12. Just the problem you want to have.
  13. Only looking at the current list. Hurley and Prestia wouldn't hurt. We might become a destination club where good players want to play.
  14. Great effort by the boys. This makes it so much better for me: CP5, Weed, Vince, Garlett, VDB, ANB, Billy, Trengove, 2 Kings and even ( Newton, Michie, Grimes and Garland for depth ).
  15. Whatever, it was his best game for us and he did a few nice things. If he can hold a few more and improve his goal kicking, he would be quite an asset.
  16. Which of the teams emergencies are playing?
  17. That's a bit strange. If they bring in a forward/ruck from outside the emergencies, when they have uplifted a giant, who plays forward/ruck and he is an emergency.
  18. WJ is in Japan but he should be able to help with his Casey contacts.
  19. Are you suggesting that Gary should be charged as an accessory to the incident?
  20. We will be in red and blue.
  21. More likely we know we need more key forwards, whether Jesse stays or goes. Dawes appears just about done and Pedersen and Frost are not good enough. The two Kings are probably the next best after Jesse and Weed and they haven't played yet.
  22. They can try, except that May ran past the ball and jumped into the air, hitting Martin flush on the face, with real force, knocking him out. Its only a matter of how many weeks.
  23. Bit tough on Gary. I don't think he deliberately pushed Martin, thinking that May would jump and KO him. Hodge and Mitchell might.
  24. You already know the umpiring. First free, first goal from a free and most frees to Pies.
