  1. I remember CC telling me on draft night, at a club function, before the draft that we wouldn't take Talia, but instead would take Gysberts and then Tapscott. I recall WJ and me being stunned at the news. I actually remember nearly arguing with him, but because he was telling me what Prendergast was doing I was in no position, to argue, given my limited knowledge. If only I was the recruiting manager, I would have done better, only by using the info from Demonland and nothing else. At worst we would have Talia in our defence today and probably another midfielder instead of Gysberts or Tapscott. That is how bad Prendergast was. It also didn't help, that when I met him a couple of times, I found him to be an arrogant, rude, pr1ck.
  2. It was just so much worse with Cook. After no games in 2 years we delist him. Not one club even rookied him. That is how bad his selection was.
  3. Don't get me started on our recruiting, as most on here know my absolute disdain and disgust for the performance of Prendergast. IMO he is the single most damaging appointment, made in this club's recent history and I include MN. IMO Prendergast was a total failure. We can all reel off the names. I just can't see a bigger failure than Cook at 12 in recent draft history. So many other good picks were wasted by him. If he had only selected 3 mids, now playing good football at other clubs, instead of some of his picks, I would not be so harsh. He must have had about 24-30 picks and has only a few players of any worth among them. That said, we know a lot of our players aren't up to it and the only way to get better, is to move them on and replace them. Also to get a good coaching panel and a good player development program.
  4. Maurie you have put in good players and it makes it look very bad, but you have left out poor picks of other clubs too. Our problem is we made mostly bad picks as opposed to others who got a few gems. I forgot to add Jetta to my delistings. As to your list of additional delistings: " Jamar, Evans, Spencer, Blease, Watts, Strauss, Pedersen, Tynan, Dunn and Tapscott", I would trade, Jamar and Tapscott. Blease and Watts would need good deals or I would keep them as in an improved side they could be very good. Both are good finishers and have pace, something we have very little of. Clearly Blease needs to get fit and Watts needs to get more physical at the contest. Spencer is improving and IMO has gone past Jamar, Evans has ability, Strauss is improving, Pedersen is versatile and will be the Sellar replacement if there are a few injuries, Dunn is versatile, Tynan needs another year. We could easily move on up to 15 players.
  5. Is that days left and games for us this season?
  6. Pay him out.
  7. What does that mean?
  8. Well here are my delistings after what I have seen this year. BYRNE, GILLIES, Macdonald, Davey, Davis, Rodan, Bail, Sellar, Nicholson. Couch will go from the rookie list.
  9. I can see today's crowd being very small with the predicted bad weather.
  10. Looks like slot 2 of 4 is about to be filled soon, the president, with Coach and Footy Manager to go.
  11. Got it in one, except a slight variation, while she does follow Liverpool, he is a Man U man.
  12. I will tell her that.
  13. Can't speak for all MFC ladies, but you are correct about her.
  14. Yep. I am away in October for son's wedding in Liverpool England. On return will organize it.
  15. Foundation dinner on tonight. Couldn't make it, but WJ will be there and should keep us informed.
  16. As David King said, why would you sack a club legend with 20 days to go in the season and treat him so appallingly. Obviously the new Coach is signed, but why treat Voss so disgracefully. Unless they didn't want to risk him winning the next three and ending up 11/11. Interesting comment from Eddie, that the AFL is pumping millions into the Lions and need them to turn the finances around and a Roos signing would do that. I wonder if he signs with the Lions if the AFL has acted against us to see that happen. We get some financial help and they try and run the club, the Lions get more and are allowed to continue to run their own show. There are no conflicts of interest or unfair treatment of some clubs in the AFL.
  17. Has Roos recently bought any sun cream?
  18. Any news on Bombers?
  19. I am amazed and amused.
