As it stands today Oliver is worth pick 15 and $750k per year. No club will offer him more than that. His 2024 season was average, there is an unknown if he will ever reclaim his form and the off field behaviour is concerning. The question will be how much the dees want him to leave.

Why on earth is it an issue for pert investigating if clubs are interested in Oliver? It’s not the role of either goody or richo and probably requires more nuance than leaving it to lamb.

I genuinely believe Oliver’s best football is past him and the club knows this. Without his ability to burst out of packs he becomes just another ‘in and under’ player. Not worth $1m. I reckon if a club were to offer to take his contract, dees would be happy to part ways.

Not owning the land is a concern. Not sure what appreciation you can get with depreciating facilities. We were able to make a nice profit from the Bentleigh club because we owned the land.

They aren’t proposing to build Dubai.:: it’s a few football ovals, a pavilion and a 4 storey HQ..: a members fundraising and some contribution from council and state governments will be enough. I’m in construction and the total cost for this isn’t going to be exorbitant

The issue will this is that everyone wants the space to be utilised and that the current status quo needs to change. dees are putting forward a shared public and MFC space. This is exactly what the council wants. Can’t see what the objection is other than funding.

Most people that gamble know exactly the risks and rewards and enter into it like adults. Like everything in life some people take it to the extreme. You can’t completely regulate for those at the edges.

Her interview wasn’t terrible and it wasn’t the only reason she departed. In reality, 12 years in any organisation is probably too long. She had an amazingly successful stewardship since she took over. GF followed by 2 x top 4 finishes is an outstanding record. I would have expected a little more progress from HQ relocation however I can’t imagine that the infighting at the Melb racing club is helping our cause. Time will tell if her efforts at Caulfield Racecourse will be successful. She volunteered more than 12 years at the club. time, effort and tears. we owe her a massive thank you and well wishes.

I can’t see a way that a Clayton Oliver trade is done. firstly, his trade value has diminished. Last year he was worth 2 x 1st round draft picks however this value has dropped to only 1 x 1st round. secondly, like petracca, clayton is on an extended multi million dollar contract. Again, there is too much risk for other clubs to spend that much money on a talent that might never reach his peak again. dees are unlikely to agree to only 1 x 1st rounder and won’t agree to subsidise Clayton’s wage at another club.
