  1. You’re right, PF. Goody does love Jeffo. But that’s got nothing to do with when Jeffo will debut.
  2. A flimsy excuse if ever I saw one.
  3. Melbourne president Brad Green could hear Clayton Oliver crying down the phone line. The superstar Melbourne midfielder felt betrayed by the Demons after he was dangled as trade bait to Adelaide. But three days after Oliver took matters into his own hands and met with Geelong, Green was ready to draw a big thick line on a disastrous three months and rang the jet onballer on the night of the Demons’ best and fairest. The club was taking its fair share of responsibility for his form and fitness failures in 2024 and, under no circumstances would consider trading him, Green said into the phone. Then came the tears. “It was during the trade period and I said, ‘Claz, I want to tell you what I’m going to say tonight at the best-and-fairest,” Green said. “I said to him, ‘I’m going to say that the starting-four at our first centre bounce next year will be Clayton Oliver, Christian Petracca, Max Gawn and Jack Viney’. “Straight away, he got emotional. I could hear him crying. “He said, ‘Don’t do that’. And I said, ‘Why?’. He said ‘It is B&F night and it is about the award-winners, I don’t want you to speak about me’. And I said, ‘What I want to tell you right now Clarry is that I love you, I love you being part of this club, and you are going to be an all-time great. “I said you will be in the hall of fame, and you are not going anywhere, and that is OK. “And he said back, ‘I love you, Greeny’, and that was it. He was happy.” Brad Green resolved the Clarrie issue in the most effective way possible and it isn’t rocket science. When Clarrie found out one person at our club was looking into a potential trade to Adelaide his feelings were hurt, so much so he set up a meeting with Geelong reps. Fact: he never wanted to leave the MFC, ever. Clarrie is childlike and his reaction to feeling unwanted and undervalued is perfectly normal and to be expected. All he needed at the time was for someone to tell him he IS wanted and he IS valued and most importantly, he IS loved. Sounds simple and that’s because it IS simple. Thank goodness Brad could see this, because Clarrie needed to hear it from someone other than fans etc. PS: my line spacing needs a good talking to. It’s not coming to the party 😑
  4. Ok, sure, we’ll go with that.
  5. Maybe lower your expectations then. 😅 Sorry Andy, but adding an arrogant tagline (aka a signature) like that to every post (on a forum where people, you know, talk with one another) is just inviting needling. It’s at best unnecessary and at worst abrasive. Nonetheless, I apologise 🫤
  6. More like in his 60s going by the decor in the background.
  7. Jay Clark’s piece today… https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-president-brad-green-and-the-emotional-clayton-oliver-phone-call-that-set-things-straight/news-story/6a5cf481e8106b62eb75021975e39238?giftid=LwvAk6BK6C In particular, what BG said about Goody… Don’t even get me started on the phone call to Clarrie bit🥹 Nor the part where he talks about losing his wife 😢
  8. Now that’s a clever nickname 👏
  9. Why are Sydney in black shorts? I get why they aren’t wearing red, but I wonder why not white.
  10. Well I got that wrong then, didn’t I 😅 Seriously though, that’s a huge blow for the Dogs and I feel for Bont 🙁
  11. And it’s even more special when the club is Melbourne because I reckon there’d be fewer players running around today who barracked for Melbourne as kids as opposed to Collingwood, Carlton, Richmond, Essendon and the interstate sides (the real ones, not the franchises).
  12. I accept this mission 👍🏽 Meanwhile, care to take a guess? Jai looks about 6yo in the picture so it was probably taken in 2009-2010. Ima guess Jack Watts.
  13. They did fly out today. They have a Captain’s Run at Rushton Park In Mandurah tomorrow. They’ll fly back on Sunday after the match. Then they have a few days off followed by training at Casey on Thursday.
  14. I have nfi what this means. I’m super curious though.
  15. Jai is living every kid’s dream…
  16. Short session today, I didn’t get to talk to many of my faves. The Bison waved from the field and gave me a double thumbs up and a big grin. I reckon he knows what us fans think of him. 😊 👍🏽👍🏽
  17. Luker update: he’s 86d the ‘tache. He said it was a rash decision this morning but he’s keen to grow it back. I said please don’t. 😅 I told him the Bison (the footballer formerly known as Harves) needs to shave off the poor excuse for a “moustache” that hovers above his lip. Luker said he has suggested this to the Bison but was told “the girls like it.” 🤷‍♀️ Serious Luker update: he was on the stationary bike. Without me asking about a timeline, he again said he’ll be good to go in two months. I told him I’m sure he’ll get back his muscle tone and gain weight in no time because it’s easier for a young person. Then I remembered someone on here saying he’ll need to do a full preseason, so I said this to him and he answered, “This is my preseason” and gestured towards the bike. He wasn’t joking. I didn’t know what to say so I just nodded like an id!0tt, which isn’t unusual 🤭 in any event, he seems way more positive than he was last week. He doesn’t look as gaunt now and he has more energy (he was on the bike for quite a while and was upping the speed). Most importantly he wasn’t downcast like he was last week.
  18. Yes! Judd was into everything today. He’s running well and Pete the physio is really happy with his progress. The very first thing he did this morning was a tackling session with Melky, and they weren’t holding back.
  19. Marty says a few weeks. The broken bone is on the top of his hand in between his index and middle fingers. He says in terms of broken bones in the hand/wrist this bone isn’t the worst to break. He was praised by one of the physios for electing to attend the session today even though he can’t do much apart from kicking the ball gently but not having it kicked back to him, of course. Incidentally, he didn’t have a plaster of Paris cast on his hand. That mustn’t be a thing anymore. edit: I just remembered that Marty said it’s only bandaging because there are plates in his hand.
  20. Huge love for Kolt. He just had his first run! Ricky Lever was very vocal with his congratulations, but when isn’t he, amirite? Kolt says he feels great. And I believe him coz he couldn’t look happier. Pete, the head physio, told me Kolt is “an exceptional young man” and “his dedication can’t be questioned.” Melky also says he feels great and he has only “two weeks or thereabouts” before he’s fully ready.
  21. Boys got out here half an hour early and they’re in great spirits. It’s sunny and everyone’s got a massive spring in their step. Marty is here with his hand well bandaged. He’s super upbeat though.
  22. Can we please start a poll? Question: Do you read replies and reactions? Answers: A. Sometimes B. Always C. I’m greenwaves
  23. Who could ever forget that?! What a joyous moment. I believe it was our last game at Subiaco (?)
