Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
You're overthinking this.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Nope. He would have ended up at Collingwood. May was being traded that year, we got in late and turned his head.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
I would be appalled if we move on Trac just to make some room in the cap we have nothing to do with. Basically just making our list worse for nothing. He's a gun player and gun players get paid the big bucks. Adelaide aren't chasing him because they reckon he's in the bargain bin, they're doing it because they think he might be the difference in winning a flag.

What we got for Hogan and paid for May was entirely reasonable. That trade was one of the key reasons we were able to win a flag.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Wasn't the report always that the club was open to a trade that suited us and Trac was open to a move but not desperate? Pretty expected that Trac would have to meet with other clubs under those circumstances. Think that's about as mature an approach as you could expect. Still a world where he's playing for the Dees next year. Really depends on how serious Adelaide/Gold Coast are about getting this done.

2025 Player Reviews: #20 Xavier Lindsay
You never know. Look at Dangerfield or Fyfe's frame in their draft year.

2025 Player Reviews: #20 Xavier Lindsay
Looked an absolute gun in the early season. Struggled to run out the season. Another pre-season will do him wonders. His ball-use is elite so need to harness that weapon.

Think people are overstating the issue of Trac's contract.

Doesn't have the competitiveness to make it as a key forward.

Cats wobbles
You are saying our record is good because we've played more seasons where we've been garbage and haven't made finals at all. Strange argument. Would much rather be playing in prelims and grannys than finishing 15th, but you do you.

I think the lesson here is that inside info should always be taken with a grain of salt and doing so isn't necessarily a personal attack on the person providing that info.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
The Kite-flying at this time of year is unbearable.

Cats wobbles
I would take the Cats record in that period over ours any day. Not sure what point you are trying to make.

I'm not. Losing good young players is a terrible outcome.

Late second rounder. We have no leverage.

"I hope this doesn't sound like sour grapes" - Chris Scott
The whole point of the sub is to deal with an injured player. It benefitted Scott today even though he couldn't see it. A few years ago he wouldn't have even had the sub and it just becomes another rotation, which is his wish. The irony is the coaches begged for the sub when the concussion protocols came in. Now they want it gone. It's one of the great examples of AFL reactivity that the coaches have been able to con them into adding a 5th man on the bench.

Think people are taking the 'no purpose' thing a little too literally. The club obviously had a general purpose and drive to keep winning and going for flags, but the unifying purpose that the whole team was playing for up to 2021 was lost. The mountain had been climbed already and the team was crowned a dynasty in-waiting before the medals had even been presented. He's saying we got complacent and players became more focussed on themselves rather than the team and he's admitting that he failed to see it or revitalise that singular team ethos that they had in 2021. It's a hard truth that I hope the players hear. But by Goodwin's own admission the board was vindicated in their decision to move him on.

His late season form was still miles below his best.

Hes absolutely worth a mid-high first rounder.

Only way we make finals is by improving our list. Trading Trac for a couple of average picks aint it.
