160th Anniversary Jumper
Sorry, DV. I don't mean to be difficult. But, every time someone has a go at Collingwood's alternate jumper I have to shake my head. As much as I hate that team, the fact is their traditional jumper is predominantly BLACK, while their alternate is predominantly WHITE, and works perfectly well as a clash jumper... And, as Essendon now have a predominantly red clash jumper, we really have no grounds for having a go at them any longer, either. And, finally, as ours is now red & blue, kinda think the old clash jumper argument that raises its head every year is pretty much a non-subject this year... Yeah. I know. Off subject! Sorry guys! Back on subject, I like the 160 Yr jumper! (But, as stated earlier in this thread, my $300 will be going towards 10 bottles of 1495 Scotch. (Yep, I know I'm a cheapskate on BOTH fronts! LOL)

TEN bottles of 1495 whisky!! (I'll drink to the nice jumper...! LOL)

Injury List - Season 2018
My memory may be fading. But, seems to me Dillon was FF, while Parke was CHF. When Barry Bourke played FF, it was more as a decoy forward, as he wasn't all that tall... Think he was also a little before the time of Dillon & Parke.

What the Fritsch
Maybe he thinks Bayley is "home & hosed" for a Round 1 spot! LOL

The Ox and Marko sacked by SEN
I'm assuming you meant the Sydney Test. He said he wanted to do that one, and say goodbye to the listeners at the end of it, but that wasn't possible...

The Ox and Marko sacked by SEN
That would be wonderful! But, wouldn't he call for SEN...??

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
The irony is that now, with this guy on our list, some of the "petty" comments on this site might be serious! LOL

No White for MFC Clash Jumpers for Season 2018
So, BR, you sayin' they all play topless?! Gotta admit, it'd be novel!

Are you there Harry? Vale Harry Beitzel
That name doesn't ring any bells, Earl. (But, early stage "Old Timer's Disease" may be setting in, so who knows? LOL)

Are you there Harry? Vale Harry Beitzel
It certainly was a "unique" look...!! Great (and funny) memories! Those were the days!

Are you there Harry? Vale Harry Beitzel
Yeah, they weren't on the panel. Must have been radio. But, Doug Bigelow is another one who was on that panel. Also remember eagerly waiting for each week's edition of "Footy Week", which Harry pioneered. If I remember correctly, it was distributed via a Supermarket chain. Harry was certainly a "larger than life" figure, and huge in footy back in the 60's. His demise was very sad.

Are you there Harry? Vale Harry Beitzel
Sad to hear it. Well I remember the day when Harry reigned supreme over the ABC TV Footy Panel. Was joined by the likes of "Chicken" Smallhorn, Tony Ongarello, Doug Heywood and a few other notables whose names escape me at the moment. RIP, Harry!

The Importance of Jordan Lewis
Spot on Nasher! He was really embarrassed by the performance. I, too, had no doubt he would back up his strong words with a strong on-field performance. Was very pleased to see it. Looking forward to tomorrow night's banter with Jack R...!

The Importance of Jordan Lewis
Just watched last night's AFL 360. Jordie was definitely stung by the bad performance. Here's what he said: "We went through it today [the game]. I had a bad game. There's no doubt about it. But, I think I can sit here and say I haven't had too many like that and, I mean, the proud person that I am, I'll be bouncing back this week in a big way." So, here's to seeing him putting in a blinder against the doggies, and, hopefully, push aside his detractors!

End of year delistings
Someone mentioned in another thread the idea of Col Garland being retained on the coaching panel. Dunno if they had inside knowledge, but it's just been announced that Col has been appointed as the Player Development Coach of the women's team. Well done, Col!

Found myself staring at the banner, and wondering what on earth it meant. Thanks for the explanation. Nice! (And, long may it fly!)

Billy Stretch Appreciation Thread
Two of our three Father-Son lads are going very nicely at the moment. And, from all reports, sounds like the third (young Smithy) is also showing some early signs of blossoming over time. Nice to see!

Torpedo Punt
Hmm. Putting doubts into an old, senile mind, now JJC! LOL I must admit I reckon I recall Danny using the drop kick on frequent occasions. But, I could be wrong. Can anyone (with a little clearer memory) help us out?
-
Torpedo Punt
Mono there was a more recent exponent of the art. Danny Hughes used to use the drop kick out of full back with great aplomb. Think he was pretty much the last guy at the MFC to use it.

Lynden Dunn
With all the crap our team has served up in recent years, it's just as well we had our own Dunny on the ground! (Sorry, guys! Couldn't help myself!) Seriously, I think he's still a very important cog in our backline. Very pleased for him to be able to be part of the recent success.
