  1. I think Bailey Humphries better suits our list demographic. He will be 22 in September, whereas Butters 26. Butters would be ideal if we were peaking, but we are a few years off that. Humpries will peak when our list does.
  2. I think there is a role for the hard tagger. However, agree with the high half forward role. Kolt is going to have to find something that we haven't seen from him if he is to succeed at the top level.
  3. He isn't hurting our development. There is no one else to take the role, and Gawn is the best ruck in the league. Given his height, and his resilience, he could easily dominate for another few years, by which time, Heath will be seasoned, and Kalani more experienced.
  4. If he could make it as a designated tagger that would be a win. There is a role for a tagger. I don't see him offering much outside of that role.
  5. With the rise of night meetings, and the growth towards Pakenham and Cranbourne, those tracks could potentially shoulder some of the demand. Those Cranbourne facilities are second to none, I doubt you'd see many complaints from trainers. Its more the clubs trying to generate $$$$, as they have to - to survive. I think Guerra knows this, as he has demanded a tunnel at Caulfield. If I didn't know better, I'd say Guerra could have government assurances in respect to our side of the deal, as the whole deal around us going to Caulfield, I suspect would need to be subsidised, to an extent. However, that is just my uneducated - and speculative - take on Caulfield.
  6. Waverely and Casey isn't so bad in the interim. It aligns us further to Gippsland. The transition for Gippsland Power players is Casey. Back in the day Gippsland was in Hawthorns catchment zone, and Waverely was their home ground. Ideally we would like to be in the city, however, an added bonus of Waverely/Casey, might be that we find a few players down Gippsland way. I think Caulfield will happen. These race clubs cannot survive in isolation. They bleed money, we see that happening with Rosehill, who nearly needed to sell, and probably should've.
  7. Now he has his uncle at the club he should only be more settled. Notwithstanding, the club is in a better place in 2026.
  8. BH is based upon what he could do. That is why GC have held him. No point trading a player who is showing signs of being the next Dangerfield. If he breaks out this year, he will win their B&F, and then what would be the asking price? 4 first round picks? He is still under contract. If BH does desire to come back home, given he is in contract, it would be an open market.
  9. Viney, Brayshaw, and Olivers contract, just terrible mismanagement. Viney swindled the club, Oliver didn't warrant the dollars (behavioural issues were well known), and Brayshaw we signed to a huge deal after concussion issues were already concerning. We will still feel the effects of those deals, however, Petracca upholding his part of the deal, has allowed us to cover for the other bad contracts. Great clubs don't make the mistakes we've made.
  10. I think it was a win/win for both clubs. GC are ready for a tilt at top 6 and beyond, as evidenced by them making the finals last year. There is no doubt they are on the up. Their list is ready. However, one thing they did lack, was an experienced finals campaigner, who can turn a game on its head. That is Petracca. They may have overpaid slightly for him, but that is what clubs have to do to get quality in. If they make top 4 and give themselves a double chance, then its worth it. Even if they can host a couple finals up there it would go a long way for them.
  11. Culley is not a surprise. He is elite.
  12. Broken out in 2025
  13. I'd like to be proven wrong, but I don't think hes up to it skill wise. I would be surprised if he is still on the list in 2027.
  14. Culley is beast. He has that presence about him - in that he is supremely confident in his abilities. He will get his chance in the midfield, and it helps that he has size and presence about him. With Viney out, we'll need that. To have Culley, and Lanford in the middle, it changes our dynamic greatly from last year, both can tackle, are strong, and are dangerous overhead.
  15. I think its always good to get the Gippsland Power lads. A lot of the power youngstars end up at Casey if they don't get drafted. When you are from Gippsland, you are used of the long travel growing up, so the Casey issue is negligent to a lot of the kids drafted out of Gippland, or any already in the AFL system. The more Power kids we draft the better, so long as its warranted.
  16. Looks as though he could have some traits to be a good key position player.
  17. I am the draft guru. I'd probably give the next best to Shifter.
  18. Some of them hate the heat. I wouldn't lock Brisbane in.
  19. Geelong need Oliver. They don't have his type. The fact they taken a spud like Worpel over Oliver, is telling. Obviously there must be a little more than we know about Clayton.
  20. Good pick up. Even if we get two solid years out of him. Adds some protection around the ball for the younger brigade. Having Steele and Viney in the middle could work. Viney and Oliver didn't work.
  21. Clayton is the best player we've had since Flower. It would take an insane offer to prize him out of MFC. Its a cop out to push him out, and also a cop out to ask him to change his game. How about we work with Oliver, and find out what has changed since he was at his best. My guess, on a quick view of the recent clip in the van, where he gave Dees a whack, and stuttered in doing so, is that Clayton is dealing with a mould exposure issue. Instead of just telling the best since Flower to change his game, actually dig a little deeper and finding out why he lost his form in the first place. We gave Goodwin far more time to improve - than we are giving Oliver.
  22. I have the best track record and haven't heard anything.
  23. Its a raffle. I thought Reece Walsh wouldve been sin binned for sure, but wasn't. It is a tough watch. There is a lot of high level athletes wasting their time copping unnecessary head knocks
  24. I don't know how we land Humphrey. However, GC would really want Petracca. He is a household name, and would be their biggest name since Ablett jr. Could it sway them? I am not sure. But they probably want, and need Petracca, as much as we do Humphrey.
  25. I actually think its perfect. If we can get something for Petracca and Oliver, move them on, and let them enjoy their football, they have great years ahead of them, and we should get some good value. Guerra seems to be rocking the boat, and has an appetite for change, which is fantastic. King is assertive, no-nonsense, and clear minded. No doubt he will set high standards, and not waiver - on and off field.
