  1. Has been gifted far too many games for mine. No real sign of improvement. He's reached his 'ceiling'.
  2. I know there is not much beneath him but has Sparrow played a really good game since the '21 flag? I know Goodwin loves him but I get the sense he 'walks on water'.
  3. Doubt Jefferson and JVR could be anywhere nears as bad as Petty and Turner. Yes, forwards not solely to blame but these two were beyond woeful. I've been a Petty supporter but enough is enough.
  4. I would play both JVR and Jefferson and leave out Turner and Petty. These two were just about 'worst on' today and it was a Melbourne Cup field!
  5. Agree with some of that but what do we do mid season to replace Brayshaw? Get an unproven ruckman when the midfield is bare. Dunstan may have been ordinary but a ball magnet and miles ahead of most at Casey atm. Goodwin has always refused to rest our midfield stars and it's starting to tell.Numerous times Dunstan should have been selected but never was. Harmes and Jordon good depth. Just let them go. Don't let me get started on Grundy.
  6. In 1990 , If my memory serves me correctly, Collingwood had consecutive weeks of 80 point thrashings late in the season and the rest is history. I'm not hopeful.
  7. Play Jefferson. Nothing to lose. The lack of depth at Casey is alarming but we knew that at the start of the season. Oh wait, all except the football and recruiting departments. Thought it was OK to lose Dunstan, Jordon, Hibberd, Brayshaw, Grundy, Harmes and Smith all really not replaced. It's a scandal. Midfield is tiring but Goodwin has never been one for rotation. Development at Casey has been halted with an uncompetitive outfit. Max and May in their twilight. Viney has the body of a 35 year old at 30. It's over.
  8. Max and May 33 next year. 'Dynasty' is officially over.
  9. We have to arrest something in the second half. Diabolical atm but a percentage smashing makes it two losses. Taking a 5 goal defeat and come out fired up next week. I think I'm clutching at straws.
  10. What an utterly woeful performance against a lowly stand alone VFL club. Jefferson showed some promise. I'll leave it at that.
  11. Barely a Casey player worth mentioning against a team consisting of Doutta Stars and South Morang players. Embarrassing. A number of people were calling for Fullarton to replace Petty. Laughable. Petty at his very worst offers 10 times more than Fullarton.
  12. I reckon 'IF' we can win this one we can be 4 out of the next 5 minimum!!
  13. I know it's difficult to retain players but a strong Casey outfit has been the bedrock of our success in recent years. Young players greatly benefit from being in competitive and successful VFL teams. This apparently is no longer a priority . Regardless of any comeback to be touched up by a lowly Coburg with its own injury concerns is embarrassing and concerning.
  14. Fullarton being outmatched by a suburban ruck. Strange recruitment.
  15. Laurie too good at this level. Just needs to make the transition with confidence. Best game for Adams in some time. White is a star. At 28 he deserves a rookie spot. Fullarton is not a ruckman. Jefferson getting into good spots. AMW has potential but too many cheap possessions. Verell developing well. Our policy of umpteen emergencies is absurd unless they know spmething we don't. Halting the development of our young blokes. Kolt just doing enough.
  16. Their on ball brigade is formidable. Darcy, Jackson, Fyfe, Serong, Brayshaw and, to a lesser extent O'Meara, is formidable. Also concerning that Amiss and Walters are due up forward. Need Petracca to continue his good form and Clarry and Viney to get back to somewhere near their best . Salem needs a repeat of last week with Kossie,ANB, Sparrow and others to chip in. I think Petty should to go to Pearce and playing a negating role. If he kicks a couple it would be a bonus. Hoping Tomlinson can stay on top of his game. For me, Turner might have to do some work in the ruck. Don't fancy Petty in there for too long. Might be sounding a bit negative with all of this. Actually think we're a better team. Just hoping for a good start again and no in game injuries. 🤞
  17. Sunday becomes a massive game for us now. Stay injury free and we can take care of the Pies next week. After the bye it's North, Lions, Eagles & Bombers. Three of those at the MCG. Definitely not getting ahead of myself but this one could set us up. Stop them at the source and we're a real chance. I hope we're not carried away with last weeks win. Saints awful. Having said that,it was a huge win and encouraging signs. Imagine if we can get a bigger output from Petty, Mcadam and, to a lesser extent, Fritsch. Even Clarry and Viney have a cog or two they can add. Good at their best Freo but still putting some store on the fact we have played in Alice Springs 11 times and this is their first.
  18. I'll be shot down for this but if the rumours are true I'm slightly warming to Lobb. Maybe a questionable character but thought he battled on really well tonight Numbers not great but he made the Pies accountable. Doesn't help that he is a monster forward line. In the light of nobody else, if the Dogs are willing to pay a chunk of his contract and we offer up a late pick I think he might just be able to work for us. Would be handy this weekend!
  19. Totally outraged! Why on earth would we have agreed to an ad with Heeney taking a screamer over Petracca? Maybe a bit tongue in cheek but don't like it. Demeans our champion. Hoping there is a reverse sequel I may have missed.
  20. Concerned about this one. Dual ruck combo going to be a real challenge for Max particularly with no JVR. Think we need to put the clamps on Serong. Brayshaw damaging also but we not best advised to tag both. Our midfield has been struggling.
  21. Turner is 2cm taller than Van Rooyen. He will have a crack in the ruck.
  22. Surely Turner comes in for JVR and does some relief ruck work. Petty not worth the risk. Definitely not Brown.
  23. Petty ahead of Brown and Jefferson? Every day of the week.
  24. With due respect, really? Surely Brown is cooked. 'Break glass in case of emergency' at best. If he's not kicking goals we are playing one short. He can only play one position. Don't get me wrong. He's been a great player but no longer. As for Jefferson I'll be flabbergasted if he's selected based pretty much on one decent performance. It was a few short weeks ago that almost all and sundry were calling him a bust a la Lucas Cook. He is not ready. Whilst not ideal Turner at least provides versatility, gets to the contest and is mobile. 3 goals a few games ago was impressive. Down the track I'm in the Tomlinson camp to try forward. Having said all of this I reckon Petty will come up. 8 day break until the Pies then the bye. Love to see him recapture the Geelong form. Still think he's underdone.
