  1. when he did his hammy against the dogs, that scared the sh-- out of him. the explosive pace is over. he doesn't chase with the same intensity, will not pick up an opponent and the blinding movement is over. his best position was at the feet of neita and since he's gone, he's struggling to re-invent himself. top 10? i doubt a club would. top 20? maybe the hawks would give up their pick.
  2. just speculation - op left untreated can linger for years. the monstrous demands on young kids to get drafted means that they don't develop properly. one carnival after another means that when the signs first became obvious, jared was never really given the chance to fully recover. hence he played injured and is still injured. i hope he gets better soon - it's a terrible thing to have.
  3. nice work joeboy - there are a couple of things i'd add: bell and rivers back to sa. maybe we can package them up for a late draft pick? rivers will never play again and bell has been psychologically scarred by the johnson hit. anyways, we mustn't forget, pick 1, pick 17, pick 19.
  4. This is where pick #1 will be a cinch - Nick Natanui (spelling correct?) Warnock, Natanui in the ruck, with PJ a resting forward. You know, I've never looked forward to the draft - but this year's will be a beauty.
  5. Ok no problem. PS I'm technically inept so I have no idea how to bump it to the top if it comes to fruition.
  6. Another inept poster who completely misses the point - kudos to all those who had a real laugh at the post and took it with a grain of salt, something that poor old Before2Long can't comprehend. instead of maligning the name of a Paul Kelly classic as your username, why not use one from the Wiggles that best describes your standing, 'Wake Up Jeff!' IT'S ONLY A RUMOUR!!!!!!!!!
  7. please read my post and HEADING clearly - it's some rumour that was on 3AW on Tuesday morning. I was only reporting it, not BELIEVING it. I think we all need to have a cup of tea and a lie down.....
  8. It was reported on the rumour file this morning on 693 that the Melbourne Football Club is trying to woo an Indian prince who is apparently willing to pledge a cool $20 million towards the club. Nice coin if we can get it. However, it's just a rumour at this stage.
  9. The last couple of posts that spoke about this 'what we need' was so silly it was funny!!! (especially the names being bandied about.) NO CLUB WANTS TO HELP ANOTHER CLUB WIN A PREMIERSHIP. The trades that have taken place lately have had no significance to that club whatsoever. I'm sure someone will correct me for this, but seriously, think about it. As Rhino says, trades are all about the NQR's being moved on. Medhurst, you say? Crap! If Collingwood are up, he's up, not a matchwinner. TJ you say? Crap, I say - even his own coach hates him and Power and Black have no time for him. We need to rely on solid list management, pick the BEST player in the draft and build a team - we're all steeling ourselves for the cull that will eventuate and we look forward to Picks #1 and #17. Have a good week.
  10. Hey! I was thinking we could bundle up Ellis, Funcke, Moorcroft, Read, Pickett and now HANSEN!!! Please posters, let's not get nasty with each other, we want to progress, not regress. Please look to the future. We don't want any more damaged goods....
  11. Yep - great idea. At the moment, our reserved seat family membership is deducted monthly. I would be willing to pledge an extra 20 clams a month over the next 2 - 3 years to help eradicate this debt. BTW, there's no such thing a s a rusty kinga, just 'weathered' PS I've restored a HT Prem - have you got one yourself?
  12. once again, flawed logic rears its ugly head. to GET value you've got to TRADE value. the current crop of names that have been bandied about are UNTRADEABLE. here's an idea from left field. jared rivers. body is showing signs of not standing up to the rigours of league footy, is physically underdeveloped, (davey has surpassed him), looks tiny against the power forwards, he's played half a dozen games in two years and yet attracts a fat contract. think outside the sentiment - let's get this team right. btw, colin sylvia should be the first to go. someone else will be stooged by his blond hair and massive build, but can't play footy to save himself.
  13. thanks Dalrot - i heard so many different things. i appreciate the info
  14. Could someone please respond to my request? Can I have the dummies guide to the draft? Assuming we win less than five games (don't get all teary or fired up, let's be pragmatic), and Tiges and Blues WIN more than five games, does that mean we get picks 1 and 2? Please explain.....
  15. are you talking from a booming kick point of view? if wheatley returns he must now be anointed the go to kick in guy. bell's decision making lacks poise and I only breathe a sigh of relief when he kicks to the dead pocket. When he aims for someone in the corridor, it's sphincter tightening stuff......
  16. I think Cale Morton needs a week off - he's played all the games this year and he's been crunched a couple of times. His body can't sustain that much punishment. Bring in Sylvia.
  17. Bit harsh joeboy - I was excited today about the onfield direction, with all the 'new' names sticking it up to the Hawks and there are plans afoot for home base negotiations and new sponsors on the horizon. The comments were not 'baseless', merely borne of passion.
  18. Couldn't agree more - well said. The FUTURE looks fantastic!!
  19. I want the boys to play accountable footy, break the lines, deliver with poise and confidence and not be overawed by a very good team. What are your expectations? PS I still think Franklin is a [censored]!!
  20. The general discussion is that Buckley will improve, I'm not that convinced. Will he survive the cull that's expected at the end of the year? Hasn't got a defensive bone is his body. You're right, '59, only time will tell.
  21. Not sure - looks to move okay but poor decision making and poor skill execution seems to cost him and the team. He's missing that inate ability to know whether there's an opponent nearby and seems to get caught out quite often. I know it's up to other teammates to talk around him but he looks slow to me. I don't think he's made the next step. Jury's out...thoughts?
  22. Re: my earlier posts....Franklin is a [censored] and Judd is a prostitute of the highest order.
  23. Exactly! It was a good learning experience for him and he should view tapes of Power, Black, Judd, Harvey (North) to learn how these players break tags every week...
