How well is he going? 34 years young (I think) and still standing up to the punishing rigours of AFL footy. I think he's been fantastic! Great attack on the ball, runs all day and never shirks an issue. Keep going, Junior, watch the youngsters blossom around you.
-
Bit harsh here - I can think of several others. Bruce has never been an in and under, it's not his game. Having said that, clubs need players that can have the ball fed out to them, like Bruce. I think his confidence is down atm - he has a serious role to play at this club. I think he'll get better.

Only watched half of tonight's game..(so boring) but I've been watching Warnock play - all you bleaters out there who were screaming 'We should get him!!!' where are you know? He's an absolute shocker. The ball hit him in the face when he was going for a mark, he falls over, goes for a tap and then.....stops. This guy is a shocker. I'd rather *gulp* big Spence, whose played all of 3 games? Thanks for not coming and costing the Blues a fortune - heavens, they're already trying to pay one prostitute who eye gouges..............

LOL! This team hasn't had the biff since Northey left and they got the stuffing punched out of them in the 2000 GF. There's some sort of post - traumatic stress syndrome that seems to be festering. Similar to my other post, look at how many ferral Hawks players were running around yesterday. Frightening.

Okay - be patient, but will the list stay together?

I don't know the contractual arrangements of every player but I'm concerned that these elusive 'glory days' may never happen. By the time the youngsters are ready, the oldies are nearly finished. Who will make the biggest play for our talented youngsters once contracts are up? Miller and Jamar signed for a year, (Gold Coast bound perhaps) and Miller especially is playing like he can't wait to get out of the joint. By the way, everyone says he's not a forward, so what is he? Casey fodder? I'm concerned about our 3-4 year out players - no presence. No urgency. I was watching Osborne yesterday and he was a ferral pit bull. 5 foot nothing but every time he went for the ball, our players shat themselves. One last anecdote - I was coaching a school footy team one year and we had Scotty Burns down to take the session. After a couple of drills where everyone looked fantastic, he called the group in and asked them 'What makes a great footballer?' and the usual responses, 'good kick' 'no fumbling' 'team things' which he replied, no, no, no - through clenched teeth and rabies in his eyers he said..........'You got to wanna COMPETE' Now, Burns was no great shakes, but if you watched his game, he never, ever backed out of a contest. The coaching staff need to show highlights of Osborne. -
Footynut, great post - wouldn't avail himself for an interview, says he'll go overseas if he doesn't get his way. Hey, Luke, Uzbekistan is lovely this time of the year! [censored].

what makes you think we'll get something 'decent' for him? a player who's played his last 2 years or so of footy in the twos? i'll take ANY pick.
-
I know where you're coming from, but coming back to the Club straight away is not every player's priority. We're talking about an organisation. If you left your current employer (for whatever reason) would you go back? to make coffees? chat to the workers? I know I'm being rhetorical, but we need to look at each case differently. White and Yze are still playing and Neita is probably enjoying a Monday - Friday, 9-5 gig. As for Davey leaving, all this press sees him as mercenary, rather than the bad press falling on the Club. ANY pick in the top 10 would be sensational - free some cash to sign up our up and comers.

The club tried the fat contract with Woewodin and failed miserably. Shane, too, had a massisve influence off the field - every kid had number 22 on their back, including my youngster. (at the time) As it turned out, we all know what happened....Aaron is 27 next year, he can't hold the club to ransom. 3 years is enough for him to make an impact - if he's fair dinkum about staying for culture, togetherness, brotherhood, etc etc.

It'll be embarrassing for the Blues if the captain won't be there to accept his award. The tongues will be wagging and the big sponsors will want some answers. Yep, this is only a rumour but I'm glad it's causing those pricks at V$sy Park some headaches.

I would do this deal today - i have a lot of tome for wellingham, i reckon he'll be okay.
-
Am I supposed to respond as rudely as that? I'll save myself the low brow demeanour and say it slowly for you- R U M O U R I heard from a friend of a friend - now, have we grown up? IF you don't like what you've read, don't respond.
-
100% correct - none of us expected Brocky to walk.
-
Absolute tripe? Maybe. Heard from a reliable source that he won't be attending tonight's B&F. He's sick of Fevola's antics and he's worried that the Blues are heading down the path of the Coasters. He's frustrated that leadership don't deal with the issues, rather they sweep them under the carpet. Judd is a clean livin' guy, whose an enviro warrior, politically savvy and very mature and doesn't always aspire to the footy culture of boozing, sex toy flashing and wearing nappies. Clubs are circling.....

He says that a serious tilt at a premiership will take about 5 years. I would really like to see the club challenge ALL our youngsters to step up and do it sooner. This notion of a 4-6 year plan always sits badly with me - remember Wallace? He said that the Toigs would need 5 years and got nowhere. If you put these ideas in the players' heads, then they think that premierships will happen by osmosis. They are lulled into thinking it's all about 'time'. Come on, Bailey, lift the bar! Challenge them! Let's see the cup held aloft in 2011 or 2012.
-
Really? Go back through the latter half of the year and you'll see him resting forward, although I do concede he played most of his footy in the middle.
-
Don't think so - I know where you're coming from, but I feel we have enough crumbing forwards. Valenti, Maric, Wonna, etc Davey's a touch hot and cold (Similar to his brother actually )
-
Why is everyone so hooked on Everitt? And #18 to boot - he's done nothing, shown nothing and if he was any good, why can't he get a game with his own team? Yeh, #18 for a ressies player - good call.
-
You're a (censored)! Footy is a business, (censored)! Loyalty? Maybe they'll 'Bomb it long' one day too! Get your head out the sand, you (censored) clown.
-
Am I the only one who couldn't care less about (potentially) Davey leaving? Pick #11 for McLean is an absolute winner! Offer Davey to Coasters or Shockers for pick #4 or #5. Come on, think about having so many picks in the last legitimate draft for a while. Bring it on, I say!
-
Heard from a friend of a friend that young Zomer is gone. I only saw the guy play one game and he looked a bit overawed. I wish him all the best. PS Heard from a friend of a friend that Scully will DEFINITELY be our No #1. Well, duh, you say, but I'd thought I'd confirm.
-
Fantastic team! I couldn't fault this line - up. Except Meesen on the bench. No room for Cheney? Bennell? Oh, help, I need to lie down.
-
Did anyone else hear Ox on the broadcast today? 'Dennis, would you give up Pick 2 for Sandilands?' Dennis - 'Yep.' Would the club? I wouldn't. The guy's a monster but doesn't do enough around the grounds. Pick a youngster.

he could join 4 to 6 at balwyn.
