  1. Honestly, I read somewhere on this very forum, that some of you were contemplating the possibility of seconding this bloke to the team..... He makes Mick 'The Galloping Gasometer' Nolan look like Chris Judd. For all you youngsters out there, google the name, if you're interested. He is the biggest gump playing AFL footy - talk about no awareness, turning circle of my old HG and just a dumb player. It was painful watching him. The fact is, St.Kilda's bottom six are woeful and he's in that bracket. What say you?
  2. can't bat, can't bowl either!
  3. If you want someone whose stats read 7 tapouts, no kicks, no handballs, no tackles, no assists, no blocks, no hard ball gets, no loose ball gets, no marks, no idea, then yes, what a great pick up.... Excuse me, I promised never to move into sarcasm city but Mark Blake is the worst AFL footballer going around.
  4. 'Cultural cancer' - that's the best description I've heard about him. Having said that, Redleg might have a point? Surely, surely, everyone grows up at some stage? Surely? Big body in the square will allow Jurrah, Watts, Pettard, Wonna, Green etc to run amok. Surely that front lobal part of the brain is coming together?
  5. The point of this discussion is to have an opinion. Oh well, Bailey has a different opinion to me. That's okay. Further, that show's content is for a laugh and to release happy endorphins. Bailey's hardly going to divulge FD thinking or strategies.
  6. None of the kids should have played the last couple of games.
  7. I've always felt that faceless posting could lend itself to rudeness, sarcasm and the absolute lack of respect for the posters and contributors. It should be about debate, discussion and the airing of an opinion without personal attacks....but, I digress. Wouldn't Kosi also command a fat contract, considering he's already signed with the Saints? Secondly, if the rumour is true, when did he last play a good game? Like our Belly, I don't think he's been right since that clash with Giansiracusa.
  8. Neale Daniher will give them a real roller-coaster ride and get them damn close, but at the end of the day he wasn't a visionary and chose to use the same players year in, year out, without developing the youngsters.
  9. Fair enough - I completely concur that's it's getting damn more expensive, but no more expensive than when we had the worst team in the AFL on the park. But, now you're seeing it, you're feeling it and the best time for us is on the horizon - not one or two weeks. Anyway, my membership will cost me more next year and the year after that, because there's no way I'm missing out on a GF ticket!
  10. The difference is, everybody knows the direction of the club - the semi transparency of the journey. Members like you and me wouldn't stop supporting the club if they rested the youngsters and brought in big bodies. Your analogy is flawed.
  11. And you probably never will.
  12. I'm not your mate and I choose not to like it. Today was a waste of time for the future of our team when there were two strong bodies kicking 10 between them in the 2nds. I'm not talking about dropping these blokes, I'm talking about list management and the season doesn't have to run for 22 weeks for some players.
  13. What a waste of time today was - Watts got pummelled, Trengove looked stuffed, Bennell was unsighted and even Frawley looked buggered. Experience? What a joke.
  14. Cameron Bruce - signed, sealed, delivered. Wanna bet? Bet a buck....
  15. In the BIGGER PICTURE scheme of things, 2 weeks is neither here nor there.
  16. I've supported Melbourne for 33 years
  17. Maybe - but you can see the players have already bonded and connected. What better way to continue this 'connectedness' than to give them all the last 2 weeks off and they gather together early to pull some weights?
  18. Fair enough - but I still see merit in my idea. We've seen enough to know we have something special. Why take the risk?
  19. I hear what you're saying, but goals change as unexpected results occur. We can all see we have some amazing players on the list, ready to match in with the big guns and ready to blossom. Why risk some horrible injury when as part of list management (rather than chat about delistings) we ice our assets? Bring in big, big bodies against Port and allow the others to have an early break and hit the protein bars and weights early. It's been a good discussion.
  20. Doesn't mean anything. They will still have the same rest, they just come back earlier. Rest them now before the niggles manifest into long term injuries. E25, I don't know how old you are, or for how long you've followed this Club, but this is the most exciting list I've ever seen in my time. Ice them, let them rest, we're in for a fantastic five or six years.
  21. Mad Monday is outdated and a societal menace. Can't debate without sarcasm or emoticons? Typical.
  22. According to you. I see merit in my post. These boys know they can win. They've had a taste. They're getting ready. Two weeks off now will be real list management, as opposed to that other thread that's a hen peckin' party
  23. There is no hope for finals' action this year, so let's ice the assets: to finish early - Scully Trengove McKenzie Jurrah (injured anyway?) Frawley (injured?) Bennell (tired) Watts (looks pummelled) Bail Bring in the big bodies for the next two weeks and let's all upgrade our membership fo 2011 to make sure we secure a GF ticket.
  24. I think there's more involved here than just the coin.....
  25. I brought this topic up and there's been some excellent debate. In some ways I've underestimated the passion these boys now have for this club - reminds me of the Northey years when it was 'us' against 'them' Can't wait for this week!!
