i am feeling like Old Dee at the moment, waiting for the game on TV and not really caring less. Expecting to see another thrashing and the beginning of another week or rubbishing or pity from my mates. The usual scenario is that we lose a good player early in the game and players back in the side, or down on form for the opposition, star. Therefore I predict great games for Buddy, Hale and Birchall.

This sums up my sporting life at the moment..........meeting abandoned due to heavy track.

My grand daughters also arrive in about an hour for friday dinner with Nana and Pop. I am off to Sandown tomorrow to see my horse Briefed hopefully win the 7th race. Can't bring myself to go to the footy until there is some change or we play a non top four side.

For those interested, Briefed is running in Race 7 at Sandown Saturday. He likes it wet and more rain is predicted.

For what it is worth I will share this piece of useless info, I have never had a full shot of scotch, cognac, brandy or a full glass of champagne. I have only tried them and disliked them and never repeated the exercise.

Saw the last round of 1997 between us and Freo on Fox Footy the other day and we belted them. We had a crap season and they were going for the finals. Look at the two clubs now, it's so sad.

I have never done this before, but on sunday, after about the first 20 minutes of the game, I fast forwarded to half time, watched a bit of the third quarter and then deleted the game, including the last quarter. It is deplorable that any enjoyment of football has been taken from us.

It can be done though. As I said the banana bread at Starbucks was ordinary and I have had banana smoothies that were warm and tasteless.One must treat the banana with respect.
