  1. Rnd-14 is one game worth a draft pick on it's own. It can give us the 2 front seats @ the premier of the biggest November dance party we'll be going to this year. Better yet we can have someone @ the door denying West Coast Eagles entry until late.
  2. I was at the bentleigh club for the last few fox games. I was the tall slender one standing alone in the corner quietly observing the talent. You'ld recognise me if you think back, I was dressed in the lamp shade gear. Good warm venue, the beer looked good & the savouries smelt appertising. I may get dressed up next week. B)
  3. I've been snooping around a bit & I can tell you that the inside goss is Bailey's the cream.
  4. This is my take on current pecking order of the following list, - I can see 2 in danger for this year & some offered a one year contract for 2010, if thats allowed. Aaron Davey - October 2009 Brock McLean - October 2009 Cale Morton - October 2009 Jack Grimes - October 2009 Tom McNamara - October 2009 Addam Maric - October 2009 James McDonald - October 2009 Colin Sylvia - October 2009 Kyle Cheney - October 2009 Brad Miller - October 2009 John Meesen - October 2009 Mark Jamar - October 2009 Russell Robertson - October 2009 -------------------------------------- Daniel Bell - October 2009 Matthew Whelan - October 2009
  5. Belze, we're often on the same wavelength mate, one day we should catchup for a beer when the DEES play interstate.
  6. What is it that you don't get, we won't be in Finals games till at least 2011, unless half the competition falls over.
  7. At a guess it may have been shoulder clean up, I can't think of any other niggle he's had.
  8. Well done, 'DD', good to get these new members on board.
  9. Thanks Barry, have one for me. It's been great keeping up with your reports. Fan, maybe you could go O/S, it's cheap @ IRAQ & AFGANISTAN.
  10. As I'm starting to think more about this draft period, combined with next year H & A's & the '09 draft, as our imediate future's concerned. Not for the impatient but huge I think for our future. If we were to take, IN 2009, say with the first 2 picks, (yes, less than 4 wins), John Butcher 194ish & Jack Fitzpatrick 199cm ruck-forward, their probably better than this years combinations of Watts & say Natinui/Vickery. I really rate Vickery but i'm unsure about Watts, it must be his fresh young face & non physical presence onfield. I'm just not sold completely, my gut instinct feels wary of him as a key posi player. I saw Butcher & Fitzpatrick play down at Casey Fields & they caught my attention. I've also seen some footage of Butcher & Fitzpatrick & their impressive. I've almost changed my mind on Watts who I think plays a bit like a ruck rover come tall forward, I wonder if he's imposing enough on the contest for AFL seniors? I would just about skip Watts & take what I think will be the longer term option of NicNat, or grabbing either Vickery, Rich or Ziebell. I think we'll still be bottom 2 or 3 next year as I can't see who will fall below us + Freo & Eagles, so I think Butcher or Fitzpatrick wil be available to us. The quality talls are about this & next years drafts.
  11. I'm not worried about if we take Watts or Rich, either will do, but my point is not sharing priority picks with too many teams. You see I believe that it not only is about getting the best player we need, but also creating a talent gap to overtake the likes of carlton.
  12. Just want to say guys that this wasn't inspired by whqat was written in Sat' sun, I didn't read it till Sunday night. Just hopefull that we get as many young kids drafted in the next few years as we possibly can. This is great,as we can now build a premiership winning team of passionate people who will finally take us all the way.

Could tip Freo out of priority pick contention.
  14. No thanks. While he has been my favourite player of the league in recent years, he is not want will take us to the promised land.
  15. My biggest surprise this year are Matthew Warnock's improvement, & the changing of his spots ( ie :- Brad Green) throwing the body into contests & showing leadership through bravery.
  16. The Doggies mids are just about the best getting about at the minute, West can't even get out there for a jog this year injuries aside. Jamar is just finding some fitness now for the first time in his career since surgery on both ankles last summer, he's trimmed right down & is starting to grow some belief. Let him see out his contract next year & that will be the time to judge his ability going forward. For what it's worth I saw him take the ball on the wing @ Sandy once on the move, looked up & without thinking speared a left foot pass to the player on the HFFlank boundary 35 metres away hitting him forcefully laceout on the chest. It shocked us all including I think Jamar himself, He can kick I think occaisionally but I think he doubts himself & therefore struggles a bit.
  17. Yeah I know, but we have to make space on our list to recruit this year from the U/18's & to have a crack at RWarnock.
  18. Retirements - Neitz, finalised --------------- Yze he must have recognised the games too quick for him now. --------------- Holland writings very much on the walls --------------- White I hope he's decided to go so we can give him a good farewell. --------------- McDonald not sure yet, but with Green & Miller stepping up as leaders & McLean, maybe don't need Junior so much.
  19. I'll try to get over straight there,, B)
  20. Round 4 of the U18 National Championships is taking place at Casey Fields tomorrow: Tasmania vs Western Australia at 10:00am Victoria Country vs South Australia at 12:15pm Victoria Metro vs NSW/ACT at 2:30pm This will be followed by Round 5 at Telstra Dome on Wednesday: South Australia v NSW/ACT at 10:05am Tasmania v Victoria Country at 12:15pm Victoria Metro v Western Australia at 2:30pm Anyone going?
  21. I've been there once or twice & they have a kitchen there set up to cook stuff & they also have bar-b-ques so maybe someone can organise some salads & stuff in the kitchen to sell with hamburgers &/or hotdogs etc, all funds help the club.
