Quite like Jay Clark but I find it fascinating that he is part of a huge chorus of journo's seriously questioning our culture. Blues were lauded for their victory with a second string team last week. What people forgot is that the Eagles are virtually an average WAFL team atm. Go Saints!!

We had way more inexperienced players on the park. Pies just about the oldest in the league. One could mount an argument that they were anywhere near affected by injury like us. We had close to 10 first team players out to their 3. Not even close. Because McStay caused us trouble in one game means little. Cox destroyed Richmond in the 2018 prelim. Both he and McStay are average players. DeGoey was indeed a miss. As the late and great Ron Barrasi was oft quoted " there were reasons why we lost, not excuses".

'They had a ton out'? DeGoey and Mihocek. Mitchell is cooked and McStay is bang average. Who else? We had 5 AA superstars missing, Windsor,Sparrow and Spargo. That's forgetting about Brayshaw and Smith who weren't able to replace. Sorry, no comparison.

This has been obvious for weeks. Missing out on finishing 8th and a likely early exit comes with huge benefits. Not only a better fixture, although don't bet on us getting the Tigers twice, longer off season and return to pre season earlier. The cherry on the cake is the draft position.
