If they have the same agent he would have known Tracc’s gripes, so how would Houston have been an absolute lock? Also now the Tracc situation has seemingly settled, so why isn’t he still an absolute lock? It is to do with pick 5 I believe.

I think you will find it wasn’t Tracc, it was us dropping to pick 5, which we deemed far too much for Houston.

I have often said this is the most informative thread on DL and this post is just more proof of that.
  4. Weaker list but better when compared to ours on available players. Out: Brayshaw. Smith. Oliver and injured when played, Petracca, Spargo, Melk most of year, Bowey most of year, Lever multiple games, Salem multiple games, Max few games and others which made us a weaker side, yet we lost 4 games to top 5 sides at the time, by a point or two. Fair coaching effort one could argue. BTW which team with as above many unavailable players, stopped Cats unbeaten run this year?
  5. Fagan is not generally considered a great Coach and yet could be involved in back to back GF’s and but for some poor umpiring could be a Premiership Coach, just saying.
  6. No, it suggests he should have won more. 2 flags, hopefully not 3, in 14 years, given those advantages. He was given a top list btw when he took over, look back at that flag team. I am not saying he isn’t a very good Coach and i would gladly have him, but look at what he has had compared to others.
  7. Ok, so Parker, a great player turns 32 next month. Last night he played the Melky stopping role, having 8 possessions and no scoreboard impact, while his opponent wasn’t fantastic, but still had plenty of ball for a key defender. If Parker came to us next year and wasn’t better than say Melky doing the same role, or couldn’t make our midfield and didn’t make the side, everyone would be blasting our List Management. He has been a great player, but with age has slowed down and while he might have some good footy left, is he who you would be chasing, rather than a younger player who might not be getting opportunities, for a longer term benefit to us. As a hypothetical if you could have say Parker, Kennedy, Parfitt or a Sheldrick type (younger mid not getting a game), for the same cost, who would you choose?
  8. I am not saying Scott isn’t a very good Coach, but rather he has had advantages that other Coaches haven’t. The Cats are nearly guaranteed 8-9 wins every year because of their unique home ground advantage and who they play there and then only need to win another 3-4 games each season to make finals. That is a huge advantage for starters. Their location has assisted their recruiting as well. The endless stream of Victorian tax dollars given to them hasn’t hurt either.
  9. Gee I hope you are wrong and Lions belt them today. With all their advantages, I am as sick of them as much as I detest Carlton.
  10. Without major injuries in both years, especially late in the 2022 season, poor kicking for goal and a thug act, Goody might be a triple Premiership Coach. Who would be the master Coach then, given the benefits provided to the Geelong club by Government funding and its unique location and AFL advantage?

Apparently Sam De Koning filthy on being left out 2nd final in a row.

Wow and we finished top 4 and but for a thug act and some poor kicking for goal, we might have been in another GF. Imagine if we had a good culture then.
  13. Redleg replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep, he should have said we have the worst culture he has ever seen and then anything would have been an improvement.

I have posted a couple of times that while Fullarton is not a ruckman, he could fill a key position role.

Like Fullarton and Schache. Only joking!

From my ignorant of procedures position I see 3 stages, first, permission and agreement of affected parties, second, detailing plans, costing and financing and third construction. I believe we have passed the first stage and have allowed about 9 months for the second. I would think the third stage would take somewhere in the region of 12-24 months. If this timetable is achieved, pre season 2028 would hopefully see it completed.
  19. Are there finals still on? I thought the season had ended.

It will come and be imbibed by the DL masses.
  21. Not that it will happen but Hunter, Laurie, Tom Mac, Melk, Fullarton, Billings, Hore, McAdam maybe and even Woey could all be gone next year and that is way more than $2m. Several of the replacements could be young players at low salaries.

    We are still setting it.

Could the Dees win more flags in a parallel universe?
