  1. I expect the pups to come out yapping and snapping at our heels, but I can’t see their hyper-activity lasting for an extended period. We look to have their measure in most areas, and on form this year, they seem to have few players who are likely to inflict a heap of pain (even if they do get off the leash, which is doubtful because imo we are too disciplined to allow that to happen). Dee’s by around 7 goals I reckon, and the puppies again licking their wounds in the dog-house. ps. In the unlikely event that we do come out ‘flat’ after the Alice and the short break, I’m very confident that our boys will do whatever it takes to find another gear for the Jonesy. That’s what good teams do, and we are a good team now!
  2. The win and the tie before it (but I was too young to remember any of it). Been rusted on ever since.
  3. No you won't Andy, I promise! Once you've savoured the first, the appetite continues to grow. I've been lucky enough to see 7 of our 12, and I can't wait to celebrate number 13 (which for the first time I'll be permitted to celebrate with something a bit stronger than lemonade!).
  4. David Rodan James Sellar Viv Michie Aiden(?) Riley
  5. Thanks Drunkn. This is an exceptional interview with an outstanding young man and leader of our football club. I'm almost in tears, and in awe of what might be possible with Jonesy at the helm. Brilliant stuff!
  6. Lots of good points above. Another important factor is that most times that the ball enters our F50 (whether it be a pass or a speculative bomb) we either mark it or create a contest at ground level. This is why we are now getting score board 'value' for our high number of entries.
  7. No matter who we have played, or how much weight you place on statistics, there can be no denying that those numbers are bloody impressive!
  8. I like it that our Club has already seen enough to back-in the draft calls they made only 6 months ago, and that the boys are clearly happy at Melbourne. Importantly in Petty's case, the 'go home' factor was not a barrier to his re-signing.
  9. .................. but can it cope with a Flag??
  10. So in a nutshell, the crows in S.A. have ceased crowing.
  11. I honestly can't think of another player (in the last 60 years) who can be legitimately compared to Clarry. His skill-set is unique!
  12. I reckon former Demon Luke Beveridge might have a few sleepless nights trying to plan match-ups for next Saturday. Where the Hell would he start?
  13. 6. Brayshaw 5. Hogan 4. Hibberd 3. Jones 2. Viney 1. Gawn ............ and all of Lever, Oliver, Nibbler, Melksham and Vince could be added to that list, and not a single Demonlander would quibble!
  14. We are MELBOURNE! We are the REAL DEAL!
  15. I'll happily settle on a win of any proportions, but I have a very pleasant game-day feeling that we will have won 18 quarters on the trot by the end of the round. That's not 100% unreasonable, is it?
  16. I'm currently in a remote area of NSW, and 20 kms from the nearest internet coverage. Yesterday I drove the 40 kms (round trip) to enjoy the post-match frenzy on Demonland, only to get caught up in the damn Telstra outages. Another 40 kms this morning, and I finally get to 'feel' the excitement of fellow Demonlanders. The iPad is now down from 100% to 15% .......... that's how much I enjoyed it. Well done guys and gals! Go Dees!
  17. 6. Melksham 5. Lever 4. TMac 3. Gawn 2. Jones 1. Brayshaw
  18. As an interstate member, Demonland is my football 'lifeblood'. Thanks Andy and crew for your great work. More than happy to donate.
  19. Well Clarrie is an emerging super star. I've had too much red to even contemplate Cripps, so Clarrie wins hands down from my pov.
  20. ................... well your call on Fritta was spot-on, so I'm more than happy to climb aboard the Bull train. ps. I love it when players are rewarded when their Casey form becomes irresistible.
  21. Not sure how you can draw that conclusion di4e. Harmes and ANB are solid foot-soldiers ....... Gaff is a match-winner, and would take our midfield work and forward entries to a brand new level.
  22. Agree completely Wise. This summary: Key defensive pillars continue to build by Troy Chaplin says exactly what you are saying, but in a few more words.
