  1. Nah i didnt miss anything, i was just showing how easily words can be twisted to suit any argument.... hence the tongue-poke at the end.
  2. Virtue signalling Redneck means precisely nothing - it's just an empty insult rednecks virtue signallers throw at conservatives. It assumes the insulter knows the mind-set of the insulted. How can they? :p
  3. I havent invested much energy at all on researching the draft this year. Far too many times in the past have i got super excited about our draft pick based on what has been said about them in the run-up to the draft, only to be super disappointed a year or so later when they didnt match the hype.... or even come close. What has interested me reading the Draft threads this year has been the evolution of how people are talking about it. Plenty said early on that 1 and 2 were were almost certain to be fantastic players, but then the draft fell off a cliff. Now there are almost as many posters happy for us to trade DOWN the draft order, as we "can still get what we want" (Paraphrasing) I will stick with Young and Kemp at 3 & 8, but i have no idea about their likely quality so i cant even explain why. I do like the idea of Youngs kicking quality, but a certain J.Strauss once had me just as excited. Laser boot someone called him at the time. That went well. I will be feeling all warm and fuzzy draft night no matter who we pick, but absolutely nobody can be sure how well we drafted, and we wont know for a year or 3 regardless of who gets picked on the night. Im happy for North to "win the draft" again, as long as our players turn out better in the long run.
  4. I have been extremely critical of Tracs under performance so far in his career, but credit where it is due. Although he still faded out badly after half time in many games, he lit up a few games early as well. I was impressed how hard he seemed to be attacking the ball in the second half of the year. Once he has finally sorted his fitness, he may well live up to his (own) hype.
  5. Agree Kevs reports are detailed and interesting. We can also have an opinion on players without him jumping down our throat. He is what the site has been crying out for, for a long time. Long may he post.
  6. Seems fairly obvious now we aren't taking that dude from Collingwood that he should play off HBF. He has not shown as much forward as he did when back (even though he has only had one good season). Breaks line like few players in the league when he is in form. Back it is.
  7. Not only does he break the latest trade news, he also has a contract crystal ball. ALL HAIL THE GREAT MAN !!!
  8. Geez........... who can imagine Robbie on a wing in our 2020 team ?. I remember so vividly watching Flower carving up a wing the "G" when i was a teenager. I loved how the crowd reacted whenever he got the ball..... "Robbieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee". This is what we miss most nowadays... a player who makes the crowd go nuts when he has the ball. We were not a great side then, and havent been for a long time, but thinking of that still gives me chills. Im going to be off my face and full of tears if we win a flag before i die. GO DEES!!!!!!

This is where the AFL should institute a rule that says the average per year is what cold be matched. It its 5 years for 600k AVERAGE per year, that is what clubs should be allowed to match, not the heavily front ended number. If another club will pay 600 per year for 5 years............ Rule worth considering imo. He would have been nice, but we dont need him.
  10. Another Homeopathy believer. Evidence son.... evidence.
  11. You believe in Homeopathy dont you. Sorry thread. I will give it a rest. I want Kemp at 8. Long term i believe he is worth the risk.
  12. I said i would only hear crickets. #proofitworks
  13. Im not the one making the claim about its supposed effectiveness... Burden of proof isnt on me. *snap
  14. Yep. Ofc if you asked me when i was 17 and wet behind the ears the answer would probably be different. If anyone can show me some proof it assists in identifying a better footballer im all ears. Facts, not feelings. I reckon i will only hear crickets.
  15. It "reveals" i have a very low tolerance for psychobabble. That some think it is a good idea says how easily conned they are. But, you know, knock yourself out. Interesting article with a great quote from Adam Cerra " “I got asked whether the fact I want to buy a house in a few years meant I was financially driven to play football,” Cerra said. “I think they were just trying to make a hard question out of nothing." https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/the-weirdest-questions-asked-by-afl-club-recruiters-during-interviews-with-draftees/news-story/694c80bce012b019f895d6c997609700

Come on guys, these puns are just Plane Fowl.
  17. All good bud, we just believe different things. Nothing personal.
  18. So you agree the question and answers are irrelevant. You got there in the end.
  19. Haha yeah because questions like these are totally unexpected these days. These kids go in well prepared for random questions so the original aim of this "surprise" questioning has been badly eroded. Dusty probably wouldnt have ever been drafted if this approach was a deciding factor in a player being drafted or not. There comes a time when organisations just get a bit too clever for their own good. This is one of those times.
  20. Yeah, so the better footballer gets rejected because he picked the Jelly. Instead, they should have picked him because of his superior footy ability. Time wasting rubbish.
  21. From the story....... Kemp might’ve sat out on the draft combine due to his knee injury, but it didn’t stop Sydney asking the utility a puzzling question during the interview process. “(There was) a fake spider, big blue ball where you squeeze it, jelly, a puzzle and one of those slap bracelets,” he said. This sort of garbage would have me walking out of an interview. Psychobabble has invaded far too many areas of the AFL, and if it helped you identify a future champion i would be absolutely flabbergasted. Only people who rate Mission Statements would believe a question like this could help identify a future champ. A 17-18 year old male has tons of mental development left, and his answer would change practically every year. Word wankery at its best. Cue the triggered Psychologists..........................
