  1. Pity it's not a curtain raiser at the MCG! (Yeah, I know! Dream on!!)
  2. Great memories there! Loved Greg Parke! He was a copper during the week, and controlled traffic at CHF of Sat arvo! (Great to hear the dulcet sounds of Tony Charlton's commentary, too!) Yes, a debut like that for our new debutante would be wonderful!
  3. The term "Kamakaze" springs to mind! Seem to recall that when he first started, he would constantly throw himself in with such gay abandon that he would invariably get himself injured, and miss the following week.
  4. Fact or conjecture??
  5. I seem to recall that he was asked after the game about the gesture to the Members. He simply explained that he was ordering a coffee with two sugars...! A lovable larrikan!
  6. To be fair to the scorers, it is very difficult to tell Maxy & Spargs apart...
  7. Here's hoping he doesn't fall foul of the censors today!
  8. Crumbs! You falling foul of the censors, now?
  9. Wow!! And THIS is what I call a training thread! Best one by a country mile in living memory! Keep it up, guys! Well done!
  10. Or, maybe, he doesn't have a mirror!
  11. They know that Robinson guy is TOO SOFT to take on the super tough Dees!!
  12. Yep. After the game Jacko was walking around with ice attached to the back of his leg, well below the knee...
  13. Carlton not wearing their light-coloured strip against Richmond, while we had to wear ours against Collingwood??!!!! Go figure!!
  14. Really? Thought it was two, but very happy (and relieved) to be corrected...!
  15. People here calling for May in. But, I thought he was suspended by the Club for TWO matches. Surely that doesn't include the Bye...??
  16. Alas, he wasn't the only culprit tonight. Brown, McDonald & Fritta all missed easy set shots early in the game.
  17. They said it was ribs, but no elaboration as to the severity.
  18. So, when did the rule change? Back in the day, if a player was tackled and failed to correctly dispose of the ball (kick or handball), he was penalised. Lost count of the times tonight where that went unrewarded. (Yeah. I know. What's new?)
  19. Was that around the same time they had a huge headline on one of their newspapers saying words to effect: "Appearing tonight at Subiaco oval for one night only.... THE EASYBEATS"?? Will never forget how angry that made me feel at the time! (Especially given they were abusing the name of one of my favourite groups back in the 60s...!!)
  20. I'll happily take that scoreline tonight...
  21. On the telecast, Bucks was asked if Melb due for a loss. His reply was something to the effect of "definitely not!". Went on to say something to the effect he'd love to see the dees go through the season undefeated! I'm beginning to warm to the lad! Thought his comments throughout the game were insightful from the way a coach looks at how a game is unfolding...Good stuff!
  22. I heard the ANZAC ceremony starts at 6:55pm...
  23. LOL. I was tempted to mention that Umpy, too. Was the one who disallowed Trac's great goal. To avoid the sexist tag, I was gonna simply refer to "the umpy with the high voice..." Made several terrible calls against us.
  24. Thing that most impressed me was that he was marking everything that came his way, in contrast to his previous few outings, where he couldn't hold a mark for the life of him! If this is the "new Weid", I like it!!
