  1. Everything I have. $10. Seriously, you have some inside intel? Other than being a lifelong Melbourne supporter why wouldn't he go to the Suns? Weather, lifestyle, familiarity with players, no need to uproot and the fact that the Suns are on the rise whereas we could be going the other way. This is not to be read as justification for his decision. It shouldn't be in his hands. FWIW I sincerely hope you're correct.
  2. The Nick Blakey situation was scandalous. His father was a 300 game player but in the end it counted for nothing. 'Hard to swallow'. Yes, but I would take it a step further. This competition is already so compromised it's beyond a joke. Wouldn't know where to begin. To lose Andrew and then, even worse White, for me would make the AFL nigh on impossible to follow.
  3. Honestly, I know many of us , including myself, overreact in certain situations but if we get stiffed on this one it will be the final straw. All I hear is how wonderful the father/ son rule and how important it is for junior to follow in his dad's footsteps. Most media pundits think it's essential to the fabric of our game. I wouldn't blame Kalani at all for staying at home but that is not the essence of the situation. AFL and media can't have it both ways.If they truly believe in the sanctity of F/S then White should be made to play for us. Can you imagine the outcry if the Daicos boys were in the same position? Having said all that I'll put a lot of money on Kalani ending up at the Suns. It is an absolute farce.
  4. Haven't watched all of Casey's games but Hunter's second half against Port was outstanding and he was very good against Carlton. Ahead of Woewodin for me.
  5. He played against Malcolm Blight at full back one day at the MCG!!
  6. Had Robbie had the luxury of playing in the teams of RBD's era he would be just about the greatest. Vividly recall David Parkin, after a 40 disposal game for Flower representing Victoria, stating that he was just about the best player he ever coached. RDB very good player but his leadership and toughness were his greatest qualities, not his skill.
  7. If Tomlinson doesn't come in now I have no idea why he is on our list. Yes, he's no world beater but has been Casey's best and is the natural replacement. Petty has to remain up front given the paucity of forwards. I'm not overly confident this will occur.
  8. Surely Tomlinson comes in for Lever. For those wanting Petty to go back and Fullarton to play the latter's form is not deserving of a game. Tomlinson's definitely is but somehow I think his card is marked. Surely Ben Brown has played his last game for the MFC. Knees gone and so is he. For me Out: Lever, Brown, Billings In: JVR, Tomlinson and the ever improving AMW. 30 odd possessions again at Casey. Has been a consistent performer, good user and basically we have little to lose.
  9. Max and May play as 33 year olds next season. Viney 31. No genuine forwards emerging. Midfield depth is alarming. The end is nigh.
  10. It's easy to be melodramatic during game time but this match is potentially over and along with it the season. Friendly reminder Eagles lost Collingwood to the tune of 66 points last week! So hope to have egg on my face at the final siren.
  11. Really think it's time to go past Ben Brown. Hope he proves me wrong for the rest of the game but I think he is cooked.
  12. Gee, Tomlinson would have been handy right now.
  13. Unfortunately Casey in for an almighty thumping this week. 😕
  14. Who plays wing? Hunter completely out of favour.
  15. Does Fullarton play? No vision of him with the group being cheered for his first game. Personally I hope it's Tomlinson.
  16. Yes but that was four years ago. He has developed as a good player. Also his time forward was a very small sample size. Verrell has shown a bit in the ruck but nothing up forward. Fullarton has shown something up forward but nothing in the ruck. I would be very loathe to risk Petty. Having said all that can't see Tomlinson being selected. His card is marked.
  17. I'm all in on giving Tomlinson a try up forward. We know he can ruck. Neither Turner or JVR setting the world on fire atm. One of either Verrell or Fullarton might be selected but VFL form for both has been moderate and I believe doesn't warrant being chosen. For me nothing to lose by trying Tomlinson in the front half. He may well surprise. Unfortunately, for some reason, his card is marked and it is unlikely to happen.
  18. If Salem is fit he should play off half back. Very good in the midfield against Hawthorn but may lack the fitness atm. Love to see Rivers unleashed in there. Reckon he has a huge upside and will allow Trac to float forward regularly. Bpwey will be better fir the run.
  19. I know it won't happen but is it worth trying Tomlinson up forward and as relieving ruck? Turner has gone from black to forward. If my memory serves correctly Tomlinson played some time forward for the Giants. Arguably Casey's best player this year. For mine nothing to lose and he might surprise. Waiting to be shot down!
  20. Hearing from a moderately reliable source that JVR has entered concussion protocols and will miss the Eagles game. Apparently on 9 news?
  21. Do you know what I was thinking exactly the same thing but not brave enough to post! Superb tonight, consistent performer and very good user. Surprised to see he is only 28. We could do a lot worse.
  22. I'll respectfully agree to disagree. Just got a really hard ball get at a crucial time. Won't be surprised at all if he's on the plane next week.
