  1. Its actually really admirable by to admit this. He is clearly a level headed, humble person and that is a fantastic trait. It really is a pity that those around him could not challenge him to overcome some of these things. People like Richo, Pert, Choco et al are all partially accountable for this as it doesn't solely rest on Goody's shoulders - Richo more than anyone else as id see it as his role to define strategy, purpose, gameplan etc, while Goody was more about putting that into practise onfield. Nevertheless, whats done is done and at least it doesnt appear that Goody is overly salty about the move. And hopefully in time, will come back into the club to celebrate our next major achievement or reflect on those in the past.
  2. Yeah i think we are 1-2 years away at targeting a 25/26 y.o Free Agent in the mould of Melksham / Hibbo. We need to hit rock bottom and be seen on the up before a worthy FA would look to come to us. Right now, its hard to say which we are going. Id be putting in a lot of work on Butters right now. Lets hope that Hawks land Merrett this year so they are out of the picture. If we trade Trac and get him off our books, I'd put a massive contract in front of him right now and get him thinking long and hard end of next year when he comes out of contract. Wed also need Port to have a crappy year as well for this to work. Wed be up against the Pies and Blues competing for his signature though so it will be a hard get but not impossible.
  3. Strange decision until it isnt. People more than me have made this appointment but it will be questioned in the media spotlight no doubt. Assuming King had a say too?
  4. And if he wants to tear up and renegotiate his salary with new club to meet our requirements then we would support that too.
  5. Firstly, good if true. I wanted to comment more on Twomey. He needs to be careful with his presence because he is starting to become very McClure like. Earlier in the week it was Adelaide and nothing else. I get he probably has pressure from the executives to generate clicks and headlines, but not at the cost of his credibility. Im starting to take everything he says with a grain of salt now.
  6. Trac hasnโ€™t been the difference this year in any of the games we have won. He played his role well most of the time but never ripped a game apart and willed us across the line as he has done in the past. Maybe he builds up to it next year or maybe he doesnโ€™t , BUT he will not be the difference between us finishing 14th and last. Thatโ€™s just absurd.
  7. How have you not figured This is why having Adelaide involved makes sense. GC gets points from picks to be used for NGA bids Adelaide gets Trac and gives picks MFC get Flanders and picks and loses Trac. Itโ€™s arguably a win -win- win. Everyone gets what they want.
  8. I think expecting pick 6 to come back is a bit much from a GCS perspective. Probably a 2nd rounder is more fitting or if we give them pick 23.
  9. Pies fans will blame the umpires. The irony. Well done Maxy.
  10. What a stupid GOTY and MOTY
  11. YIKES using the BNF this year as your evidence isnโ€™t inspiring confidence. Letโ€™s see if he can get double digits in the Brownlow tonight.
  12. Itโ€™s on ๐Ÿ˜‚
  13. You cannot equate Danger to Trac Iโ€™m afraid. He doesnโ€™t quite have the same brutality or athleticism as Danger IMO.
  14. Lets assume he can get close to his peak performance. We seem to gloss over the fact that his disposal is terrible. So if we have commited to the transition game, what role does superTrac play in this? I look at Trac and would put him both in the same class of midfielder along with Danger, Newcombe, Cripps, Rowell and Dusty - beast / brute force midfielders who are attacking in nature. Measured in clearances, score involvements and goals. Trac probably ranks reasonably high on the offensive side, but rock bottom in kicking and defensive acts. His offensive attributes were so high, that you'd overlook the other elements, but with the modern game now moving away from stoppages and played in transition, can we really expect him to suddenly improve his kicking and become more balanced? Im not so sure. Id rather we trade him now and get something back that will help us in the long run, than persist and hope for things that are just unlikely to happen. To me Oliver was always better at stoppage craft and defensive acts so id rather prioritise him rediscovering form over Trac.
  15. Because Trac is 30 and on the decline. If GCS was to give us 6 and Flanders Iโ€™d take it and run.
  16. If we could package both Adelaide picks into a top 5 pick , it maybe worth it - just get the circus over and done with. You could get GCS involved too. Adelaide get Trac for 14 and F1 GCS get 14, F1, 23 for Flanders and 6 MFC get 6, Flanders for Trac and 23. We could do the exact same trade with GCS where instead of picks GCS get Trac. Just depends on what they prioritise.
  17. Adelaide just doesnโ€™t have the capital and are apparently after Ahh Chee m. They have said they are not willing to o repay either. Iโ€™d be on the phone to GCS and be asking for Pick 6 and Flanders for Trac and 23. Otherwise no deal and he stays put. We hold all the cards so I hope Lamb has his eyelids glued open.
  18. Well it better be. They pulled a real number on us with McAdam and the.n ANB. Sure some of this is on us given the circumstances and all. But they need to offer up a hell of a good deal. This year and next first (given where they are likely to finish ) is just to get the conversation started .
  19. And with Greg Swanny at the helm, you can be sure that what ever he does, the Lions will not be disadvantaged significantly. But the whole NGA rule change that screwed the Dees with MacAndrew was because the Doggies got JUH and yet we sit here watching the Lions do a mini rebuild on the fly while playing prelims. I mean, come on they must be laughing in the boardroom with how the managed to get away with this.
  20. He doesnโ€™t have it in him anymore I reckon. Rarely plays with that type of intensity.
  21. Iโ€™m happy Pies lost, but Lions are set to play their 3rd grand final in as many years. This after a three peat at the turn of the 21st century. that is a probleM In my book. Especially when you have North struggling to finish higher than bottom 4. For the last decade.
  22. Good bye Collingwood forever. Thatโ€™s not how to the play game.
  23. This will be his output at the Dees if he signs with us 100%
  24. i miss the time when the GF for the VFL & Coates league was on GF monring at the G. Why did they stop doing that?
  25. There are a whole raft of measures that can be employed. The problem is that the AFL has constantly been virtue signalling regarding equalisation but in reality is lured away by the commercial aspect.
