  1. Still grasping onto the fact that Freo have never played in Alice Springs. Has to be a factor . MCG has no fear for them. Guess players like Jackson and O'Meara have been there but as a collective this has to be a disadvantage. Alternatively, we are very comfortable there and conditions will be good unlike the narrow debacle last year. Apart from our first three losses Traegear Park, when we were basically a basket, case our record is sound. Whilst it was only StKilda there were some signs that we might be turning the corner. Huge fortnight for the Demons. After the bye the next 5 matches are eminently winnable. How good would it be to get eight straight.! 🤞
  2. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Windsor is the only player in the top 20 draft picks to have played every game this year. Definitely time for the young fella to get a rest. I thought his game against the Saints showed that. Langdon and Hunter can take care of the wings. Maybe take Caleb to Alice for the experience but Definitely don't play at Casey. Bring him back ready and raring to go for the King's Birthday clash then, along with the rest of the team, he greats another break before the North game.
  3. Surely Fullarton plays if Petty injured. If not, why did we recruit him? Did he not drop out of the selected squad through illness? If so, must be close. With Freo having two genuine ruckman he can assist Max, particularly with the calf, and spend time forward.Means that JVR can 'stay at home' up front longer. More of a genuine ruck. Open to other suggestions. For me it's way to early for Jefferson based on one good performance.
  4. 4. I thought it was more than that.
  5. Has Mitch White nominated for the mid season draft? If he hasn't he should! Given we sit fourth we are some chance . Our midfield depth is lacking. OK, not the quickest but he is an accumulator with another 38 disposal game. He is tough and generally a good user. He has played at the level and was more than serviceable in awful teams and he was plagued by injuries. Yes, it's a short term fix but with any injuries or need to rest players he would be my choice. At 28 he still has time left. Leads by example at Casey.
  6. It's my understanding that Freo have never played at Alice Springs, only Darwin. Happy to be corrected. This gives us a real 'home ground' advantage. Unlike last year the weather looks fine.
  7. Agree with this. I hope we are bold enough to try this. I'm prepared to say it could be a game changer. Tomlinson has great endurance, reasonable pace, will get to a contest and can take a grab. I think his goalkicking is OK. I fear if he has a bad one in the next two weeks he will be banished back to Casey. For me, that would be an error
  8. I've been saying this for awhile. His GWS forward experiment was 5 years ago. Do we have anything to lose? If he keeps playing this well he is to good to leave out when Lever comes back. Turner will need time at Casey. Tomlinson could also possibly give a chop out in the ruck. He is desperate to keep his place. Would throw everything at being a forward. Would also make us more flexible. I love Petty but he is sore and sadly out of form.
  9. Petty not fit. Neither McAdam. Windsor needs a rest. Is Turner ready? AMW must be close. Tholstrup well and truly in the frame.
  10. Does this bloke ever give credit to the opposition? Recognise the fact that they lost Coniglio early? Seriously.
  11. Is there illness sweeping through the camp or is that just a malicious rumour?
  12. He will have Max and May around for a couple of years but at 200cm is unlikely to be developed. So you're 100% White will join us next year? You know this how? Again, not the point. This should be a non issue.
  13. Playing at the G tick, decent crowds tick. The rest? Relationships already formed at the Suns. They will very soon be in the mix to be a very good team. By the time Kalani reaches anywhere near his potential Max May, Viney and others will be gone. Anyway, this is not the point. There should be no choice. Either scrap F/S or make it sacrosanct.
  14. Everything I have. $10. Seriously, you have some inside intel? Other than being a lifelong Melbourne supporter why wouldn't he go to the Suns? Weather, lifestyle, familiarity with players, no need to uproot and the fact that the Suns are on the rise whereas we could be going the other way. This is not to be read as justification for his decision. It shouldn't be in his hands. FWIW I sincerely hope you're correct.
  15. The Nick Blakey situation was scandalous. His father was a 300 game player but in the end it counted for nothing. 'Hard to swallow'. Yes, but I would take it a step further. This competition is already so compromised it's beyond a joke. Wouldn't know where to begin. To lose Andrew and then, even worse White, for me would make the AFL nigh on impossible to follow.
  16. Honestly, I know many of us , including myself, overreact in certain situations but if we get stiffed on this one it will be the final straw. All I hear is how wonderful the father/ son rule and how important it is for junior to follow in his dad's footsteps. Most media pundits think it's essential to the fabric of our game. I wouldn't blame Kalani at all for staying at home but that is not the essence of the situation. AFL and media can't have it both ways.If they truly believe in the sanctity of F/S then White should be made to play for us. Can you imagine the outcry if the Daicos boys were in the same position? Having said all that I'll put a lot of money on Kalani ending up at the Suns. It is an absolute farce.
  17. Haven't watched all of Casey's games but Hunter's second half against Port was outstanding and he was very good against Carlton. Ahead of Woewodin for me.
  18. He played against Malcolm Blight at full back one day at the MCG!!
  19. Had Robbie had the luxury of playing in the teams of RBD's era he would be just about the greatest. Vividly recall David Parkin, after a 40 disposal game for Flower representing Victoria, stating that he was just about the best player he ever coached. RDB very good player but his leadership and toughness were his greatest qualities, not his skill.
  20. If Tomlinson doesn't come in now I have no idea why he is on our list. Yes, he's no world beater but has been Casey's best and is the natural replacement. Petty has to remain up front given the paucity of forwards. I'm not overly confident this will occur.
  21. Surely Tomlinson comes in for Lever. For those wanting Petty to go back and Fullarton to play the latter's form is not deserving of a game. Tomlinson's definitely is but somehow I think his card is marked. Surely Ben Brown has played his last game for the MFC. Knees gone and so is he. For me Out: Lever, Brown, Billings In: JVR, Tomlinson and the ever improving AMW. 30 odd possessions again at Casey. Has been a consistent performer, good user and basically we have little to lose.
  22. Max and May play as 33 year olds next season. Viney 31. No genuine forwards emerging. Midfield depth is alarming. The end is nigh.
