No, but their supporters might! 😀

Well done Goody ……. I love this ploy! We will be ‘on’ from the first bounce, C’wood will respond but wilt like violets. Go Dees!

Great get Andy, and an outstanding interview. I'm really buoyed by Troy's responses!

Sounds like Binman is on the money!

Thanks Troy!

Fairly obvious question from me: When Petty returns from injury, is his primary role for the remainder of this year likely to be as a defender or a forward?

Another fabulous show guys. Huge thanks for the time and effort that you put in each week.

After his first few games, I saw a strong likeness to Schwarta in the way Roo plays, and I still see it! Long may it continue, sans knee recos of course! Future star of the comp.

Many Demonlanders have recognised the value of having Tommo in the team against Carlton, because it improved our defensive structure, and enabled our other defenders to play to their strengths. The outcome was clear to all! There has been less Demonland commentary about Joel Smith’s game against the Blues. I thought his importance to our forward structure, was equal to that of Tommo’s down back. IMO, the role he played contributed significantly to the improved form of JVR and Fritta, and l see Joel as a ‘lock’ for KB. What do the panel think?

Grundy has been solid / good all year, but he will lift against C’wood.
-
Judd might push him.

Tommo was well beaten by McKay, but he played a critical part in the return to form of our defensive unit. I expect him to play against C’wood.

It was an absolute grind, but imo, there were some positive signs. In particular: * The defence stood up, in part (imo) because Tommo freed up Rick Lever to do his thing. May, Salo and McVie probably played their best games for the year * Sparrow and Riv had good games again, confirming that they belong at this level. * Lingers and Hunter looked like they might be getting back towards their best * Forward half pressure was a lot better than it has been recently * JVR had his best game * Max had a good second half Still loads to work on, but imo, it was better than just a 17 point, grinding win.

it was a grind, but there were some positive signs. My votes: 6. Petracca 5. May 4. Lever 3. McVee 2. Salem 1. Sparrow These also warrant a mention: Hunter, Frisch, JVR, Gawn

God I hope we win .............. that's all, so surely not too much to ask.

The last 25 games are irrelevant now. I’s the next 15 that count!

Thanks guys. Another great show, and great to have George back!

Doug asks a good question about our (currently) dysfunctional forward line. My question relates to the same part of the ground. What on earth has happened to the manic forward half pressure which was a hallmark of our game in 2021 and for a good part of 2022? Back then, opposition players were looking over their shoulders in fear of being run down by Kossie, Spargs or ANB, but not anymore! I hate to say it about our beloved Dees, but viewing from my lounge room in the Snowy Mountains, it looks like a work rate issue. I’d love to hear the Panel’s views. Love the Pod. Keep up the great work guys!

Solid, four quarter contributors, but with flaws to work on: 6. Petracca 5. Sparrow The rest are my best of an ordinary lot: 4. Grundy 3. Brayshaw 2. Bowey 1. May

If you can't perform the fundamentals to a decent standard, then you are stuffed in this game. We were totally stuffed today! Some personnel changes are necessary, but where are they coming from? Sure, we had a few key players out, but the best teams deal with that! As things stand, we are not one of the better teams. I'm frustrated, enormously disappointed and looking forward to the next few weeks with a great deal of trepidation.

First thing I did after the siren was to go to the Casey thread. Sadly, no joy there either!

I’m looking forward to this with nervous anticipation. Really keen to see how the new midfield mix looks and works in Clarrie’s absence, and who of our ‘lesser lights’ can stand up when needed. I’d love to see see Spaz announce himself with a four quarter ‘breakout’ game. He has what it takes, he just needs to deliver. If not Spaz, then Riv as a genuine mid. Dees to have their noses in front in a tight one.

Great show as always guys. Huge thanks again, for the time and effort that you put into it.
