bulldust, how many practice matches did we play to prepare us for the NAB cup? Ans: none... These are our practice matches were playing now,,, new coach trialling the list to see who can play, who's hungry & who's, if anyone, has lost it. He's also promised to experiment, putting players in foreign positions & seeing how they go. Who gives a toss if we win or lose these games, totally unimportant @ this stage.

We were a confidance team for one reason, we weren't good enough by a long shot but were playing to 100%. & before you say, oh, good coaching. Crap. Good coaching is recognising the talent that will carry us through against the talent that just falls short everytime in big occaisions. we've wasted the past 4 years in hindsight through poor coaching, we now have an oppportunity to progress, lets not become deluded by being OVERLY optimistic. Patience is a virtue, & the enjoyment of developing a premiership list a thrill. Enjoy the ride...............................

Last season, you didn't notice demons players in adds on telly, also melbourne supporters in adds. I saw more red & blue last season on tv than for ages, in promotional stuff.

They are quality kids allready, thats why we drafted them top 21. What is unknown is how far they'll grow their talent. But out of every years top 20 draftees comes a good percentage of at least 100 game min' players. Plus a very good chance at snagging a champion. Bruce or Green are not good enough to play in a Premiership team.

Who would like to recieve a draft pick of say pick 15 - 20 for one of green or bruce & pickup a quality kid like a petterd or a maric or a grimes in a coming strong draft? mind you that drafts in '09 & beyond may be feeding 2 extra teams in the comp with possible priority picks for new teams!

I'd be shopping both around the market place at seasons end to offload at least one of for a draft pick/s.

We only need to start being competetive &-or/winning in the last 2 prac - matches, so i'd like them to keep trialing the kids atm. My ego is not phased by trivial things like proving naught in these little games.

the right time was 3 or 4 years ago, better late than never.

Yze's best position for our future is concerned is as a hurdle. He'll be put in the way of the young'uns forcing them to lift their game to overtake him for a senior spot.

Agreed 'deanox', but Miller just Won't ever be a 'Schwartz, or 'Neitz', but what he can be is a hard working tall service technician type like 'McDonald' is to the mids.

I,m glad to hear that, 'cause our list 'aint ready & primed, Yet. We need to recruit well again next year as we loose some more players at their career end & some not suitable? I'm hoping about 11th or 12th in '08, then round 9th or 10th in '09 should see us with a formidable list that can take us all the way, & hopefully then some. 2010 / '011 / '012......!!!!!!!!!!!!
