  1. I'm sure he has fluffed a few - who in the AFL never has? His high ball/contested marking ability is generally undisputed. He will however need to mark out in front on the lead, run & bounce, handball, spear-pass (as opposed to spear-tackle) all whilst developing a 360 degree awareness. It's gonna be interesting and I'll be tuning in to watch, along with the hordes of similarly intrigued "football" lovers from both codes, so job done from a marketing perspective.
  2. Guess we'll have to wait and see re their ability to adjust TD - I'm personally looking forward to it with much anticipation. I'll agree to disagree about the $ though - it is money very well spent, especially so for the AFL contribution, IMO.
  3. How did you generate the 1.21 gigawatts of electricity for the flux capacitor?
  4. I think it's easy to underestimate the elite athleticism of these guys. (edit)KH has some football playing history and anyone who has seen Falau in action should be able to identify some very transferable skills. Kicking will no doubt be the key skill that will need immediate attention, however many within the AFL believe that this will in fact be easier learnt by these guys, than some existing AFL players who have developed unorthodoxed/ineffective kicking actions. Why would it be any less feasible than bringing Irishmen over from their game? Time will tell of course, however whether they are moved aside for young players in a couple of years will be somewhat irrelevant - the PR for our game achieved along the way, within these NRL heartlands, will have been well worth the investment.
  5. Yeah think we all saw Kelly. Made him look like d#&k.
  6. Frawley was our most influential defender. McDonald & Moloney - Rarely near the ball and need a rest? Two of the BOG for us, 22 & 25 possessions respectively!
  7. 6. Green 5. Gysberts 4. Moloney 3. Davey 2. Frawley 1. McDonald

  9. This topic had slipped off the front page of the forums - we can't have that. Readme
  10. I agree with this. But not this. They have different strengths.
  11. Plus we have Sylvia. We don't need yet another back up ruckman.
  12. LOL. I think the full stop and enter keys are missing from his keyboard. That said, I also agree with the sentiment. Joel adds balance, depth and experience.
  13. Yep. This pretty much encapsulates my viewpoint. This should be a good balance of forming a relationship with the area (for all the right reasons, including financial) whilst developing a home ground advantage over time. I believe the benefits outweigh the negatives being: the potential lack of home advantage and additional recovery challenges; my personal belief is that skullgove would have been strategically rested about now anyway. The overall experience will only add strength to the group. (edit) and the club's future.
  14. What you don't consider Sylvia a good back up??
  15. Like you I really hope they win. I don't expect them to however. From the article: "The Dees are coming off a taxing one-point win in high humidity against Port Adelaide in Darwin and must overcome the effects of travel, weight loss and lingering fatigue before Saturday's game at Skilled Stadium. The Cats, meanwhile, step out at home, fresh after an eight-day break and on top of the ladder." In addition to these facts, it is a daunting prospect for any team in the comp to play the cats at home where they haven't lost since round 21, 2007 (as you would know). On the other hand, Cats are due for a loss
