  1. IMO opinion the coaching is responsible for this to a degree, as well as the other obvious factors such as effort etc. i feel the Coaches are not tinkering with the side to suit conditions but rather going with plan no matter what. Coming off short breaks you bring in fresh bodies. You don't go to tall in the mud. You don't sacrifice young kids to one of the leagues hardest most experienced sides etc. We are clearly sacrificing wins for games being put into youngsters. That of itself is not the right thing. Sometimes being more competitive and even winning can be more beneficial than being smashed and uncompetitive.
  2. We may have another record, lowest score of the year.
  3. Peter Donegan just said Bernie gone for head high tackle on Parker.
  4. I understand playing for the future but IMO you don't ignore the present. You man up McVeigh. You tell the players what wet weather footy requires. Poor selection is also poor coaching. Anyway I thought we had no chance once I heard the weather forecast.
  5. How do you think he would have gone playing as a defensive forward on the unopposed McVeigh. Might have made a small difference.
  6. Turn up the sarcasm meter.
  7. Wasn't that the same stat for Nev in the first half of the Hawks game. Apparently doesn't like it wet.
  8. And that's why you play an experienced player like Grimes. You need the hard dour footy in the wet at the SCG against the Swans. Not saying that he wins you the game, but he would improve the chances marginally. Even play him as defensive forward on McVeigh. Waiting for Roos to say we selected badly for the 3-4th time this season. Obviously unaware of conditions.
  9. Regular occurrence against us. We don't learn from our mistakes.
  10. You don't think a 27 year old, 98 game, ex captain, of 187cms, is an experienced hardened body, when compared to 5 game youngsters, well we shall agree to differ. BTW, if 187cns is small, I wish I was that small.
  11. About time, I have been concentrating on the 1%'s.
  12. I am staggered, given the conditions today, that Grimes wasn't played. A hard experienced body would have been a plus.
  13. Just read it on Adelaide news site. Google article and go to the Adelaide news site. Good read.
  14. We tend not to learn from those experiences. Sorry for the pessimism, but I think in the wet, on their dung heap, the Swans will be too good. Hope to hell I am wrong though. Pity that we hadn't learned when we took on the Bombers, as a win would have us in the 8 now. Also if North hadn't used their own umpires in Tassie, we would have won that as well and been entrenched in the 8 at this point of the season. Oh well if my Auntie had balls.
  15. I meant the club's offer to Tom not his counter offer or demand.
  16. Spoke to him earlier this year and he is now 202cms and he said one of his main targets is to put muscle on over the next couple of years. These blokes who can ruck and play forward and kick goals don't grow on trees. He will be given time. We gave plenty who will go before him.
  17. Who said he wants massive overs? I don't know what he wants, do you or any other supporter? Putting the team ahead of himself might mean taking less to stay than he has been offered to leave.
  18. This kid is a real smokie. Taylor may be laughing in a couple of years.
  19. This is a bloke's career and he and his Manager are entitled to take their time and get the best outcome, without any concern to supporters impatience. I find it funny that supporters think they know what salaries players should get and get affronted when players want to get what they think they are worth in the marketplace. FWIW i think both Macs will be with us for some time yet.
  20. Correct Nasher, my boo boo. On a closer look it is Doggy Brown, not Harmes though they look similar.
  21. That was not my point BB.
  22. Your avatar and JKH, are Hogan's two best mates at MFC.
